Its pretty obvious why they pursued it, they were looking for a deterrent. A strong favourable outcome would say to other post office managers, keep your hand out of the till. These sort of benchmark cases are pretty common and are designed to save money into the future.

Can anyone explain why these people are talking? They’re probably facing prosecution at some point, so why don’t they simply refuse to comment? Putting all these comments on the record in the inquiry is not a good idea if you know you’re going to get put on trail at a later date.

A lawyer will not criticise another lawyer except under exceptional circumstances - the Law Society is the biggest boys club going, and effectively a trade union. Without the film to bring matters to light, I have no doubt the whole affair would have been left to wither on the vine. Sad reflection on our country.

I am sure that every person that has been questioned from the post office and fujitsu has been briefed to say I don't recalll, I can't remember. All these people need to be locked up and be made accountable. Saying sorry doesn't cut it and this guy could end up being sued for saying he thinks they are guilty dispite being found innocent.
