- Recently it was said that the cost to be able to run electric trucks is going to be one trillion dollars! The Sunday Rant finds that ridiculous. Who will pay for that? Us, that's who. Environmental people are ruining the country little by little. Let's just say no to electric semis.

I can't believe every news organization isn't talking about the national debt. 34 trillion dollars. 1 trillion dollars a year in interest. It's like me paying my credit card bill with another credit card.
Nobody cares because obviously the government has no intentions of paying off the deficit. Been a deficit since the 60’s. Years ago back in the late 70 s when I was going to buy my Truck The small business association told me as long as I had a contract with a company I didn't have to pay tax on the Truck and you said about getting rid of the 12% . I thought they already did that.

I deliver to a place that has electric yard dogs. Dude is wearing a snow suit in the winter running it. Guess maybe no heat ? It will be logistics nightmare trying to figure out how to get all the trucks charged and moving on a daily basis. Then need battery power when sleeping in the truck unless they are building bunk houses for the drivers to use for sleeping. Instead of reserve a shower have to get in line to get a bed for the night.
I wonder how long the batteries will last?
There isn’t even enough parking as it is in doubt they would go build bunk houses but hey, you never know 😂

I am confused. You have to strip mine (requires fossil fuel) the crap out of the earth for minerals to make the batteries, make the trucks which requires fossil fuel, charge them with electricity which comes from 75% fossil fuel. How are we saving the environment?

I don't care about electric trucks. I am young enough I will probably have to drive one before the autonomous overlords force me out of driving. But I hate the mandated timeliness for it. when it gets just as good or better people will naturally switch over. just like semi trucks switching from gasoline to diesel people will go to what works best.
