I am a little behind the times with making the Bernie Mittens but they have been on my wish list for awhile! This video inspired me to finally do it! I am new to crochet and have knitted since I was 14. I was going to knit a pair but when I saw how easy you made this look, I decided to try it. It was a challenge, but I finished one mitten and I am sure the 2nd one will be easier. The center stitch was a challenge (especially with my dark brown yarn) but your trick of getting into the stitch really helped. My cuffs turned out wider than the mitten so I am not sure what I did wrong. I even used a smaller hook for the cuff. Did you use bulky yarn with a weight of 5? I may take the cuff off, do some decreasing, and try it again. Thanks so much!

Very good tutorial. I just finished it as a kitchen glove with cotton yarn and it looks great. Thank you for this video.
I want to make it with cotton yarn as well. May I ask why size hook you used and how big the mitten turned out?
