  • IMPORTANT PATTERN NOTE: I decided to make this mitten using the same Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick Super Bulky yarn but in a different color (Wheat). The completed project turned out bigger than my original pattern. What I discovered is that most of the Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick yarn is 20% wool and 80% Acrylic but there are a few colors (like Wheat) that have a different fiber content. This pattern works best with the original 20/80 blend so check the label if you are making this pattern in a different color. - Thanks for watching everyone!

      Hello from Canada. I am glad you are enjoying the pattern. You are very organized I need to start crocheting for next year.
      It sounds like you found the instructions for the left hand. The instructions are in the video I just don’t demonstrate.
      If you are looking for a hat I have one on my channel using the same yarn just in a different colour so that pattern would go with these mittens. It is pink, purple and pebble grey in the photo but you can make it in any colour to match your mittens.

    Great tutorial - just wanted to clarifying you said front loop but then went into the back loop. Should it be the back loop only? Thanks!

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed the video. You had me worried so I just watched the video and you are definitely working in the front loop only. The front loop can be harder to identify when you are working in the slip stitch. The trick is to look at the row you just completed and identify the two loops before you turn your work. If you watch at 3 minutes 30 seconds into the video it goes over how to identify your front loop. Hope this helps. Happy crocheting.

    • @trinalittlefield6294
      @trinalittlefield6294 7 месяцев назад

      @@woodcampercrochetcraftsyou are working in the back loop. The back loop is always the loop farthest away from you.

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  7 месяцев назад

      I agree the back look is always the loop furthest away. The front and back look can be hard to identify when you are working slip stitches. In the video I am working in the front loop. The easiest way to find the loops is to look at them before you turn your work. I have a headband video on my channel where I do a similar technique with the slip stitch but work in the back loops if you would like to check it out. It creates a tighter ribbing. It is also much harder to work in the back loop of the slip stitch.

    • @morganjansen3651
      @morganjansen3651 5 месяцев назад +1

      I made this same mistake on my first attempt. It is definitely front loop, just hard to tell when you’re looking at it.

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  5 месяцев назад

      @morganjansen3651 glad you were able to figure it out. It can be difficult to identify and that is why it helps to look at the previous row. Thanks for watching.

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  Год назад

      Yes if you use a thinner yarn you will have to adjust the pattern to compensate. I would suggest using a super bulky yarn the fist time you do the pattern and then you can p!ay around and adjust the pattern using a thinner yarn.

    I have absolutely no idea if you'll still reply but I was wondering if u could help me with making this for someone with a bigger wrist? My dad is more comfortable with 36 rows instead of 30 and in kind of lost on how to change the pattern for that

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  Год назад

      In row 1 you would need to do the sequence 6 times instead of five so you have 24 stitches when you finish Row 1 instead of 20. You then need to add 4 extra stitches to each row. Once you get to the thumb hole (row 4) try it on you Dad’s hand and see where you need to add the 4 extra stitches ( before the chain or after) or you might need two before the chain and two after. Hope this helps.

    If we were to decrease the number of rows to make the wrist a little smaller does that change everything else as well? For example when making the single crochets in every other row

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  Год назад +3

      I actually made this with another yarn and made the wrist smaller, as you suggest, but kept the rest of the pattern the same and it worked. The only other thing you have to change slightly is row 1. Just do a row of 20 single crochet as evenly as possible. Thanks for watching.

    • @sarahtrimmeliti2361
      @sarahtrimmeliti2361 Год назад +1

      And just to clarify, you make the wrist smaller by decreasing the rows at the beginning not the chain? Also when you say row 1 is that the chain row or the row after the chain?

    • @woodcampercrochetcrafts
      @woodcampercrochetcrafts  Год назад +2

      To clarify I chained the same but did two less rows to make the wrist tighter. When I said 20 sc in row one I meant the first row of the body of the mitt. Hope that answers your question. You could also change the wrist height my starting with a shorter chain.

    • @sarahtrimmeliti2361

      Got it! So not alternating between one single crochet and two in the same stitch
