    Finally! A mitten/glove that I can get behind! Simply, pretty, cozy, and snug. You had me until we got to the cuff. LOL SC's kill me. I find them tedious and monotonous, and it took me about 45 mins alone for the first cuff. I wonder if there is an easier style cuff to make that doesn't take an hour for the cuff alone, LOLOL. I absolutely love this pattern though and will be making more for my family! Thank you for your great instructions too! Perfect!

    This pattern is so easy to follow! Thank you!
    This is SLIGHTLY too small, would adding 2 stitches from the start help expand the size a little bit? An adult medium would be too small for my hands!
    Any feedback is appreciated - thanks!

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  9 месяцев назад

      Hi! If it's only slightly too small, the easiest thing to do would be to go up a hook size or 2. Or you can make the next size up, and if you think that will be too large, then you can follow those instructions but go down a hook size or 2. Adding in extra stitch will throw off the stitch count for the rest of pattern so it will create more work for yourself to try and figure that out! Hope that helps!

      So happy you like it! You can replace the cuff with some rows of double crochets or something else if you'd prefer!

      @@TheTurtleTrunk I know but I was determined to do the stitch if it killed me. I must have ripped the first mitten apart 6 times. 2nd mitten was better. Now that stitch doesn't scare me🙂

    I’ve been wanting to make my first mittens and everyone that I have tried had been hard for me escort this one! It was so easy to make and I was so excited how it turned out!! Thank you so much for sharing and helping me make my first mittens! Also a question, I only had acrylic Red Heart Super saver number 4 on hand, will that work or would wool be better? What did you use?

      So happy you enjoyed this tutorial! Super Saver will absolutely work! I used I Love This Yarn which is also a 100% acrylic yarn

    Question - I am working on the Adult Medium size. After round 8, how many rounds of FPDC do I do before I start on the cuff? I am 10 years old and working on this for my mom. I love your patterns. They are beautiful.

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 года назад +3

      You will work a total of 21 Rounds then start the cuff. After Round 8 for the Adult Medium size you need to work 7 more rounds (to Round 15) then Rounds 16 & 17 you'll work the thumb hole. Hope that helps!

    Thank you for this beautiful pattern! I am struggling with rows 6-8. I notice that I keep increasing with each row, but I am not sure why. I think I am following the directions carefully and went back and reviewed the visual instructions for those rows, but I am not doing something right.

      You really have to make are you're only working 1 stitch into each stitch. It can be tricky alternating the DC + FPDC and working into the right spots, so just make sure you're only working 1 stitch into each stitch and not working a DC + FPDC into/around the same stitch. Also note that the CH 2 does not count as a stitch. I hope that helps!

    Mine keeps coming out so much bigger. I even went down a needle size. Is this bulky yarn?

    • @TheTurtleTrunk
      @TheTurtleTrunk  2 года назад

      I used medium 4 weight yarn. You may just have a much looser tension than I. You may need to go down 2 hook sizes.

Def going to do the mittens, and make a scarf in the same pattern....hoping the hat gets released in time..or I'll wing it and do the best I can. Thank you for the quick reply!
