  • I wanted to create a pair of mittens that were made vertically to match my Fisherman's Cap pattern and also something that would be pretty simple. These don't take too long. I probably spent an hour each so two hours in total. Perfect for gifting or matching with a hat.
    Size Medium fits an 8" palm, is 9" long and has a 2" cuff (adjustable)

    I made a mistake, I meant to put 3.5mm NOT 3.25mm. I've fixed it everywhere else, but can't fix it in the video.

    This is an interesting way of making mittens.
    My very first introduction to crochet was making mittens: it was a craze in my school. But I had two left thumbs when it came to any textile work, and I was terrified, couldn't get my head around making the thumbs. That was a time before computers had more than white text on black screen and everything was on floppy disks in top universities. Now it is easy to learn new skills even if nobody you know has a clue, thanks to videos and content creators like you! 🙏❤

      Awesome! Yeah I learned how to crochet in the pre youtube days from books and dvds. The internet is amazing as a visual learner. Anything I want to try I can watch here first. Community is so much easier as well, no need for a local crochet club when you have the entire internet.

    I just finished these mittens, they turned out great. Mine are a little big so I could probably line them for better insulation in the winter. Thanks a lot for this pattern :)

      Awesome! Yeah you could line it or maybe add thrums.

    I must have done something wrong, because mine turned out awful 😅 The wrist is way too big, but the thumb and the hand width are perfect. Also it's way too long, I'm pretty sure I could fit my foot in it! I'm too disappointed to give it another go right now, but yours are beautiful!

      Aw, I'm sorry it didn't work out. If the wrist width is the only problem maybe you could run a couple lines of elastic thread around it to make it snugger?

    I'm wantingvto know if I could use a bigger hook an F or G

      Maybe an F, but you run the risk of the mittens ending up too big, unless you're a tight crocheter.

    Hey :) do you think I can make them with yarn 50g and 3,4-5mm hook ? 195m

    • @Corduroykidd
      @Corduroykidd  6 месяцев назад

      Hi, I'm not really understanding what you're asking, can you maybe reframe your question? Also you might need more than 195 metres for both mittens. I used about 100-150 metres per mitten.

      Sorry! I was wondering if I had enough yarn with 195m/50g! Thanks for answering!
