Expired Kodak T-Max 400 Photo Walk in Los Angeles | Canon Autoboy 2

- I was visiting one of my closest friends in Los Angeles, and he told me that he had a box of old film cameras and film in his basement. There were numerous boxes of expired Kodak T-Max 400, and I had my Canon (New) Sure Shot AF35M II (aka Autoboy 2) with so I figured it'd probably be a good idea to shoot all east one roll of the old film.
My friend estimated that he had been in possession of the old film stuff for about 8 years. He received it from someone who was taking photos professionally, so it was safe to assume they had kept the film in a refrigerator so 8 years in non-refrigerated storage wouldn't be catastrophic for the film.
And it turns out that hunch was right. The few photos that didn't turn out seemed to be more the result of the camera misjudging what exposure it needed to use. There are two photos that are very, very underexposed, and you can see how much grain and noise is introduced when trying to bring the highlights back.
Overall I'm quite pleased with what I got out of my very first roll of black and white film. I made sure to switch my brain from seeing color to seeing light and shadow, and I quite enjoyed the exercise. It didn't feel challenging at all, and after warming up with a few shots I started to clearly see the world around me in terms of contrast, light & shadow.
I enjoyed it so much I've since purchased a few new rolls of T-Max 400.
One regret about this roll? I wish I had framed the foot centered in the frame of the bench seat the woman in the photograph was seated upon. Had I got her foot centered in that frame, I think the image would be exactly what I THOUGHT I was photographing.

I find that I'm not drawn to black and white film much at all. Perhaps if I shoot with it more I'll find myself wanting to shoot it more often. I just can't *_NOT_* see and love color photography. What about you?
I love the timeless quality of monochrome. It can make the ordinary seem more interesting. And I like your monochrome shots, you've got an eye for contrast.
@@yargnad I was out yesterday and noticed a few shots that would have been good in B&W. Def want to shoot it more now that I’ve got a roll under my belt. Thanks for the kind words!
