- Dodge's long time CEO retires before the brand turns electric
Tim Kuniskis oversaw one of the greatest time periods in automotive history during the second golden era of Muscle Cars. Reviving classic muscle car philosophy lead Dodge to dominate car culture for almost an decade but as the Government made stricter emissions and multiple corporate mergers, Dodge and all the other brands are starting to fail. With Tim now out, can Dodge's new CEO Matt McAleer right the ship for Dodge? Or will the brand continue to fail under EV mandates and cheap quality issues Stellantis is pushing company wide?

No V8s, no manual transmissions, no Tim, no thanks. RIP dodge.

@@roddycreswell8613How the heck does one man y’all are the sheep I ain’t even for EVs but to hate one guy and assume he’s the only one who makes laws you are a sheep and don’t get how our government works
Shoulda told tim to change the interior the past 7 years
Everyone thinks he's so invested into cars he didn't want to leave. Tim is a multi millionaire and probably got tired of hearing everyone crying about EV Charger. Now he can do what he wants to.if I was him, I would probably sell my advice on products to other manufacturers and not get tied to a single manufacturer.
He is passionate about cars that's why most people actually liked him as CEO. He wouldn't leave unless he absolutely couldn't take the bullshit anymore and that's exactly what is happening
@IxXDOMINATORXxI I'm sure he hated endorsing The Banshee with the fake speaker exhaust. It made him look like a fool. It's hard to believe that V8's had to go when Ford still has them in their trucks and the Mustang. Hopefully he goes somewhere that still wants real performance vehicles in their car lineup.
@@IxXDOMINATORXxIIf he was really passionate, he wouldn't have sold out and peddled their bullshit in the first place.

It would be hilarious if Tim went to Tesla😂
Much better video, time wise. Very informative and to the point.
As a Stellantis employee, this whole situation scares the hell out of me and pisses me off to no end! They took an extremely profitable and popular company and are burning it to the ground with bad management and one terrible decision after another!!!
Agree with everything you said. If you talk to Tim again, please give him our love and support. REALLY want him to stay in the game, excited to see what he gets up to once any non-compete/non-disclosure agreements he may or may not have expire.
Maybe Stellantis is trying to copy BMW with the I6. BMW has 3,4,and 6 cylinders derived from the same inline engine architecture. Problem is this isn’t BMW and customers want V8s in their large vehicles not something boosted to the sky in order to move all that body fat.
Yea boost tanks reliability, there is no car company out now that actually is making quality products and actually listens to their fans/customers
The only six I’d have is an inline diesel. I never have been interested in a $100,000 car or truck with a gas straight or V6.

As usual, spot on. Just one thing, everybody seems to forget that MOPAR had one foot in the grave 15 years ago under Cerberus. FCA was not a bad set up. They're the one that turned Kuniskis and SRT loose. Then, Sergio Marchionne passed. Looking back, that day was the death sentence for CDJR...
Don't downplay your channel Butter, it's solid. Hope that you're enjoying your new ride...
Tim's smart to leave before he is left holding the bag of the CDJR mess, Stellantis and others are responsible for the mess not Tim.
Stellantis was wrong by firing 94% of FCA worker's
It's done for dodge
We stills need that V8 Hemi and

We still need internal combustion engines (ice) not EVs 🤬😠😡

I've been a Dodge and Jeep person since 1969. I drove Jeeps in the Militart for 8 years. During that time in 1971 I ordered a 1971 Plymouth Cuda and 6 months later it was stolen outside my barracks never to be found. So I ended up buying a Jeep and drove this until 1976 until I finally left the service. From 1977 to now I've alway drove a Jeep!! I have a real feeling Stellantis will ending up doing away with Dodge. Their only vehicle will be EV and keep the Ram and Jeep for gas type vehicles!
Stellantis: British Leyland in 2024 😂
Incase you didn't know what British Leyland is.
It's a notorious cooperation back in 80s that absorbed every single British car companies under one umbrella, Then completely brought down the entire British car industry on its knees

@No_Fox_Given_ but everyone seems to like the "widebody"! I think it ruins the lines of the challenger.
Charger looks really good though.
@@davidmitchell5638 I agree it works well on the Charger being a more modern curvy car. On the retro boxy Challenger it just looks ridiculously out of place to me.
Wife and I have owned a '70 Roadrunner, 3 modern Challengers and a Trackhawk. And this year we bought our first Ford, a Mustang. Stellantis killed Dodge. Screw 'em.
Don’t forget Ol Carlos was stressed about cost cutting but Scrooge still found a way to get a large pay raise
Mercedes Benz just announced they are giving up on luxury ev. The reason is obvious why. The only difference between one ev to the other is plastic molding and emblems. Nothing to get excited about…
My money will go to where Tim K is going because I know the performance, brand identify and just the madness is going to be there.
Thank you for everything Tim
We had a good run ,something to remember for sure.
The Stellantis board thought just because Sergio had a pulse on the US market that Carlos would. Bad bet. John Elkann will ride off with his golden parachute and Agnelli trust fund. If he had any dignity he would go to Detroit for however long it took to fix CDJR, but he doesn’t.
Sergio had an office at FCA headquarters in Auburn Hills, and was there regularly.

You're right Butta' I test drove a 2025 Ram 1500 this past weekend and the quality was trash. The windshield wasn't even sealed properly at the plant and there was air coming in around the glass. Crazy!
They did 5000 passes with the 2018 Demon to test durability before being sold to the public. This video is spot on. They let quality control go the past few years and it's sad 😔

Stellantis is the "Freightliner" of the passenger car and work truck world.
Just research the difference between the Freightliner trucks of the 1990's, and 2000 and newer. New CEO with new sales and quality philosophy. Still building and selling trucks, but none really worth having. They dumped the good models.
Stellantis has done the same thing with MOPAR and company.
Dodge have never been known for building quality vehicles, neither is the entire FCA group. But people buy them because they were very affordable.
Today? Stellantis is trying to sell low quality cars at a Premium price. I don't understand who are their customers.
Im just hoping dodge holds up long enough to get past my warranty period.
Tim is a genius and word is that GM already has something up there sleeves. No Camaro, no Malibu, no nascar involvement so this a perfect time to bring back Pontiac. 2026 marks 100 year anniversary. John Deloren was at Chevy then moved to Pontiac. Don’t be surprised if he ends up at GM with the task of bringing back the Firebird.
Its crazy how my 2020 Charger SCATPACK will be my last Dodge product. Damn shame what the Italians did to FCA.
The Italians (FCA) embraced us and our culture. You’re meaning to say the French (Stellantis)
@@tezz015Elkann was the guy who thought Stellantis was a good idea
No, the US market did this after they decided that Chrysler and Dodge products weren't worth their dollars before 2009. Chrysler screwed up, and it wasn't the first time. They've been doing it for decades, even getting bailed out when the government wouldn't do the same for AMC. They finally got what they deserved, and hopefully, Stellantis loses billions on their investments so an American company can buy them out and restore the legacy of the fastest, loudest, and most creative cars in the business.
Hey the old ones will always be around

I wonder if this event is in anyway connected to the "fake" Pontiac add in Car & Driver.
I have more respect for Tim for leaving this sinking ship. I tell everyone the only reason I bought my Scatpack was because Pontiac and the Firebird are defunct.
This exit is best known as a lateral arabesque. Whatever happend to the Captain going down with the ship?
I wonder if they would sell cdjr to a Chinese company. I don’t see anyone in the us that would buy them. Me and my family have been diehard mopar but it saddens me that when the time comes for another vehicle mopar isn’t going to be one of them

If Stellpower said it, its more than likely true. Patrick doesn't put out false info. With that being said it Sucks to see Tim leave. He took what Ralph started and improved on it big time. He gave the people what they wanted and brought back the horsepower/muscle car battle between brands

As a muscle car owner. I would never buy an EV or a 6 cylinder turbo or not.
I watched a RUclips video that stated that tim or dodge has nothing to do with killing the v8. It was the govt. And their fuel regulations. Stellantis paid millions to EPA for violating their emission laws. They even had to buy EPA credit from Telsa who has an abundance of credit because none of the cars have emissions. So they were losing money trying to keep the v8 hemi alive. None of them wanted this to happen but what choice do they have at this point? The govt killed the muscle car error in the 60s and now again in current times
This Stellantis Merger needs to broken up. The Chrysler Group Brands (Chrysler,Dodge, Jeep, and Ram) needs to go back to being independently its own company.
Timothy Kuniskis: This is the way DODGE does EV's.
A little bit forward Timothy Kuniskis is retired...
What happened?
I think TK was asked to "retire" by stellantis management/CEO. He likely said see ya, woudn't wanna be ya, and he will reappear elsewhere.
I liked Tim. I wish Tim was still at Dodge making V8’s
The blame goes to the Government regulations for the Hemi going away
@@Deke1no it’s not. If it was then why GM and Ford still making V8s? Because dodge did it to themselves. They’re not so smart in hellcat everything they had with no fuel efficient offerings to offset their yeah hellcat hemi all yeah horsepower mindset lol. Look at them now.
@@voodoodiecast WRONG....The Hemi has a poor SMOG rating, and because of that and the Government regulations regarding the SMOG ratings, Stellantis was buying Millions of Dollars in Carbon credits from Tesla for the HEMI equipt products to be in compliance with the Governments SMOG rating regulations, that cost forced Stellantis do reitre the Hemi....Government mandates and regulations are the issue, now you know the FACTS!!
@@Deke1The government regulations are an excuse.
- Selling EV’s can be a compliance play for those who still want V8.
- Ford and GM have already figured this out. Also the Lightning and Ultium products have found enough buyers to keep them going. Also if Tesla keeps shooting themselves in the foot those buyers aren’t going back to ICE, they have to buy from somewhere.
- Non-CARB states can still get V8’s for the next two decades at least.
- I don’t support the mandates but they only exist for nine states. 41 states will get ICE/Hybrid for the foreseeable future. If anything CA and other CARB states may have to rollback their mandates.
- Finally CDJR quality was at or near the bottom of the industry for many years. The EV mandates are just more fuel on an already existing fire.
@@Deke1 I don’t know if you understand me. They hemi everything alright and the hemi being poor and dirty compared to others, what do you think would happen if they put their dirty hemi to all of their products? Come on Butter, You, Racer X and a few more Mopar Guru’s should partner up with Mr. Kuniskis and purchase Dodge and save it from being extinct, Also consider adding Chrysler, Jeep and Ram before they go by the way side, Wonder what the chances of getting the Plymouth name would be as well, You all could pull it off and bang out some banging muscle cars for us to enjoy years to come, Just saying you know! 👍🇺🇸👍❤
Dodge, Ram and Jeep are done with. I've owned Dodge, Plymouths and Jeep since I was 16. Now 75 and still own 2 Jeeps and only had a problem with one. A 2006 Jeep Liberty that after 4,500 miles and only 6 months old, the dealer bought it back and I was given a 2007 Jeep Wrangler as the Unibody welds broke!!! Our dealer decided to sell his business once Jeep began pushing EV's on the owner!! We were able to locate another dealer and now their lot is overloaded with EV's sent to them!
He should of kept the AMC brand out of his sell off to Stalantis and reestablish a real American car company, when he does this I'll buy one , all American made in the states.
Chrysler originally bought AMC for Jeep.
@@MaddNomad1015 correct, but now jeep is its own brand , Stalantis bought brands, if American division kept the AMC brand and didn't sell it off,AMC could once again be an American car manufacturer, its in the details, Stalantis didn't purchase the AMC brand , the loophole is in the writing of the contract.
My conspiracy is automakers are putting out poor quality gas vehicles ⛽ so the frustrated consumers will then pivot to an EV 🔋. The automakers are too big too fail so no matter how much money they lose on every EV sold they know the government will rescue them if the 💩 hits the fan.
If that’s stellantis’s strategy, then I think it will just force people to ford instead of to their EVs. Ford is still making a v8. Or maybe more people will start buying corvettes. Those also have v8s
Nah. I think these CEOs are just incompetent. If they wanted us to buy EVs, they would have introduced some sporty EV hatchbacks at a low price.
what breaks chinks in that armor of conspiracies is that a company like FORD isn’t stopping..it’s forcing Dodge to create a EV but for a V6 smh
@@nerychristian I wouldn’t necessarily complain about that. Make the EVs for basic commuter cars and low power/light sports cars like that, have hybrids for intermediate and somewhat high performance vehicles, have gas as the very high performance vehicles. They could also make high performance hybrids with big engines, electric turbos, an electric motor in the transmission, and a powerful electric motor in the rear. It would need a starter generator instead of an alternator though to support it

@miketwotwenty ok. Where they gonna sell it?
First we hear back from GM that we basically have a non-answer on the Pontiac revival (source: ruclips.net/video/Thx7HhZOKFo/видео.htmlsi=N3jF1IRYppe8TJls), and now this. Given how short the timeframe was between these events, I would not be surprised if Tim saw what was going on at GM, decided to give it a quick look, and basically decided to jump ship to GM to head a potential Pontiac revival project. If GM announces they’re hiring Tim Kuniskis, that should be a definite confirmation of a Pontiac revival in the pipeline, because who else would have that kind of reputation to rival modern Dodge but Pontiac? Financially I don’t think Stellantis can make it more than 2 years. Almost every car they sell has a year or more of current inventory. High interest rates, high MSRP and small rebates. No one is going to buy a new Wrangler for 45 - 75k they lost their minds!!!
If he is a real car guy, I can see why he would leave. Dodge no longer makes cars. But then IMO, they really haven't made cars since the '70s. I own a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 383/4 speed, and a 1976 Chrysler Cordoba, which has been my daily driver for nearly 30 years. I have also owned a couple of 1970s Dodge trucks. But I have no interest in the crap Dodge was selling in the '80s and after.
Long story short. Nothing can save them now. Thats why he left.
Yea long story is short. Nothing can save them now. That's why he left
Butta Butta
Tim saw the absolute sorry state Dodge is going to be in 10 years down the road and got out of there.
Tim's going over to GM to revive Pontiac.
There is no incentive for the new CEO to turn it around. I think CDJR will be eliminated, leaving a broke Ford & GM to the market. Honestly, I do not know why Stellantis bothered CDJR in the first place? I think you had better keep solid vehicles around and fix or repair as needed. Because you may not be able to afford a new one, with all its problems off the showroom floor.
Butter, wake up man. CDJR vehicles have had AWFUL quality for DECADES!!!! Yes, even the L-cars with the beloved HEMI’s have lagged the industry in quality by large margins! They’re not just suddenly poor quality; they’ve always been. The Hurricane engines are just continuing that legacy, it will be no different. This is nothing new to anybody who’s owned Chrysler products over the years. What’s changed is this: Chrysler products were relatively inexpensive compared to their peers, which is why their customers put up with lower levels of quality, and reliability. Americans love a deal, and will buy cheap shit if they perceive it to be of a good value. THAT was what always sold Chrysler products. Now that Stellantis is charging premium vehicle prices for non-premium vehicles of substandard quality, the majority of consumers are saying NO to Chrysler products en masse.
There’s no value to be had anymore, just lower quality less reliable vehicles- with no upside whatsoever. That’s why these vehicles are rotting on dealer lots now. It has nothing to do with the V8’s going away, or the upcoming EV’s turning off customers… All the V8 models combined only accounted for around 40% of all the Chargers and Challengers production-the 5.7 being the majority of that 40%, and the V6 cars making up the largest chunk of sales (about 60% of total sales). The EV’s aren’t even on sale yet, and have NOTHING to do with all the 23’s (with V8’s even!) that can’t sell. Prices being too high play a large part in people not buying Mopars, but it’s more complicated than just that even.
Mopars are stolen at an alarmingly disproportionate rate compared to other vehicles. Also, an equally disturbing amount of criminals and thugs have made Mopars their “official car” when committing crimes, as well as using them as getaway cars to run from police. Then there’s the street takeovers, I don’t even need to get into how bad of a look that is for Mopar vehicles- we see all these people behaving like animals, and they’re all driving Dodge vehicles. So yeah- many potential customers see that, and don’t want to be associated with any of that behavior, or any of those people, and they most certainly don’t buy a CDJR product as a result.
I’ve bought and leased Chrysler products since the late 90’s when I bought my first new car right out of high school. I’ve had several L-cars since they came out in 05’, up through my last one in 21’. I won’t buy another Mopar simply because of the bad image that comes with owning them now, and the associated problems that can come to their owners. I didn’t appreciate the added attention from the law when I was just minding my own business, getting pulled over for bullshit just so they could try and search the car. You get sick of that real fast, especially if it happens more than once.
I’ve only ever been pulled over for speeding when I was in my teens and early 20s, then suddenly in 2022 , now in my 40’s, I kept getting pulled over in my Challenger for odd shit- never getting tickets, but they were always asking to search the vehicle. I let them the first time, but the next time it happened I said no. They brought a dog and searched it anyway after it “alerted” to narcotics. I don’t smoke or drink, never did drugs in my life, nor do I have a criminal record; I’ve never been arrested or anything. Anyway, there were no drugs to be found. That happened one more time while driving the Dodge (never in any of my other vehicles btw), and I sold it. I’m sure it’s also for reasons like these that other people are avoiding this brand, among the many other reasons. It’s sad, but shit like that will prevent people from even considering buying a Mopar.
I had a lady friend in Kansas City who had a Charger stolen from her. Just young punks wanting a joyride.
Facts! Too bad motards are still in love with the brand. 2023 models are a complete pos.
Stellantis is ruining CDJR
I don't feel like doing research but why don't Chrysler leave satlantis🤔
Give them time. Chrysler dumped the 300 series due to declining sales, and they now only have one vehicle, a soccer mom minivan, to fall back on. The eurotrash company stellantis wants to go all EV in line with the socialists in the EU across the pond.

What a shame. These Hemi cars have been out for so long they should have all the bugs worked out and that's not the case. Well for the 22 and 23's. My 18 Challenger Hellcat hss been flawless while my friends 23 Challenger Scat Pack has been nonstop problems. Stellantis really is that bad.
They’re dirty, not sustainable for their future.
ABANDON SHIP BEFORE IT SINKS! Is exactly what’s going on
“Dodge has no business evolving their company”
Charger Daytona SRT banshee
Should’ve just been “srt banshee” or just kept the v8s nobody looks at dodge and sees electric people buy dodge for their v8s.
yes the money waisted on th D170 engine and hellophnt engine ,that $ could of improved the 5.7 hemi or a new V8
No EV for me. I want the hemi no 4 cylinder. Turbocharges are supercharged nor 6 cylinder. Supercharges are terrible charged straight V8 hmm.
Its over
Lying Tim was Fired
Tim is retired from dodge
I'll just keep my Hemi they Could give me a Electric car and I can sell it to Pay off my House with it
