Making the thumb hole is a bit confusing in the written instructions. Wish you could have shown how to do it instead of skipping on how to do it.

What an interesting stitch! Makes me wonder how people come up with these unique and unusual things. Utterly amazing!

These are very nice mittens. You are truly amazing at getting up close so it's very easy to follow. However I had to make a couple adjustments for my mittens. I finished the first one and after joining with slip stitches as you instructed, I turned it inside out and the join was so unsightly and took away from the beauty of the pattern. So I removed the join and worked from the right side so I could see how it was looking. I was able to make the join much less noticeable. Then I tried to put it on my hand and the ribbing was far to tight for my hand to get through. So I undid that first mitten and used a larger hook for the ribbing. It came out perfect. I made a thumb to attach and it wasn't pretty. So I joined my yarn to the mitten and crocheted the thumb right on the mitten. I kept trying it on for the perfect fit. I sincerely hope you aren't offended by these adjustments. I could never have made these without your wonderful instructions. I simply hope my comment can help others who are having trouble making them. Sometimes we have to tweak a pattern because we are using different yarn. I used Loops & Threads Cozy Wool 50% acrylic and 50% wool, a super bulky 6.

They're really lovely. I so like the color. Please make a long scarf to go with the hat and mittens set? (Or tell me how many chains I have to work for a scarf of approximately 60 inches, please? Thank you. And thank you for the free pattern and video!)

I love the pattern! It looks so elegant and like it's knitted, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Just on the side, you have the cutest way to pronounce "bar" --- almost sounding like you're saying "burr" haha!

Ciao scusa, non riesco a capire come si effettua il foro per il pollice e quante maglie per creare il pollice. Grazie mille

Do you think it's possible to do this pattern if I use baby blanket yarn and use a bigger hook + crochet less rows? I'm trying to make these for a snow bunny costume, so I want them to be super fluffy! Thanks in advance!

I’m thinking of using a fluffy yarn too, let me know how it turns out if you end up doing it! 🌸

@@Becoming.potatoesI’m currently doing it with the rainbow chunky yarn and an 8mm hook. Confused by the thumb though.

It's always a bit disconcerting for me when right at the beginning there's a discrepancy between the video instructions and the written pattern.
You say, in the video that for ROW 1 your starting with a chain of TWENTY (20) to make the ADULT MEDIUM size. The pattern says that's the KIDS size and instructs to chain TWENTY-FOUR (24) for the ADULT MEDIUM. That leaves me unsure which is correct (and wondering how many more "errors" I might encounter).

I did the chain of 20, like in the video, and it was small for my adult hand, half of my fingers were out 😬

Ladies, I always try on my mittens and hats while making them. This pattern is so different being made in a rectangle then sewn together, that it needs to be tested in a different way. I chained 24 due to your comments and got done with one row, tried it against my hand and it's HUGE! I am now trying the 20 chain and it's going to fit fine. Remember they will stretch a bit. I can't imagine not testing projects early. Hope this helps you.

Noticed this while trying to figure out the thumb hole, putting it against my hand it barely reaches my first knuckles. Very disheartening

I made the large adult size and it came out far too small for my liking, besides the thumb which I ended up shortening by two rounds. I would definitely size the pattern for the main form up by 4ish stitches.
