Jason Beer KC guides us through the Post Office Response to the ongoing Disclosure issues as Phase 5 and 6 of the Post Office Inquiry is opened.
One of the key, and largest, elements for disclosure is the discovery of Exchange 365 as a source of information relating to the Post Office Inquiry witnesses and terms of reference.
The Post Office have recently updated the Post Office Inquiry on the progress of disclosure through 9 separate letters to the Inquiry.

So the PO lawyers disclose documents at the last minute, and swamp with hundreds of duplicate or irrelevant documents, then complain that there isn't enough time for their own clients to read them. Classic obfuscation tactics from shameless lawyers that seem to have backfired right up their rear end.

Its about time this Inquiry was wound up now and the corrupt post Office officials and Government officials prosecution procedures should be started !!

The SPOs would surely be much happier if the PO and Fujitsu came out and just said sorry instead of still messing everyone about. Absolutely disgraceful.

How is the Post Office getting away with these delays bordering on obstruction? Do they have compromising pictures of politician having unnatural acts with barnyard animals? What is wrong with the UK legal system? Why so favourable to the rich?

They had an obvious disclosure obligation, that there were issues and problems with their Horizon system, almost from the get go.
If you are running thousands of prosecutions based upon that system’s supposed infallibility and you KNOW that it far from that, that’s the issue for me here. Given their form for breaching CPIA it’s no surprise whatsoever that they continue to foot drag even at this late stage - they’ve got form.

Document delays until the last minute have never historically gone well, making the donor look even worse. Why does POL continually double down? Madness! I smiled at the industrial-strength level of vitriolic abuse their recent savings account advertisement on social media received. All credibility is erased by their own hand.

What I have not heard about so far is about any Crown Office staff having been investigated, dismissed or prosecuted for missing monies with their counter working, given that they were also using the Horizon system. Were the issues only with SPMRs? If the iT problems were general, then crown offices should have had similar issues, or were the problems due to rogue operators in Fujitsu knowing that SPMRs were isolated, self employed and less able to challenge 'errors' or likely to understand or have an independent fall back to a competent Post Office iT department.
