    This camera continues to surprise me. I skipped digicams entirely in the 2000s. I went from 35mm point and shoot film to the original iPhone back in 2008. I always thought these cameras were pointless, TBH. Now I see that they make some really distinct images and the CCD sensor does some magical things even with a JPEG.

    Wow, a "digicam" video that consists mostly of photos taken with the camera. And great photos too. Such a refreshing break from most digicam videos on RUclips. Thanks! 👍

      That’s what I’m talking about! And that’s why I started this channel - I was frustrated with so many videos not showing enough photos and mostly showing just the RUclipsr speaking to camera or filming themselves out taking photos.
      I wanted to just vibe out to photos (and some video) and see what all these different cameras look like.
      Appreciate you tuning in!

      This is one of the main reasons I made this channel. I couldn’t find high quality “vibe out” videos that presented photos and video with some info about a specific camera. My hope is that there are a lot of other RUclips users like you and me who will find the channel.

    I recognize this window (@3:59) from your other video, when it had the baseballs in it. I really like that shot. Omaha is about 100% different than what I expected. The only real knowledge I have of it is that 311 are from there. Looks like a great place for photo walks.

    There is something very satisfying about producing stunning images from a camera that costs so little!
    I try and achieve similar results with my thrift shop camera finds!😊
    I think you got the balance between camera and photos spot on, I tend to waffle on too much about the camera and it's spec, when really it's the photos people want to see.
    I've added your channel, hopefully you'll connect with another retro camera, photography creator?

      And really this channel is my reaction to all the other photography channels and videos I’ve consumed over the years. At one point I thought to myself, “I’d love to watch a video that’s just a vibe that gives a little info about the camera but then transports me to someplace new… using music, video, photos and the sounds of the place to immerse me in a feeling.”
      I could find any of those kinds of videos so I decided to make my own.

      I edit the photos using the RNI Films app for iPad. I use their Portra 400 preset and make a lot of adjustments to tone it down, increase contrast, etc. It's a great app if you want to make your digicam photos look a bit more like 35mm film.

    • @somephotovideos

      I haven’t shot the video portions in the cameras featured because the quality is so bad and the focus (pun intended) is more on the photographs. I use a Canon EOS R for the video with the aim of giving the viewer a stronger sense of place to support the photos.

    What setting did you used?

    • @somephotovideos
      @somephotovideos  Год назад

      I used the camera's default Auto setting, so what I think you're seeing in the images is the combo of the magic of CCD sensors (and the blooming of highlights) with my subtle edits. I use the RNI for iPhone / iPad app to add a Kodak Portra 400 film emulation, but I reduce the strength of it significantly so it doesn't look like I've just applied a filter. I make other subtle adjustments to contrast, shadows, highlights, warmth, etc. You can check out RNI here: reallyniceimages.com

  • @Patrick-bn3qz

    SOOC images?

    • @somephotovideos
      @somephotovideos  3 месяца назад +1

      Negative. End credits give the info on what I use to edit them - TL;DR: I always protect my highlights when shooting (as much as possible) and edit using the RNI Films app for iPad. I add a very subtle Kodak Portra 400 film emulation and of course adjust all the normal stuff to my liking - black point, highlights, shadows, saturation, etc.
      With some of the Canon digicams (not this one) I use the Positive Film preset if the camera I'm using has that feature (not all Canon digicams have the Positive Film preset). With Fujifilm cameras, I typically use the Chrome preset. I do additional edits with the RNI Films app as well.
