They want a marine cam in it thats going to make all its power down low since a lot of boats dont rev over 4500

Usually has to do with reversion because of the cam. It could possibly suck water in the cylinder with water manifolds . With dry headers or manifolds no problem.

That 330 horse may not be but the cam is going to make power in the wrong powerband. I'd at least get a new marine cam for it

The cam and heads are different for the marine use. A car cam makes power at different rpms. At least change the cam. There something different with the heads as well. He also says the marine 350 isn't a 350. It's closer to a 383. The 350 is too weak from a car.

Mechanical flat tappet is the way to go, super strong and cost effective. Folks whining about "maintenance" are just not real gearheads. I had a comp 294s magnum in a daily driver 81 camaro, 383 stroker, I could leave the valve adjustment alone for 6 months and they would still be good. I ran 12.3 @117mph. Your engine runs GREAT, you got the combbo right, but did you say 60 quench? I would shoot for 35-40, Mr.gasket makes a .020 gasket. I am making assumptions here,, NICE RIDE

How do i get my cam to chop low and hard without having my idle too low, mines have to be set around 500rpm in order for me to hear my aggressive chop how do I keep my chop sound at around 800 or 900 rpm? Its a 350 Vortec engine as well

Nice build,awesome sound..a little brake torquing at the line will lower your 60' and your et. Sounds like youre launching off idle..you should easily be high 10s in my opinion with what you have

Can you please give me the part number to that cam when ever you take it apart.

Might want to drop the rear-end gearing a touch to keep it under 6500. That or find a way to convert it to 4 bolt main or something. Maybe lighten the rotating assembly and just send it to 7000, regardless.

They all sound choppy and rev quick with just a flex plate. Add a converter or flywheel and all that changes.

I have a standard bore 350 vortec heads lunauti 268 cam with a 504 lift air gap intake. Can't wait to take it to the track to see what it does.
