Thats a nice sounding motor you got in that badass little chevy II. Back in the day I noticed a difference when I switched from an hei to an accel bei in my 327 when I was shifting at 7200
@nylegreen261 I think i misspelled it....Pertronix, and they offer several. I think i got the flame thrower you'll like it. Of course upgrading to MSD systems is definitely the way to go for any future advancements
I have no problems with this. I used the distributor because it had a melonized gear on it. Also it worked fine in a 330 horsepower engine at 6500 rpm. I thought it would be fine.
Im a Ford guy, but really love all brands. I enjoy watching anyone improve any engine. I appreciate you and your channel.
Nice Thank You. I'd love to get my hands on a Foxbody. I'd like to try out the trick flow 11r heads.
Very nice. Glad to see problem solved and that sounded like music to my ears.
Thank you. Yes that is part of the fun. It usually doesn't go perfectly.

Nice thank you. I had a hard time believing the distributor made that difference.
I always coat the rotor screws with silicone. Eliminate the spark scatter .
I’m jealous, I can’t even turn the cap on my hei in my nova, it’s butted right up against the firewall
Tightening the spark gap to about .030 or .025 should take care of the miss with stock ignition.
Not a bad idea. I will have to try it.
What fuel pump do you use i see the regulator.
You can also get an upgrade kit for the stock distributor...Petronix makes a kit just for that problem you witnessed
I'm going to look into it thanks.

@@nylegreen261oh and...dig your Nova ! Reminds me of home what your doing, I'm an old Iowa boy myself
Thank you
I've ran stock hei distributors up to 7,500 rpm before. Bone stock except for a timing recurve .
With a lower horsepower engine it would run up to 6700 no problem. When I started making more power I started having problrms.
How much hp u think u pushing
Factory and/or cheap HEI ignition modules crap out at 5,000-5,500 RPM.
Stock HEI chip has been known to be junk over 4 or 5 thou for 50 years . Been solved for 30 or so years .

What’s the solution? Who makes a great ignition module?
