    Great video Butter. I used to be a dealer. I can remember going to Manheim auctions and a rep from Autocheck and Carfax being there. A car would come thru and the dealer who is "selling" the car, would tell the rep to remove certain info on the auto report in the middle of bidding. This is so the purchasing dealer can easily resell and guess what, it's legal. A lot of these practices need to be illegal.

    1971, when the last 426 HEMI was made I don’t think any of this kind of BS went on. I love and still would like a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, but looking at all this drama you see why they discontinued the cars….

    • @Dogboy1960
      @Dogboy1960 16 дней назад

      You'd be wrong in thinking things were a whole lot different back then. If you wanted to take your 426 Hemi straighht to the race track you had plenty of stuff to change and fix. The 426 had an oil pan and pick up designed with how it fits inside the production K member rather than what works well at a drag strip. Unlike, say a Big Block or Small Block Chevy with an oil pan and pickup mounted toward the back of the engine, the MOPAR pick up was mid mounted and with a pan that left you with potential oil starvation under hard acceleration with drag slicks. They were more honest back in the day though. 426 Hemi cars came with nothing even remotely close to a promise to cover racing. Even a street driven 426 Hemi saw a very short warranty period. The real problem with today's Demon 170 is it's super complex design and engineering that is light years ahead of most owner's ability to see a problem before it comes up. The older 426 Hemi was child's play" easy in comparison. The Demon 170 Challenger shares one thing in common with a '71 426 Hemi Challenger that someone might have taken straight to the strip, modified and attempted to turn 10 sec runs. The old car need work to get that time. This car doesn't . The old car could only do a 10 sec run only after an owner who knew what he was doing had made big changes. A guy this savvy and knowledgeable probably caught most of the problems related to turning a street car into a fast drag car with traction. This new car requires no such effort to do a 10 sec run. It's a point and shoot affair with nothing more than a break in required and as a result regular guys, rather than actual racers are catching the problems the hard way.....through break down of things that need to be addressed for reliability. On the bright side. An owner with car that hasn't had a problem yet will benefit from the solutions that are sure to become more commonly known over time.

    My 19' charger pursuit 5.7 awd with 60k miles and 1300 idle hours I bought for CHEAP keeps becoming a better purchase each day. Originally from the south and drove it one winter with salt already, up here in the north, washing it once a week minimum. Basically 0 rust still even compared to the pictures of the underbody when I originally bought it, besides the already slight surface rust in the control arms and other suspension components that appears to be there from the factory on all of the L cars these days. I used a product called fluid film to spray in the front fenders, rear quarter panel behind the wheel liners, and components that already had surface rust on them. Fluid film is "sticky" but it does creep down to "self heal", people use it on a bunch of cars up here in the rust belt and it basically stops corrosion on anything it is sprayed on.

    Personally, fluid film! never dries displaces water (spray on wet car if need be), actually penetrates the steal the longer it’s on there. During hot weather it’s creeps around and constantly spreading on the panels, but will wipe off with ease during car wash if it comes around to the shiny side of the panels (doesn’t hurt paint) I have a 2016 2500 180k I have been spraying since new. No surface rust on anything underneath! New England winter climates. Drilled holes in doors to get inside then plugged with body plugs. The bare metal from the drill holes is still shiny like I did it today. If you don’t want to do it yourself (kit for air compressor) some shops will do it for you $$$. To me, 💯 worth the investment

    It’s all about your engine’s capability to have time to adjust it’s harmonics internally.

Sounds like a ticking time bomb either way man, sell that shit get as much back as you can man fr especially if you really are a middle class guy.

    Do you even know what the harmonic balancer is on the front of the crank shaft is for an what it does . It balances the crank rods pistons from your car idling to high rpms . If this motor was built right an had a good harmonic balancer on it when the motor was built. That can cause a lot of trouble with the motor. So many people talk about changing the gap on the plug don't even know what it does. Changing to a hot plug an a colder plug. changing from a 220 thermostat to a 180 . You said on your video you didn't even know where it was. Like most people there only saying what they read on the internet are other RUclips channels. Mark my word Dodge is going to stop replacing these motors for the owners for free. There going to blame the owner for blown the motors up. There is a lot of up keep on a race motor an running methanol You can NOT go to the trade an make pass after pass go home an drive it for a month with out changing the oil after you make you passes. This oil mixed with methanol makes the oil milky eats the bearing up.

      Did you not hear Butter say that a Dodge service department discovered the faulty harmonic balancer and reported it to stellantis or are you here to change the subject. Majority of the people who bought a Demon 170 are motor heads and were advised to take the vehicles back for troubleshooting before touching them. More details on the suppliers I'm sure will be coming out.

    Most of the Demon 170 issues are from improper break-in. Stelantis is giving people the wrong break-in procedure. The oil should be changed at 60 miles of reserved driving, then changed again at 500 miles of normal driving, and changed again at 3,000 miles of more aggressive driving before any actual racing. After that, every 3,000 miles or after every night at the race track. Whichever happens first. Yes, change the oil after every race night. No exceptions.
    The people who buy these cars and do not follow those procedures will have engine failure much, much sooner than if they followed that procedure. This is common knowledge for people who actually build and run race engines. Yes, the Demon 170's engine is a production engine, but it is a production race engine. It should be treated as any other race engine despite what Stelantis recommends.

    It’s probably because of the worker layoffs and pissing off the people who made dodge good- srt. So yeah your not gonna get good last years or specialty cars when the people behind the reason the cars being fast are pissed off because they got wind of being fired btw after they build them all 🤣. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
