You've answered one of my prayers Ali! And I kept my promise by clicking and watching start to finish! I actually NEED cute baskets to organize things at home, and I will certainly follow this tutorial next week for sure! If you haven't done so already and would consider doing so- I'm also looking to learn how to make SQUARE storage baskets, the same or similar to the ikea sized ones! I need and want to make my storage solutions aesthetic and cute- my linen shelves, my closets, my out of season accessories, my book shelves, my supply shelves... everything! If even you post one of THOSE, I will be on that in a FLASH!!! Thanks again for this round basket tutorial, I will most certainly proceed with this one very soon! Fawn 😊🩷
Absolutely beautiful basket, and thanks that the tutorial was clear and understandable, really enjoyed it, will be making one soon. So glad I found your channel.
If I make this with T-shirt yarn, will I still need to use double strands or will single strand give me a sturdy basket? Thanks so much for this detailed tutorial…
it seems that you move the increase stitch placement of the round at the beginning and end of the round. Am I right? that must have a better look to the end product.
Hi! (sorry for the late reply) Yes this was something new I tried, starting the increase in different spots each round, it is supposed to give the basket a perfect circle bottom. When you start the increases in the same spot each round, it will make the bottom more of a hexagon shape.
What are the dimensions of your base and height? I am using size 6 super bulky yarn with a 6.5mm hook, so it is coming out smaller. I'll need to add more increase rounds to adjust for the differences.
don't be fooled you don't need two strands of bulky yarn to make it stand up or 4 strands of medium or worsted yarn. all these will stand up straight on their own its down to the technique. the only difference is the basket will be different thickness just like the weight categories are thicker and thinner strands from each other.
No one is being fooled. The directions as given will give a sturdy/robust basket. If you use a, let's say, a 4 size worsted weight yarn, the basket will be nowhere near the size or as sturdy.
Definitely not true. I’ve made several baskets and the ones that didn’t use numerous yarns or bulky yarns were floppy and did not hold their shape, regardless of the technique (and I’ve attempted several).
I would definitely be cutting my yarns when I change colors. Those loose strands would get caught on whatever you toss inside the basket. And this is just my opinion, but it looks unprofessional. Sorry. The pattern otherwise is very nice!
You can do what you prefer! No need for these negative comments geez. What is with you people, everything Ali makes is so professional, I think she is a star 💫 🌟 ⭐️

Hey what did you end up figuring out I am using a G/6-4.25 mm hook because it’s all o can find rn! 🫣
@maggieballard452 I ended up making my base 10 inches wide, then switched to a single crochet pattern I found for the rest.

Yup, totally agree
Why talk like that? She has chosen 2 strands for the chunky look and it will stand up better. I love all Ali’s designs she is a clever chick. 😊
You should delete this comment it is so unhelpful 🙏

@@didi8835 the comment wasn’t a negative, critical comment, but was constructive, and in my opinion a good, helpful one. 💕
@@libbylandscape3560 it’s really isn’t very nice to tell a creator that there works looks unprofessional.
@@didi8835 I didn’t. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism because that’s how we learn.
