When I buy a home. I don’t care if it depreciates 99%, as.all that does it lower my property taxes. Unless you’re speculating & flipping, does it really matter how much it appreciates? It’s all fictional…I locked in a very low interest rate bs bought the last affordable house before the ridiculous price increase. I’ve been renting said house for 4 years now and it is making me $ because w these interest rates it is a good time to be a landlord in a red state (non-squatter)

Freezeout Hill was named such due to wagons needing to ‘freeze’ their wheels coming into the valley. My relatives related many stories of placing long tree branches through the back wheels of the wagon so it would not rapidly roll down the hill. There is even an old photo in the Historical Society in Emmett of such a practice! I grew up on (old) Freezeout hill.

It’s a horrible place to live. You should definitely consider Kuna or Melba; or rather Meridian to find safety and security in numbers. The people of Emmett might scare you with their guns and religion.

Emmett used to be a charming little AG town. It has lost almost all of that charm. Before you move, you may want to visit with the high school grads who have moved away, with no interest in returning.

When we're ready to move, it won't really matter that much if the TV market is slow or not. The current forecast for the economy is "stagflation" like what was seen in the 1970's. Regardless, we will buy and take a home like Grant took Richmond. The TV market sounds pretty soft relative to the boutique community where I live in California. I recently saw a house go up for sale in our neighborhood that is around 1,730 sq. ft. that really needed work. It sold in 2 weeks for asking price! What I've noticed is that the smaller homes are selling fast and the larger homes are sitting on the market longer. It's really a pretty hot seller's market where I live in California. We have some more to do, but we're inclined to think that making the house show well will allow for some other things to go undone. I've also received "as is" offers from investors on our home recently.

Not a small town. I live in western Idaho and the biggest city in my county has 3200 people and 29 minutes away from me, my town has 600 people. That is small.

Like 6.5 1ce every 20 to 30 yrs. 5:20 - Boise not flood area. High desert 🏜 climate n not particular rainy season. Can b floodin along rivers when great snow fall in the mountains ⛰️ n then it meltd fast. 5:32 - if u liv very close 2 rivr hav flood insurance. Othr than that flood risk's very low. 5:53 - mudslides gen. in Boise area is no concern. Possible 4 mudslides n avalanches in canyon rds. in the mountain. 6:48 - fires a concern in Boise area? Gen. no except foothills which hav brush fires from time 2 time.

When we were there, South Meridian really didn't appeal to us. We can't stand two story homes more than anything else, and it all looks so cookie cutter, not much charm at all. That's okay, because there was a lot in other areas that did stimulate our interest.

The SoMe District (South Meridian) is developing into a great place to live. When it's all done, it will be really nice. Would you enjoy an area like South Meridian?

My sister in law is an American and an ultra conservative. She and her husband are leaving Denver and moving to Idaho. Their neighborhood was destroyed by homeless drug addiction meth heads and overall crime. Colorado once was a golden place. The California people and their communist/socialist attitudes moved in and the place went straight downhill to unlivable and unaffordable. The new voted for property tax just kicked in and regular people just got the new bill with multi hundreds to thousands increase. They love Jesus and 2A and hate Californians. They’ll be a great addition to your state. They can spread the word on what happens if you let them in.
