Called a dealer on one yesterday that has been sitting. They had BS discounts for $1500 trade bonus and $1000 finance bonus. I wanted to pay cash so they added $2500 back to the price. I told them they can keep it longer. Stupid on their part as I'm one and done. Next.
I can attest that dealerships really hate a cash buyer! Been through it myself and once I told them I was paying cash the whole mood changed, tried to get me to finance one year of it then the sales manager tried to steal 500 bucks right in front of my face as I was counting it out for them! Only good thing I can say is that the salesman I had was absolutely great! Still friends with him today, plus he left that dealership a few months later!
How wonderful that you spent a career saving lives, and helping people that is a huge reward in itself! The cards were actually a gift. My parents had some elderly friends, and they had no children. I took care of them for the last seven years of their lives. The cars were a gift from them! I was a social worker, my whole life for 40 years and I ran employment programs for people with disabilities. You keep up the good work, sir!
This really makes me happy. When FCA announced the end of production, last call, and very limited dealer allocations for Super Stocks, Redeyes, and Demons, I said at that time, I hope they all rust on the lots! Well here we are lol...
@jeffsavoy3633 I guess you could say I'm very bitter over the entire situation, and here's why. I purchased a new Mopar from the same dealer in 2018 Ram 3500 Diesel 4WD Crew cab dually max tow package, 2019 Ram 2500 4WD, 2021 Dodge Challenger 1320, 2021 Dodge Durango Tow-N-Go, and another Dodge Challenger 1320 in 2022. In 2022 I told my dealer I wanted to purchase a 2023 Dodge Challenger Super Stock and was at the very top of their list for the very first order as soon as the order window opened. THEN STELLANTIS announced the end of production, last call, and limited dealer allocations BS. My dream of owning a Redeye anything evaporated as the very few that made it to any dealers around me were priced at double MSRP. A lot of very stupid people paid those inflated prices too. Thus, my wish was I hope they all choke on the unsold rusting cars sitting on the lots for their extreme greed... Oh, and BTW, I ended up purchasing a new 2023 Jeep Rubicon last year instead and LOVE IT. I have been brand loyal to Mopar for decades and am still pissed at their bad woke decision to end V8 car production, but more so in how they did it!
@jeffsavoy3633 I posted a detailed response, and it posted then disappeared? So I'll try again but briefly summarize this time. The way they ended production with last call, limited dealer allocations for the upper end models, and extreme dealer greed with ridiculously inflated prices.
Thank you for this. Very informative. This just shows how stubborn these CDJR lots are. They would rather suffer and keep these cars on the lot than sell them at a reasonable price. Knowing they need to get ready for 25 inventory and still have 22s on the lot. SHAMEFUL!!!! Stellantis stillatthis 🤦🏾♂️

The Chevy Camaro is that from my understanding they have to do a bit more work on the dodge brand so between the 2 of the big 3… these two I listed are definitely easy for thief’s to get their hands on that’s why aftermarket protection is beyond necessary and well beyond just a neutral strap cover lol it is a good thing to have but shouldn’t be the only one cause you can bypass them with cloned keys like nobody’s business

I bought a 22 hellcat and a 22 scat pack that are both in my family and in the garage. Very low miles less than 2000 each. I paid full price plus a little bit. I don’t care at all! That’s what was going on at the time, and I love the cars. I have no plans on selling them, so I really don’t care what the values do right now. I truly believe these will be collectors items. Did they make a lot? Yes. How many are stolen and racked on a daily basis in this country! there will come a day where a jailbreak challenger like I bought will really have value.
If they're "highly desirable" then they would sell. C8 Vettes on average cost more than Hellcats and GM has no problem selling their vehicles. For what youre getting for the price there's simply much better options out there, and peoe are getting wind of that dynamic.
The Challenger is not a Corvette. It’s not supposed to be. A Corvette is more of a sports car/want to be super car. I mean it’s as good or better than a Mclaren in my opinion. I do think the Challenger is still relevant because the Camaro is so small inside. I can’t even drive it. I am 6 foot three. The mustang is also small inside. The Challenger is a big car with a lot of room inside and tons of power. That’s exactly what I wanted. Iit definitely has a place on the market but I completely agree that they are over priced. And the thought of buying one with two years of lot rot??Forget about it!

@@WIDEBODYNATION I special ordered this one and paid full msrp on the car and it was loaded with everything you could get on it with an out the door price of 104k. I paid 32k down to get the payment at 1k a month
I KBB this car and trade in price is 64k. What are these dealers thinking. 20k loss from the get go! The dealership would have to at least take 20 percent off to make it sell.
That hellcat didn’t sell because it should have been a wide body or a narrow body redeye for the 2022 model year, people would have just bought a 2015 and saved money assuming there was a huge markup at one point
My credit union finance cars at 4.75% regardless of credit score. I financed my 2008 corvette back in 2014 b/c my down payment was 2/3 the price so it was worth it for my bank.
Right I financed a 2020 Hellcat last year "used" but less than 10k miles for 5.74% from my credit union I don't think it's all bad.... plus I put just a little over half down on it and the average interest rate as of 2023 Q4 for new vehicles was 6.58% so not bad in my opinion.
Random, how long would you say is to long? I just start looking at a R/T Durango. I noticed on the price history that it’s been on the lot since November 23rd and I plan on getting it for a birthday gift in August. So that’s bout 9 months or so, would that be too long?
Just sold my 22 challenger to Carvana and they wont even try to sell it, going straight to wholesale auction with 9400 miles on it. I loved mine but the culture here with idiots and street takeovers and running from the law. I don't want lumped into that crowd, also with the amount of thefts of the challengers and chargers they are getting to stupid to insure even with a clean driving record! I believe there is more to this that just stubborn dealers, its a stigma to it as well..
@jimphillis5994 thats who stells target audience is ..those who want the bling and will pay to own at any means but at the same time get it repo'd in record time ..they care about the intial sale n that's its ...look at how many have a vast collection of Jordan's but live in housing authority complexes ..its undeniable..rather live beyond their means never grasping purchases like those mentioned above is what's trappin them in said housing complex
I thought the same until I test drove the 24 GT…it was a manual. It lacked low end torque like the scatpack challenger. I previously owned a 21 widebody scatpack shaker manual. I was looking to get another V8 manual car. So I tried the Mustang. I like the challenger better lol…guess I’ll be waiting for prices to drop so more on them to possibly snag another one
13,000 vehicles... over 3,000 dealers. That makes about four vehicles for the average dealer. Ours has only one. What is the problem with a model who's replacement is months away?
Stellantis really milked the Hemi angle but overshot the window. Now they have piles of these things rotting on dealer lots! It will be interesting to see how they get rid of these things.
We have a 23 scat pack TA with dynamics package, plus package, and other options that I have been looking at. Just dropped to $51,000. They are using a dealer drives it for 500 miles thing, so they can sell it as a courtesy vehicle to get it to that price. Not too happy about that. All the dealerships in my state are doing this 500 mile thing to sell them cheaper. Doesn't sit well with me.
@@WIDEBODYNATION it is some program where the dealership is able to sell the cars as new/loaner vehicles as long as they have 500 miles on the car. I guess they get a reimbursement from dodge for selling the car this way. All the dealers in my state are doing it now to try to move the challengers.
Good information!! Honestly, a Charger RT should not be over 35-36K. Especially a 2022. Like you said, the tires and fluids are all probably jacked up. So that’s additional cost already. Plus, you have to factor in the warranty issue. These cars generally have a 3 year warranty. So now you just bought a car and you have only 1 year of warranty. That’s crazy man!!! In addition to that, if you watch police pursuits across the nation, you’ll realize that majority of the vehicles involved in a pursuit are Dodges and Chryslers. Pretty much it’s Chargers, Challengers, and C300. So your insurance companies all know this. Guess what? They will jack up your rates real quick. Because it’s more prone to criminal activity. These vehicles are not worth it anymore.
@@WIDEBODYNATION I love the demon because I can see me,the devil,darth vader&ghost rider driving this car😁if I hit powerball I'm gone surely get 2demons......1red.....1black,it blows my mind that an American made car cost 250k..............in the 80's u could get a house for about $85,000.....now muscle car engines cost more than homes......but I love the outlaw design(I think dodge designed an engine for bank robbers).....so that's why Nascar kicked dodge out years ago;
The monthly payment on some of these cars is equal or greater than my fixed rate monthly mortgage on my 3 bd/2bath home. That is financially stupid, which is one reason they are not selling.
The dealers will let these cars lot rot before selling them. I tried to buy one a wide body charger that was on the dealer lot for over a year, they still Wanted over 69kfor the car! Keep it I can wait a lot longer than they can, New 2025 will be hitting dealer lots in the next few months.
@@WIDEBODYNATION Bruh. I live in Atlanta. It would get stolen. Not worth it for me. I may as well buy an M4 or M5. Actually, that's exactly what I'm about to buy. Bout to order one in August or Sept. I did want a cat, but Dodge tripping with the prices, and the thieves are doing waaaaay to much. It's literally safer to drive a Benz, Audi, or Beemer. 😂😂
There may be another reason for why these cars are gathering dust besides astronomical pricing, lack of interest by enthusiasts, high interest rates or lack of public interest. And that is an image problem. Countless times over the years these vehicles have been used in criminal activity, police chases and street takeovers. The higher-end trims like SRT's and Hellcats are notorious targets for thieves, as well. I've never owned one of these but have been a longtime MoPar fan and have considered maybe buying one of these. But living near Houston I'd hate to be mistakenly targeted on the freeway in my Challenger/Charger by some creep looking to settle a score.
Bro live Louisville, Kentucky these cars are still overpriced deal with one local dealer ship they tell me wait year from now hopefully price cars will come back down then theft rate people are being car jacked stolen out drive ways and garage across America 🇺🇸 this sad sir
We're all supposed to like and know how to deal with cars. We can't take a car that's been sitting on the pavement for two years? Yes they will have their problems, but they are still new cars essentially.
So the question is: how many of you want to be first in line to spend your hard earned money on these old, depreciated, cars that are going to have serious problems in the future, not only with financing, ensuring, but also with mechanical issues? These cars are played out.
To be fair no matter what car you buy it's going to become old, depreciated, and have mechanical issues in the future. So therefore your logic would mean all cars are played out.
Yeah banks won’t get close to 100% loan to value anymore. 75-85% seems to be the going amount recently, but that corresponds to the amount of a discount people should get AT VERY LEAST
Mopar was always muscle for less than every one else and no manufacturer could beat them without costing much more the second mopar started charging as much or more than the rest the buyers in mass gave them the middle finger.
Dodge Challengers and chargers are cool cars but they are still a Dodge, they are way over priced, they should be half what msrp is, a jailbreak wide body should be 40k tops.
I agree that car value site aren’t always the best for unique trims like the shaker, but Edmund’s is a good site for ballpark valuation, which is why I recommended and demonstrated it.
Was thinking a while back about getting a challenger/charger, but after trying to unsuccessfully not make a deal with these people, and thinking theyd surey give a good deal on one of the many cars available, seems they want to keep them on their lots and not sell. So went to the dependable/considerate chevy dealer i always hit up, ended up buying a new camaro convertible, with a 10k discount, superlow interest rate of less than 4% and a easy low payment. In and out of this dealer in just over 1 hour.
Honestly, I think part of the problem is that a certain two demographics in this country Have caused The over popularization of this car, given it a bad reputation…. leaving us normal people who would’ve otherwise loved to have owned his car, not wanting to get near it because we wouldn’t want to be associated with the thug culture.
Challengers are a shoebox on wheels 🤷♂️ sorry it makes sense they can’t get rid of them! For want your paying if rather spend my hard earned cash for a Charger body at the very least even if it’s an RT!

Who’s the credit union ?
@@toptier5346 North Carolina State Employee Credit Union.
Ya right 😂
Right I financed a 2020 Hellcat last year "used" but less than 10k miles for 5.74% from my credit union I don't think it's all bad.... plus I put just a little over half down on it and the average interest rate as of 2023 Q4 for new vehicles was 6.58% so not bad in my opinion.

That black charger will end up at auction if no sucker buys this. No one wants it that it sat on a lot for 2 years....
Random, how long would you say is to long? I just start looking at a R/T Durango. I noticed on the price history that it’s been on the lot since November 23rd and I plan on getting it for a birthday gift in August. So that’s bout 9 months or so, would that be too long?
If they discount that car enough, we should be looking to buy.
They ask over 100k for a "new" car which is made in 2021...
Yup the 13% is what brought about the price and insurance raises and thus the inevitable demise of the hemi ...

Not in Western Colorado and NOT for those prices. 😢
I love dodge but I might be switching to a mustang cuz the gt is almost the same hp as a scat pack but costs as much as a rt
FACTS
I thought the same until I test drove the 24 GT…it was a manual. It lacked low end torque like the scatpack challenger. I previously owned a 21 widebody scatpack shaker manual. I was looking to get another V8 manual car. So I tried the Mustang. I like the challenger better lol…guess I’ll be waiting for prices to drop so more on them to possibly snag another one

I'd bet many of those '22s still have markups
The most I'd be willing to pay for an 22' SRT Hellcat is 27K. I believe that's a fair price in 2024, let's get a race to the bottom going.
Dumb question? Can you order a car still? Costco?

I got a new 2023 Challenger HC JB for $68K last Saturday and as of today they came down to $62K is a freefall at this point.

Narrow

I only payed 30k for my 2021 challenger RT.
Not paying those prices.
13,000 vehicles... over 3,000 dealers. That makes about four vehicles for the average dealer. Ours has only one. What is the problem with a model who's replacement is months away?
The prices for those old new cars are still ridiculously high
Stellantis really milked the Hemi angle but overshot the window. Now they have piles of these things rotting on dealer lots! It will be interesting to see how they get rid of these things.
We have a 23 scat pack TA with dynamics package, plus package, and other options that I have been looking at. Just dropped to $51,000. They are using a dealer drives it for 500 miles thing, so they can sell it as a courtesy vehicle to get it to that price. Not too happy about that. All the dealerships in my state are doing this 500 mile thing to sell them cheaper. Doesn't sit well with me.
Is that the same thing as a “Demo” vehicle??
@@WIDEBODYNATION it is some program where the dealership is able to sell the cars as new/loaner vehicles as long as they have 500 miles on the car. I guess they get a reimbursement from dodge for selling the car this way. All the dealers in my state are doing it now to try to move the challengers.
You bought at a bad time. Values are plummeting
It would be crazy to buy right now.

I'll keep my 06 magnum r/t before I'd ever pay that for a leftover.

That 2022 Hellcat narrow body Challenger is sus.....I've seen from multiple sources that all 2020+ Hellcats are widebody, so I'm perplexed.

@@WIDEBODYNATION New Sub Bro 💯💪🏾🖤
@@jamariiion Facts Fam!!

Why are these cars selling so slow???
It’s crazy that Hellcats were going for 50k 😂
I have not seen a decent hell cat for 50K,, where are you seeing that. I have been looking.
I think that car no longer smells new
We're all supposed to like and know how to deal with cars. We can't take a car that's been sitting on the pavement for two years? Yes they will have their problems, but they are still new cars essentially.
😂 “new cars essentially” … ok so you mean lightly used like the banks consider most 2022s now that it’s mid 2024
So the question is: how many of you want to be first in line to spend your hard earned money on these old, depreciated, cars that are going to have serious problems in the future, not only with financing, ensuring, but also with mechanical issues?
These cars are played out.
You’re right on. My insurance has doubled in the past 2 years even with a clean driving record and all the discounts I can get
To be fair no matter what car you buy it's going to become old, depreciated, and have mechanical issues in the future. So therefore your logic would mean all cars are played out.
"Insuring".
23 RT's going for 29k
Id rather buy an older classic for 30 grand.....
The customer demographic for these cars can't afford them. The banks also won't finance them.
Yeah banks won’t get close to 100% loan to value anymore. 75-85% seems to be the going amount recently, but that corresponds to the amount of a discount people should get AT VERY LEAST
Factoring in gas and insurance that’s pretty much like 1500 monthly for a car 🗑
Yup
i wont buy any new anything....ever again. cost too damn much.
I do like new cars tho…. Haha
Imagine if they would have just sold these cars lower than MSRP all along. They would of sold every vehicle. Such a waste.

30-40% off is where it’s at
Mopar was always muscle for less than every one else and no manufacturer could beat them without costing much more the second mopar started charging as much or more than the rest the buyers in mass gave them the middle finger.

Challenger or 911 gt3...hmmmm lol
Dodge Challengers and chargers are cool cars but they are still a Dodge, they are way over priced, they should be half what msrp is, a jailbreak wide body should be 40k tops.
I don't think there's that many scat pack white bodies out there at least I don't see them at dealerships
Sad to say but many will be simply sent to the crusher. I know first hand that Mercedes does that.
Edmunds is trash. It doesn't even know my car is a Shaker and you can't add it.

All the chuck chucks and jiggy jiggys ruined dodge. Frickin hilarious.

The first car is STILL a plain Jane car for $42k…!! That’s STILL overpriced!
I wouldn't worry too much they will all eventually get stolen and destroyed.
There are better deals than that.
Everybody keeps showing v6’s, nobody’s buying those. People want hellcats/ Demons
