I want to see them bring back the last gen viper v10 with boost on it. Aftermarket people have been getting them over 2000 HP relatively easy. That engine had so much more potential they could have tapped into.
Why bother? The V10 sounds like crud and has zero advantage over the new Hemi or building an old B/RB 512-543ci stroker. All the V10 did was cost a lot of money, take up a lot of space and make a strange odd-fire blaring noise.
So what 1500 hp? Some are making 3300 hp with the twin turbo Vipers now. The V-10 is a much more reliable engine than those V-8 Hemis which blow up ALL the time - they are fragile. In the early 2000s Dodge (under the name Chrysler) won four FIA-GT championships against the best Europe had to offer and in all those hundred or so endurance races (including 24 hour races) I think you could count the number of V-10 engine failures on one hand.
