I’m a Mexican LIVING in Mexico and Josh has eaten more varieties of tacos than I have in my whole life! 🤣 Thanks for showing love to our country! ❤

@@francostacy7675 and by world You probably think continent of America 😂😂😂
You guys should collaborate
As a mexican living in Mexico, I just wanna say that it's great to see they took you to small/street/popular businesses and not to fancy restaurants, there is where you get the real flavors. Also it was really nice to see Gaby a little nervous at the beginning but then just see her joking around as part of the crew. Favorite video for sure!
Street tacos are the best.
What do you mean? A lot of these restaurants are gringo traps lol
Oh man totally, the fact that they didn't went to any pretentious restaurant makes the taco tour absolutely LEGIT.
Once the diarrhea subsides, you can eat as much street food as you want. You could also just buy some diapers…
It’s a half joke, different countries have different gut microbiomes. What makes one person sick doesn’t even affect a local. It’s neat, but true.
They went to very pretencious places actually 😅 PUJOL has a Michelin star
Mexican here and I can attest this is the best "Taco" tour I've ever seen. Anyone coming to Mexico City should be referred to this video.
I've been wanting to take a trip to Mexico City for this very activity, good to see a local's stamp of approval. 👍👍
I second your motion, Josh lived the real mexican experience. When I saw he went to Fonda Margarita I was like "He's doing it right"
Yes, i approve this too. Real tacos, nothing super fancy tacos in "restaurant tacos" (like Porfirio's """tacos""" extremely disgugsting tacos) , real opinions, it's a very good way to represent the diversity of tacos here in mexico city
As a Mexican, I don´t even know WTF is achicalada but i know it´s tasty AF!
Tacos, tacos TAAAAA Coooooos!!!! Pasenle Güeros!!!
One word "Pisuarez" he has an amazing RUclips channel covering pretty much Every Street food stand in the Mexico City area, and it's burbs.
"Because your heart is getting bigger
Josh how am I supposed to know you're in Mexico when my screen isn't completely saturated in sepia tone.
Also no wavy screen to show how hot it is smh
That breaking bad colour grading.
hahaha We need the Mexican filter on the video lol
and where is the mexican dude saying hola amigo
This legit made me laugh 😂
Uncle Roger so hungry now
Taco recepie when?
2nd reply
Hayaaaa! Uncle go to Mexico! Theres a secret china town in mexico city! And baja californian chinese food is said to be better than in US!
Make some Uncle Roger certified tacos pls
Fuiyoooo! Uncle Roger!
Huge fan from Mexico. You should come to check out all the delicious food!!!
I don’t know how your content just keeps getting better and better. I’m a former chef. The best way to judge food is tasting things when you’re not hungry. You did that with spectacular class and honesty. You gave respect to the culture and the fact that each place was a small family run joint. You’re so young to be this brilliant. Mad respects.
So true tho
For real, when real skill and a good personality mix. Glad his channel is doing well
For real and FOR SOME REASON people just hating on him for no reason, they acting like he the worst person in the world 😭
Pretty sure the Mexican woman in the video was the expert food guide… not the white dude lol. Praise her for knowing her sh*t
This was such an amazing video, one of my favorites to date. Gaby was so amazing. She helped you navigate and knew exact where to go. Love how she ignored your pain lol

I fell in love with her when she said that
This is the exact moment you know Gaby is a real one
He could’ve gotten the same experience from Taco Bell. (feeling high, but not necessarily feeling good)
My bf is Mexican. When I suggested we do this as like a taco tour, the way his eyes LIT UP was adorable
Do it, just take more time than 24hrs to complete it 😂 no need to rush

The production value of this video is just PURE GOLD.. this video is the gift that keeps on giving.. EVERY aspect of this video is sooooooo well done, so informative and really fun. You've outdone yourself with this one, team.. amazing!
What I appreciate the most from this video, is that it really captures the essence and the diversity of tacos. It’s almost a parallelism to Mexican people, we can be richer or poorer, come from Jalisco or Yucatán, we come in all colors and sizes but at the end we are united by the tortilla.
I'm not Mexican, but man Mexican Food is just on a level on its own. Really really delicious food, even if you don't go for spicy stuff they have an amazing selection of dishes and drinks too. Props to all my Mexicans who make food on a daily basis and bring us the joy of eating such delicious dishes.
95% of the tacos this guy tried are part of our day to day meals. It's a little crazy and awesome to see how bewitched foreigners become with what we basically eat once or twice a week.
@gtkar Will i not get abducted?
@gtkar I love tacos!
@@onjimanano! Why would you be abducted 😂
This is by FAR the best taco tour video I've seen in any country but especially Mexico. The dude is reallyy taking one for the team eating so much in a single day. It would almost seem like the anticipation and subsequent satisfaction level would decrease as you fill up. Shoulda made it a 2 or 3 day taco tour for all these selecciones!
You found it "unusual" to see a taco tour in Mexico?😅🙂
@@RRr-yl8zr Sorry that was your take away. You missed my meaning. Think about it?
@@Professional-fh1ow my comment wasn't for you. That was supposed to go to somewhere else. Oh well youtube. They can't even get their voice to text on here to work properly 🤪
Yeah he's a maniac eating that many tacos at once with a bit of tequila you know to help settle the stomach 😅
Maybe he usually didn't put much salsa on there and maybe only took a bite of some of the tacos instead of eating the whole thing 😅
I can't believe he " knows tacos" but he did not know what a chiltepin was.😲🤪
Oh well probably for the best. 😲😉
Probably for the best that everybody watching this to forget and have no idea what a chiltepin is😁
Gaby was an great addition to this video!!!! She was funny and she knows where the good food is!!!
Josh, as a mexican that has seen your videos for years. THIS is the one I loved the most. Im glad you had the opportunity to try all the tacos!!!
"I've known him since he was very young. And I was young too. Now.... we are still young." Lol
that was adorable
We are all young people of culture that i bet are on their 30 or late 20’s 😂
I read this exactly as the video hit that part. She almost messed up and said she was old and caught herself. So cute.
"If you don't end your night with tongue, what are you doing?"
Wiser words have never been spoken
😂😛
AYYE I'm happy i'm not the only one that caught that
I love tongue and pink tacos.
🌮👅
Tongue is awesome but you can't beat cachete. Next time ask for a mixture. Both tongue and cachete... I promise you 😋 😋 you won't go back
Since Anthony Bourdain I haven’t seen a food tour this good, fun, and seriously informative at the same time. You should do a show for whatever streaming service you want, traveling around!!!!!! Amazing video
Josh is good, but will never be in the same league as AB. He is way too vanilla.
I miss him everyday
@@SteveSherman-jp1dz you wrote it as if someone could even replace A.B. He was one of a kind entertainer and man. Barbacoa is always gonna reign supreme as the best breakfast taco!!
I'm Mexican with a Puerto Rican wife and she looked at me sideways when my family handed her one with sliced avacado on it for Sunday breakfast....until she bit into it!
Now after 25 years together....anyone wanna guess what makes her eyes glass over with tears of joy on a Sunday morning!? Lol!
😂😂😂
As a Mexican married to a Puerto Rican, I agree.
Long time follower and Mexican as well. This is probably one of your best videos up there for me. So much variety and super descriptive for each taco. Most people would not have been able to compare the key differences for all of these tacos you tried. Mexico is so versatile that there are even dozens if not hundreds of versions of tacos you can try. Imagine the rest of the dishes you can try when there. One of the best nations for food overall (said with a little of bias)
Street tacos are amazing. I had one of these in a recent trip and what really got to me was how simple it all was, but all the things that makes it stand out are there - fresh and hot ingredients, the texture and the juices, and of course, the flavor.
It's magnificent.
Good to hear you reference Anthony Bourdain. He always has a favorite in each city that he visits. This is a good one. Thank you for doing this. You have a special little gift that makes your episodes shine.
I've been dealing with depression lately due to a traumatic event on my life, this video made me so happy it made me forget about all that stuff for a while, now I have a short term objective, to try each and everyone of these tacos myself, thank you Joshua, you've been amazing for me ever since I stumbled into your channel.
Good that you found something that keeps you going. I wish you all the best for your mental health.
Today I tried the first place! I went to castacán first, they're so good! Obviosusly I'm not gonna eat 40 freaking tacos in a day so It'll be a several week ordeal for me 😅
Yiaaaaa
I’m sorry that you are going through tough times. Been there myself. If something so “trivial” as a taco has brought you some joyful feelings, and something to look forward, you must follow that path. I’ll guess that’s why we Mexicans put so much effort and love in our food, because we are always striving. And good food is the promise of better things and a daily celebration of life. You might have te world against you, but a simple taco can restore your body and your soul. Sending love and blessings!!!
please I need to see your comment abt the tacos you’ve tried so far in each video!! i’ll follow your journey as I can’t try them myself and wish you the best on your recovery my friend!!! lots of love from arg
Fun fact! Although Cochinita Pibil was the best Lunch taco here, In Yucatán it's almost a tradition to eat Cochinita tacos as Breakfast every Weekend, more commonly on Sunday c:
Gaby was a wonderful co Host. Very entertaining to watch the both of you. and yeah, i crave tacos now :(
yeah, I am booking a flight to mexico city
i'm a mexico city native and i love you how you made this list the proper way: LONG. there are so many types of taco and places to eat good tacos that i was kind of afraid you'd only go to like, seven locations. that said, i am saving all these places in my google maps to visit later
Buys him a insane churro.
Josh "Ima eat this whole thing".
Her "No i won't let you".
Had me on the floor so wholesome but understandable
Her: Proceeds to give him the whole thing 😂
I bet she took that from him like a mom fighting with a toddler!!! 😂😅😂😅
Side note: Mexico City might be the only place in Mexico where you need to ask for cheese on your quesadilla. The rest of the country have it clear lol
Freaking chilangos always ruining it for the rest
The only place in the world. It's just non sense. Foolishness
Why is this the case? It's literally in the name haha
They claim it's a word used by the natives which means "something folded" which is nonsense.
i'm mexican and that's just kinda silly tbh
i'm not from mexico city tho
Loved this!! I first had Al Pastor tacos when I was in Mexico City 30 years ago, and have loved them ever since. And we were in the Yucatan a few weeks ago and I learned all about Cochinita Pibil tacos, including how to make them. Came home and made them for our son and daughter-in-law and they were hands down the best tacos I’ve ever made.
It’s nice you made your own tacos. What kind of tortilla did you use?
Full Time Mexican here, Yes this are Real everyday normal great tacos for Mexico.
Some "High end" restaurants serve very good tacos, but those are not the Tacos all Mexicans Eat.

As a former Chef I can usually duplicate things I've tried. I was in Cozumel. We were heading back to our ship and everyone was hungry. So we called some local place. Don't know which but ordered a bunch of tacos. I am not big on seafood. But someone handed me a shrimp taco. This taco had the biggest shrimp I'd ever seen in my life. Just corn tortilla, shrimp, and salsa. It was the best taco I have ever eaten. I have tried multiple seasonings and techniques and have never duplicated it. I don't know what was they did but it was amazing.
Do you remember the name of the place?
Best seafood in México: Cozumel 🇲🇽🤍

Tex mex! Lol I heard from family it’s true !!!
@@RodvietSo you're saying all the Mexicans who have taco trucks in Texas are not making actual tacos?
There is so much tacos left to eat, for those who knows you only visit a small zone in the city, most of them nice and tourist neighborhoods, but Gabriela nailed in the agenda. Most of the tacos are influenced by other cities in Mexico, like cochinita who is mainly from Merida. Currently Mexican gastronomy is evolving in many weird ways, like tortas, pizza or burritos with tacos, but there are so many traditional Cuisine that is the real thing beyond tacos.
He wasn't making a video of all the tacos in Mexico, was he...
probably the chilango taco for definition is the suadero one, some can say the guisado, but the tacos acorazados are almost the same and are from Cuernavaca, Morelos. Carnitas tacos are from Michoacan, Barbacoa from Hidalgo.
7:10 I love how Joshua seems so comfortable with the hold-the-plate-with-your-pinky-finger technique
That's the mexican way lol

Wish scenes lasted more than 3 seconds per cut. This video was absolutely tiktok diced
@@MrGrimdek blame it on TikTok ruining the average modern viewer's attention span. The algorithm requires you to retain the viewers as long as possible and if the average viewer can't pay attention for more than 10 seconds and your "cut" is 15 seconds, you've lost the viewer and you've lost the algorithm.

Tacos de conchinita pibil have a special place in my heart. My grandpa enjoyed walking daily for decades and he would get to his favorite spot that only served these tacos. He was such a regular there that he had his own sitting spot and they would serve him his perfect order of tacos de cochinita pibil without ordering. Just sit, smile, and he’d be served. He was also very diabetic and that’s a big no no but no one could tell him otherwise because he wanted to eat his tacos🥲 lol rip papa Nico.

Rest in Peace Nico. He for sure lived and loved this beautiful world. Wish I could try his order. lol Take care.
My problem with this dish is that it's kind of like pulled pork in the US: places that get it right get it great, but 80% of the time, it's so dry, it's basically inedible. Again, not criticizing the dish, just saying it's actually not easy to get right.
I'm overwhelmed by the beautiful cuisine 🤤 Josh and Gaby have amazing chemistry and I would love to see a whole series with these two.

+1 for Cafe Tacobar. Super friendly staff, I was there a few weeks ago and drank mezcal with the chef. Love it there. Taco Selene is the best - will probably be any organized CDMX taco tour - it's also open super late (6am on a Friday and Saturday), but don't overlook their tortas either. Apparently their pastor is so awesome that they supply the meat to the restaurant across the road.

Mexico reigns supreme when it comes to food! Simply a taco can be sweet or spicy or umami. ¡Es increíble!
Don't forget the other foods too, tamales are awesome anywhere you go, Oaxaca has great eats, mole can't be beaten, and the awesome seafood. Best octopus I've ever eaten was in Mazatlán. Best fried lobster I've eaten was in Puerto Nuevo. And awesome hot chocolate. ❤

- Cabrito
- Mixiote (wich you gonna love given your predilection for lamb)

This is one of my favorite videos of yours so far! It was great watching your emotional rollercoaster throughout your food tour.
Mexican here! There is a debate on going of Mexico City claiming that quesadillas are without cheese VS the other 31 states arguing back that quesadillas MUST have cheese 😅 I once dig into this and both sides have good points.
Anyway Joss, you should one day taste tacos in their own home states, like tacos de cochinita pibil in Yucatan, tacos de carnitas in Michoacan, etc. Man, we can make them on other places and still, there is something unique when you eat it at their origin that adds to their taste somehow.
The one thing I love about our food is how customized you can make it to your taste, to make it your own. I could eat the same taco as my husband, but each of us will add or avoid certain things according to our taste. For example:
I add cilantro and onion, he doesn't
I add a lot of lemon and a bit of salsa, he adds little lemon and lot of salsa
And so on with most dishes ❤
PS: I drooled seeing all those tacos, I'll definitely visit some of those places next time I visit family in Mexico City
She was great! She was so charismatic

I love this video. I went to Mexico City for the first time just 3 weeks ago. I went to most of these places Josh went to as well!
Me and my team took over a bar called “cafe de nadie” where I debuted a Filipino chicken adobo taco. I thought it was ballsy to try and showcase my food and culture in a country I’ve never been to.
But I was given grace and love still staying true to the taco ways.
Thank you CDMX ❤️
I don’t know why but this was my favorite video yet.
I literally caught myself laughing, enjoying your experience and feeling EXACTLY what you’re feeling because gah damn did the same thing in Mexico on a music cruise hahaha
Easily his best co-host for one of these videos. Such a sassy lady.
The main problem is that if you want the whole taco experience you need to travel all across the country: Asada Tijuana, Birria Guadalajara, Carnitas Michoacán, Cochinita Yucatán, Gobernador Mazatlán, Barbacoa Hidalgo, Pastor and Suadero Mexico City, etc.
