    Post Office Security Manager SCRAPS Meeting Notes from the Horizon Issues Taskforce set up by the Post Office in the wake of legal advice it receives according to an attendance note produced at the Post Office Inquiry.
    The Post Office Inquiry has meeting minutes from the first meeting clearly outlining the Security lead in the meeting saying that no official meeting minutes should be taken but they will keep notes.
    John Scott says this is due to concerns over disclosure and Freedom of Information requests.

      Rarely happens in the UK that a rich person gets jailtime. On the off-chance it does though they've a special open-prison for them, a bit like a resort, which they are required to spend some overnight stays at each week before a medical report is produced permitting an early end to their sentence on health grounds.

    • @iatsd
      @iatsd 11 дней назад

      If it was used/entrered as evidence then it should be on record with the Courts. For the last ~20 years there is zero reason for an organisation to destroy *any* record if it's been captured or generated digitally: storage is no longer a problem. Laws should require it at this point in time for exactly this sort of reason.

    Isn't it funny how John "I don't recall" Scott can remember precise dates and names when he's throwing someone else under the bus? When asked about documents and emails outlining his personal involvement he suddenly has no memory of anything he did, when he did it or why he did it. But he still remembers in those instances the names of OTHER people who told him to do things or who were actually in charge according to him.
    It's deliciously ironic that they are all throwing each other under the bus not realising that it only incriminates themselves even more.

      This is just a speck of the practices employed as standard by police officers. Collusion, comparing statements, making false statements, repeated perjury, losing evidence, failure to record/keep evidence of what they were doing, etc. the practices are endemic and the officers who don't want to play those games and or others, invariably leave. The legal system, legislation, those employed to operate it are criminals operating a mass social fraud. Those who choose to rely on matters involving the police and the courts need to be reminded that the system is a fraud. MPs should immediately roll back the powers of the police. The public should have free access to overturn cases, and be granted compensation from the pension rights of the officers and their bosses. If MPs and Parliament don't want to address the corrupt police, then what can the public do?

    To clarify what John Scott is trying to not admit to; if properly taken and shared minutes of meetings is stopped, then attendees of meetings may keep their own notes. Such notes are unofficial, however much they are employees of The Post Office. If unofficial notes of meetings are later collected, and compared for discrepancies, the discrepancies will come from the different note takers. The Post Office cannot be held responsible for the discrepancies though they, and John Scott, may be held up as wrong, retrospectively, for scraping proper minutes of meetings.

    The conventions of ‘traditional’ meetings are that minutes are taken to record key points of discussion, decisions taken and actions placed. Conventionally, such minutes would held in draft until the next meeting where participants would agree (or not) that they reflect accurately what was discussed/agreed. Those minutes are then finalised - as the ‘official record’ - and circulated to those entitled to receive them. Any ‘notes’ taken by attendees are not official records and there is no ‘process’ to verify their accuracy. So the only purpose in ‘scrapping’ the taking, agreement, and circulation of minutes is to remove any such official record. Giving such an instruction could only have been intended to make it impossible for anyone to obtain access by means of legal request or inquiry to an official record …because it would not exist! It is now for Ms Crichton to justify to the Inquiry WHY she gave such an instruction as she is alleged to have done. It should make for an interesting session!

      For decades, police have been trained in how to 'deal' with all manner of legal matters, including cross-examination. This is the problem, the legal industry trains them how to avoid telling the truth, how to present information in a particular way. The reason that was done was to help make it easier to convict people! Judges and barristers should have a duty to get these liars arrested on the spot, instead even when colluding officers repeatedly say very similar sets of concocted impossible lies, the judge will accept their testimony. So, it's not only the officers, their managers, trainers, HR, who should be sacked it's the pompous judiciary and barristers, whose self importance blinds them to the lies employed.

    What is not said in much of this is how the issues with the system were known within their own retail arm of Post Office Counters. We always here about sub post masters at small sites, but not at their large branches. Because it was all covered up. A friend told me many years ago about the bugs in the system when it was first being rolled out, and how it could be 'corrected' if needs be. Wish he was still alive today to speak out.
