I don't read patterns well as I'm fairly new to crocheting so finding your video was a bonus for me. Your explanation of this pattern helped me tremendously. I just finished this beanie at 1:30 a.m. All of my crocheting is done at night because my house is very busy during the day. I WAS SO EXCITED. I WOKE MY HUSBAND TO SHOW OFF MY WORK.
I have learned from your patterns how tight of a crocheter I am, haha. Do I swatch? Nah. I live recklessly lol 🤣 But I love these patterns and I make them work! ❤️
haha! The funny thing is, I am quite a tight crocheter so you much have a super tight tension! That's ok though! As long as you're able to make them work! So happy you enjoy my patterns! Thank you!
This is the best fit crochet hat pattern I've found. Very accurate fit. Not baggy or tight. I've shared your creations with my crochet friend so she is also going to start making your patterns. She has been crocheting for like 50 years but when I showed her this hat I made, she was very impressed.
Beautifully explained! Also, this is the best demo of the ´magic circle´ I have seen so far. AND I love that you worked the brim right into the body of the hat rather than making the brim separately and attaching it later. Thanks so much for sharing this!
Thank you for a really clear video tutorial. I appreciate the stitch count throughout and the explanation of exactly where to slip stitch for each round!
I am so happy to see this video. Clear, easy to see if you make a mistake……I am not experienced and tried beautiful patterns beyond my limit and got very frustrated. After I finish one like this maybe I’ll keep going till I feel confident to try more. Thank you so very much, no mused and a lovely clear soothing voice.😊 Now I am not sure if there was music as I usually turn it off😂
Thank you for this tutorial! I love that you explain how to make the different sizes instead of just telling people to go to your blog, its such a pain when you have to flip back & forth from a pattern to youtube. I made the adult size small for myself as well because when I measured my head it was the same but for me I think I would make the bigger size, it was a bit tighter than I'd like & the brim didn't look long enough. I think I'm going to give it away as a gift. I also made it into a pony tail hat so I just skipped round 1 & started at round 2 & it works great.
I really liked this pattern. It worked up quick and looks more complicated than it is! I especially liked how the brim was worked. Have always disliked top down hats but this changed my mind!
Thank you for sharing video tutorials. This was definitely a learning experience for me. The brim took more time than other hats. And now the finished beanie will make one poor child warmer
This is a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge! You are an amazing teacher. Everything was explained and demonstrated so clearly. I love this beanie and with your help I think i can create one, too. This is my next project. 🙏❤
This is a beautiful pattern. I'm a knitter but I think I can handle this. Your instructions and watching your hands complete each stitch give me more confidence to try it. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.
Great tutorial. Especially for a beginner like me. I love that you listed the materials needed on the description. And the tutorial video itself has instructions that are clear and easy to understand. Thank you so much 😊
I have a suggestion (two really) to help with the final look, if I may. I use both of these tricks whenever I am doing anything where I need a round base.to work from, and/or need a slip stitch to close a row. First, the slip stitches at the end of the rounds, do them from behind and they finish so beautifully! Not that the ones you have done look vad in any way, but on smaller yarns, a standard slip stitch can fininsh less gracefully, so a slip stitch from behind is a handy trick to have up you sleeve and isn't a hard switch to make (it is my standard for every project now). And second, to minimize the hexagonal look, you can offset each increase set by starting on round with it then starting the next round with one stitch abd finishing with an increase. It would look like this (R1:8 HDC, R2: 2HRC in each HDC in R1) R3: (HDC, 2HDC)REP to increase to 24, SS from behind in first stitch. R4: (2HDC, 1 HDC in next 2) REP around.... Etc... R5: (1 HDC in next 3, 2HDC) REP around SS ETC.... it just makes it slightly less hexagonal and slightly more round.
Thankyou for this video! I have tried so many beginners videos and this one helped me the most. I was in tears having to re-do so many hats. I can do this one~ I am a follower now :)
I have made many of your patterns for friends and family. I swear I thought I subscribed. I am now subscribed and thank you for your wonderful patterns. Love from Alaska 🏔️🙋🏻♀️💕
@@TheTurtleTrunk That one is a gift for my nephew’s girlfriend. It came out so nice that I am going to make a couple more as gifts and one for myself too!! I might also try making the matching mittens from your video. I truly thank you for putting such wonderful videos available to us wanna be crocheters on you tube.😃
Allie, this is awesome! The brim method is a game changer. I hate when I have to make the brim first and “guesstimate” how far apart to space the correct # of stitches as the foundation for the top of the hat😡! I just completed the beanie and it is beautiful!
Perfect pattern. Easy to follow. I had about 6" of yarn left. I made a short brim of 5 stitches so it will not get folded over, but fit their head. I made child size. Would like to share a photo but not sure how.
I have been bored with the winter hats that I have been making. I whipped this up in a couple of hours and it is so easy. It is also an easy pattern to start at the brim.
Thanks for the tutorial Love the pattern ❤ Did the brim in two colours, not enough yarn 😂 It turned out really well, I even like it better than just one colour
Thank you so much I made my daughter and son Mickey and mini mouse hats with this pattern and I love it it is fast and easy and so pretty for either gender
Thank you for this tutorial. I’m a beginner but I’m sure I can follow your instructions. Love your beanie and gloves. Waiting for my yarn and I’ll start as soon as receive it. Aloha from Hawaii. 😊
Thank you! And yes I am, at the end of a round you will join to the 1st ST of that round. Then you will work the 1st ST of the next round into that same stitch.
Good video...only suggestion to get a smoother edge and more strength on the connection from the brim to the body of the hat is to put a sc into the first and the 13th stitch on the brim on every row.
I love this pattern. I have made it several times now and it has become one of my favourites. Thank you! It feel snug and comfy.

I crochet tight too! I’ve learn to go up a hook size it works a lot of the time. Good luck!
Me too ha ha
Same!
I'm going up a hook size because mine are to tight also.

I have been crocheting for over 40 years and I've never seen a hat brim done this way. 😍
I’m going to try my hand at it tonight!

Great Job! Well done
Love this pattern so much!! I can’t tell if you are beginning each round in the same stitch as joining or not?? I think so but not sure…🤔
Thank you! And yes I am, at the end of a round you will join to the 1st ST of that round. Then you will work the 1st ST of the next round into that same stitch.
