  • Dodge claimed the next gen cars are BEV but their social media says otherwise.
With recent photos released about the Charger Daytona having a sizeable transmission tunnel, people are starting to come around to the idea the Charger Daytona and other Dodge vehicles won't only be EV's but ICE in the same chassis. But some other RUclipsrs still have a problem seeing how this possible or if a new V8 is truly coming. I will point out all the clues and even Dodge's own social media hinting at a V8 being extended and renewable...

I never liked RacerX! He was just a bit too vanilla for me. "I like the burble of a V-8 to."who the hell says burble!? and he always seem to be on the side of the manufactures. Like whatever they told him to say, he’ll say just so he can fit in. With that being said, your evidence on dodge creating a new, V8 is kind of slim. I hope you’re right, but still I would like some more evidence of this. But on the other hand, you gave us more to chew on then Racerx.

I say a collaboration with Butter Da Great and Racer X would very interesting discussing new details on Dodges real hidden engines soon to be released. That hurricane engine should have been released years ago in the Rams and Jeeps to show the durability and affordability of it. Now with the spray in cylinder liners I don't trust the block integrity to handle any horse power over 600.

@Roddy_Zeh it's at the front like normal. In fact, the engine is STRONGLY reminiscent of the Toyota 2JZ architecture. But I guess if you're going to copy an engine, that's a good one. My only real concern is with the direct injection, but outside of that I think it'll do well.

    Here's my take:
Generally speaking, when a new model comes out, a lot of people wait until the model has the "bugs shaken out" before committing to it. Dodge knows this, so they hyped up the "last call" thing on the old models to sell as many as they could, knowing they wouldn't sell as many of the new ones.
I agree they probably always had a new V8 option of some sort in their back pocket, because they know going "all in" on EV right now is not entirely the best move. The charging network is still not in the best shape (especially in the area between Kansas and the Rocky Mountains) and gas stations are EVERYWHERE and none of them are putting in charging options... YET.

Hydrogen is already dead and EV's killed it. Where I am living at we just had a company try to start a "green hydrogen production facility". Everyone both left and right shot it down hard. They are trying to put them in the desert and that is a no go due to the high water demand to create hydrogen. Burning hydrogen isn't green either and produces NOX emissions. Using solar and wind to produce it is a waste of energy. You really need solar or wind power to cost effectively produce hydrogen as it's an also highly energy consumptive process. Then with hydrogen you don't get back near the amount of energy it took to produce it.

Tuned for torque with ugly cast iron exhaust manifolds perhaps 400 hp, maybe 440 hp for the base engine, way down on Ferrari's 605 NA hp.
I can't see Dodge doing a clean sheet design and the F136 dates from 2001 and was designed as a performance engine from day 1 and seems a design flaw free design.

I finally figured out what Dodge is doing. When they squeeze as much money as they can out of all the last call hype, and the thousands of unsold Hemi’s are sitting on dealer lots because no one can afford them due to mark ups, and interest rates, they will then announce the new models of Charger and Challengers with supercharged V8s on a lighter chassis. All this EV and Inline 6 development is fake. Even showing how bad that inline 6 drag pack was is on purpose. It’s a misdirect so they can eventually go back to a V8 and be the big hero’s in the end. Remember “New Coke”. Same idea. They can have their hype and eat it too!

Why would Dodge spend all the R&D money if the Hemi V8 is DEAD! I think this Last Call is going to be known as the BIGGEST MARKETING Coup in Automotive History and depending on how Dodge and Stellatis plays their hand next will determine if Stellatis will be around and Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Chrysler will be looking at either Bankruptcy or someone else stepping in to Bail them out or will the US Government step in with Tax Payers money to keep them afloat. Butter, I love this video and all the quality research and info you've put into it. Just as Dodge lied to its customers in order to falsely inflate demand and price thereby giving Dodge all this extra publicity and falsely perceived brand exclusivity, Dodge also lies about the 0-60mph time of the Demon 170 by measuring it using a rollout not via a standing stop and in 2018 Dodge CEO publicly stated they wouldn't use rollout when launching the original Demon. And Dodge is also enabling dealers to illegally price fix. What a terrible way for Dodge to salute 1 final big finger goodbye to its customers and to American freedom and independence which the Hemi has always stood for, by breaking their own exclusivity promises to their customers, enabling their dealers to gouge customers and being hypocritical by lying about the 0-60 time. Dodge you've lost your way and sold out.
As a former SRT8 owner, I love the Last Call editions and all things Dodge and Hemi, or at least I did love them. Dodge's new all electric Charger is HORRIFICLY UGLY! And the fake exhaust is akin to Milli Vanilli's lip sync fraud years ago and we all know how that turned out. I don't care if this new spaceship has 1 million HP, being all electric it lacks SOUL (and it pollutes no less than anything else because batteries are inherently polluted products and rely on coal to generate electricity and wind is not reliable. Remember the Texas winter a few years ago with failed windmills?!?! And car batteries rely on child slave labor in Africa to mine the necessary cobalt).
I could go on but the point is that this is NOT a muscle car or e-muscle or whatever Dodge wants to call this thing - it's a representation that Dodge lacks the COURAGE and WILL to buck the political pressures to go all electric. It's sad, so very sad, that Dodge won't even maintain just ONE NA Hemi engine. Having the courage and will to disregard such BS political pressures are at the essence of a true American muscle car and Dodge has lost it, whereas Ford for example has so far maintained it's courageous American stance. Moreover, the fact Dodge CEO has publicly stated that since all these dumb spaceships can be upgraded wirelessly, that means they ALL have to be fitted for future upgrades at times of purchase, which means that customers will have no choice but to OVERPAY for a spaceship fitted with options they may never want or use. Anything short of a true Hemi is a failure and I'll never buy another Dodge vehicle. I should have kept my 2008 Charger SRT8! Let's pray that Mustang doesn't cave to these same pressures.

I dunno,,, I’m still skeptical on the v8 thing,,, there definitely not finna be another Hemi but another new v8 could possibly be in the works,,, but if they are making the hurricane I6 their new face of American Muscle… I really don’t see a new v8 for at least 5-7 years. I hope I eat my words cause I love I6s and I love v8s either way I’m fine.

Honestly I wouldn't doubt that's the case. Gotta "hype" up whatever they have left of a demographic as much as they can on the premise that the V8's are supposedly going away..

If they do .. they are a lot more fortunate than me. I do like the hurricane, but then again I'm not one of those close minded guys who doesn't understand new technology and what kind of cars make big power. I also don't spend all my time bashing the people that make these cars so there's that
