Dont usually comment on much but ive got to agree with a lot of people here This has to be one of the cars you restore, do the frame, do everything it needs, it deserves to exist another 50 years preserved mostly the way it is now
Derek, I'm an 81-year-old guy who has been inspired by your videos. So much so, that I am trying to restore my 2002 chevy tracker. It has been in my driveway for 11 years. The harmonic balancer needed balanced. Did that, and then I put new rear breaks and lines in. Now I am working on the fuel lines. I have been following you for about a year, and I am determined to get my 4-wheeler running this summer. Thank you, and stay safe.....
I really don't comment on many videos, but I currently live in Roscommon County Michigan just down the road from Roscommon Michigan. I worked at Lear Corporation in Fenton Michigan for 25 years. I built the seats in your Buick in 1987. I started there in 1985 when the plant first opened. After building the seats in Fenton, they were loaded onto yellow steel pallets, specifically designed to keep the seats in place, having groved tube steel that the seat tracks slid into, then shipped to Flint Michigan, GM Buick City where they would be unloaded from what were called "soft side trailers". Essentially huge tarps that covered both sides of the 53ft long trailers filled with both front and rear seats. The seats would then be loaded onto the assembly line once unloaded from the trucks, and would be put in the cars as they passed by the seats waiting to be installed in what GM called a " just in time" system. The car and seats were assigned matching numbers specifically scanned with a bar code for one another. Sadly, Buick City was completely demolished and became one huge concrete slab thanks to GM moving plants to places like Mexico many moons ago. I miss working there at Lear. I worked with school friends there since I had graduated from Fenton in 1983. Hired into Lear in 1985 when they opened their doors. Good times.......😊😊 Great find in the Buick. Sadly I heard about your find after you had left town. A few of my friends along with myself would have been proud to meet up with you, even if just for a couple minutes. Love your show. Rarely miss an episode.😊😊😊😊😊 Blessings to you and your family....
I heard northern Michigan and it piqued my interest too. I started recognizing landmarks and heard him say Roscommon..... I could have been up there at my parents on the Au Sable.
I'm actually from Holly, graduated in 82, currently living 1/4 miles from Buick slab city. What a shame it happened. Just wanted to say good to hear from someone who can appreciate what happened and to find out we lived in neighboring towns. Holly and Fenton. Great times back in the days.
@@ronnybutler2908 The exhaust "route" ? Oh hell yeah! I actually had a Torque Technologies (back when they still existed) 3" system for GN on my 86' Grand Prix.
I don’t know why but it brought tears to my eyes when you raised the door to that storage building! That is a beautiful automobile! Love the channel! I learn something every time I watch!
I’ve been watching this channel since almost the beginning and I’ve never seen u bring home a unit of this caliber! Many including myself, would love to see this car restored to factory condition!!
Brother, I have been here since the beginning and have rewatched all the way through a few times. You deserve an award for being able to remain the same person through all the growing and opportunities that you have earned these last few years. That being said, I am a fan and will watch as long as you are making content. God bless you and your family!
Eddie, like you I've been here since about the 4000 sub mark, right after his first video he made with just his phone taped to the garage door. I agree with you, he's still the same guy working on cars as he was in the beginning. Most would have let the fame go to their heads but he hasn't changed his ways or mannerisms. He still the same guy that he was when he made the first video. Love his commitment to his family, country and of course the channel. Granted some stuff now isn't for the average blue collar worker with being able to afford new engines and whatnot, but still using hobo freight tools and donating to so many kids in shop classes is what makes him as genuine as they come. Only thing I wish he would have stuck with is the cars for vets he done a couple of times.
Shoot I remember watching the ford Model A revival and that put me on for life I watched all his previous specials and episodes to the point we are at today. Derek is awesome like a true icon and his personality really shines. Who doesn't love this guy and his family!!
I know VGG does a lot of giveaways and always tries to do everything on a budget, but I'm really rooting for this one. I've barely started the video but I think this car deserves a proper restoration for VGG to do and keep for himself. Just my two cents but I'll still enjoy every bit of content we get out of this one.
This car is not a t-type . It is much more rare. It is a T otherwise known as a turbo -T . There were only 1,534 of these cars made in 1987. The Turbo T's were the last off the assembly line for the buick turbos. They were lighter and faster then the grand national. They had aluminum wheels and aluminum bumpers. The grand national had steel bumpers and steel wheels. Nice find and please keep it .
@@ServiceDepartment-zu5hmNever know who's readin' these comments... This car is late-auto history!!! I'd keep it for a show car... will turn heads I'm sure!
Since I have nothing better to do on my laptop while watching the episode on the TV. Pausing at 10:00 and zooming in, it's a Y56 (T Package) code car and W02 (Exterior sport package). Not a WE4 Turbo-T car.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for recognizing your crew. As an A&P technician and former Director of Maintenance of a corporate flight department I always made it a priority to recognize my team for going above and beyond expectations. Heavy you have set the bar high for recognizing your guys on this platform, I ask you to ask the fellow RUclipsers to recognize the people behind the scenes that make everything happen just as you have done with the barge project. I know from experience when you take the time and effort to show your guys gratitude for great work those guys will give 110% all day every day. I'd work for you for free just to watch your guys bring visions to reality. Thanks for amazing content. Thanks again and thank your crew for me. God has his hand on your shoulder. Tim Bryant , Highlands,TX
I'm only 5 minutes into this and I'm getting emotional for Derrick. He is like a little kid at Christmas. Man I love VGG. Much love from the TX coast ❤❤
Derrick. You have one of the rarest turbo t’s. It was hard to tell with the interior if it had concert II sound or not but I would say this car is probably one of 700. And the reason it was breaking up on the top end was because I never saw you check the air filter and you have to test the throttle position sensor and the spark plugs are Tr44s from the factory you need to put Tr42’s in it an make sure they’re gapped between .35-.45. This car requires 93 octane only especially with the miles on it. General motors had a TSB bulletin in the 80s and also the inner cooler needs to be washed out. You can take a solvent and dump it in there swish it around, and dry it out real good and reinstall it with a new hose Upgraded hose couplers. Dennis Curbin would probably be the best person to reach out to in Pennsylvania if you’re looking for the best research and go fast parts. Enjoy that beautiful piece of history.
I thought the bland national was a great find but this is phenomenal and seeing your genuine love for this one is truly amazing. Hope to continue seeing this in the background of future episodes sitting on a lift in the shop. So pristine and definitely one of your best finds. No one deserves to have this one more than you. Maybe pass it down to the little guy. Thank you for all you do and keeping us entertained and motivated!
Would love to see this one restored back to it's Glory Days. It is so clean and low miles it really makes sense, and it's not too far along that it wouldn't take much. Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure
This one deserves a huge stock restoration! The frame is scaly, but we've all seen way worse! See what it's like after a thorough rust-removal. That body is way too nice, and that package is supremely rare. Fantastic workolatin', as always!
The shape of the car is very pretty but you can tell whoever the car designer was got over rided by some safety comittee that added a horrible rear end bumper and the front bumper, which hangs right in front of the lines the designer intended. Its a shame.
Derek, I’m a 70-year-old year widow. I love your videos and my family is amazed since I’ve never been a car person. However, I am a big fan of “before” and “after” videos. I love watching the process of getting from “here” to “there”. I find your videos to be very mesmerizing. I love the fact that you are so calm. I don’t recall that I’ve ever seen you lose your temper.
This was my husbands first car, bought brand new from the dealer ,down to the color and interior ! He had the absolute best time watching this!!! Thank you for giving him a great nostalgic flashback !!! He lived your channel and wants to know if you will share what the original investment was??
Clean up the rust, paint the bad spots but i would leave it stock if it was mine .your channel brings back so many memories me being 63 and seeing these beauties running they way you have them great channel to watch for sure.
You know and I know that that car is way too close to mint to not be fully restored. It'd be a crime to do anything to it that didn't bring it closer to factory.
With all due respect, the shiny paint doesn't make up for the mess that the underside of the car is. It's not bad but it's not close to what I'd call mint, because of that. It'd make a nice driver.
@@townhall05446 "shiny paint" he says. Tell you what. You find me a straight buik 3.8 turbo optioned, non GN with 100% functional original interior, T-Tops in the shape thats in (headliner glue not-withstanding). Protip: you won't.
This, IS the car of my 7 year old self was totally in love with when it came out. The GN's were unicorns never saw them really. But these I did see.. maybe not the turbo option, but these Regals, with this colour... MAN did this video trigger some childhood feels.... Please, PLEASE do this one with all the extras, spared no expense! Full frame off, swap, make this a staple car for the channel, Get Sam to do his magic on the paint. Do colabs with the community out there for these cars. It would be super cool to see this in a drag and drive event, not just a show car event. Don't need to swap out parts to make it faster.. just try to make it as it was when new, the condition of the interior would be a shame to swap out seats and put in a cage etc.... Just show us all that these were fast for the age... Thanks for this video. I love this car!
That's an exceptional find. I'd swap out the chassis and do as much rust repair as possible to the few bits of the body that have started to go. It's too nice a car to change, in my opinion - it's worthy of a ground up restoration. Cars like that don't come along very often - there are plenty of lesser examples that can be modified. This one is well worth the effort to completely restore and keep as a real "going to town rig".
I agree, keep this beauty unmolested. I bet there's a few sun bleached bondo queens in the sun belt with blown out interiors and crapped out mechanicals that could be had for cheap as a rust free frame donor. The rest of the car is amazing.
Regarding the rust and corruption on the underside of that car, I would be willing to bet that the storage facility was brand new when the Buick was put in place for storage. New concrete hold a lot of water and would have kept the sealed up storage unit nice and moist for quite a while.
Unfortunately, she has probably seen a winter or two. Maybe first owner. Storage rust is very superficial, but that is a bit more imbedded. She’s seen the salt.
Absolutely, do the full, complete restore! Factory new condition! Bumper-to-bumper, top, bottom, frame, everything! That beauty's worth the investment, both time and money!
I agree with a bunch of people, this should be the one you go all out on , this car is an amazing candidate for a full restoration. Awesome find buddy and thanks for sharing it with us……
Derek is unique with witty expressions. He is the man with a positive attitude and getter done spirit. Thanks for the adventure, story line and technical details. Keep em coming.
One of my favorite episodes to date!!!!!!! Absolute gem of a car. She is beautiful. Please fix her up nice, she deserves it. Nice first car for one of the boys!!!!
This was a very enjoyable video. It was a surprise the GS Regal stated so quickly after you put in the new tank. For a car to sit for over 20+ years, it was amazing to see it brought back to life. I have watched your channel for well over 8+ years. Keep up the good work.👍
I Drag Tested that exact car for Cars Illustrated magazine back in 1986. (From Buick With Balls) We nailed the first Buick Turbo car 13 second pass with it, and I had a blast street racing it all over NY, NJ and PA during the week we had it. One of my all time favorites. Good luck with it.
I had a friend who was a huge GN/T-type guy. Unfortunately he was killed when a tire blew out at a high rate of speed. He was driving a T-type at the time. He had an 1987 GN that was on its way to being a monster. I'm looking forward to seeing this one come back to life.
This will be the second time I watched you work on this classic Buick. I really appreciate watching you work on this old iron Derek. I regret to say that I wouldn't have your patience. Kudos to you.
no idea if you will ever read this but i love this channel. not from the States but across the pond from good old Blighty. i think this is possibly the best car you have saved and really you need to keep it and get it back to tip-top health so it can be used daily. such an awesome 80s machine. keep up the good work and look after yourself.
Thats a perfect car for the wife to drive while you drive the other turbo g-body to car shows. Frame off restrictions on both would be great content since thats not your normal thing. There both rare enough to keep for your personal collection since there both only gonna go up in value. I absolutely love them. Hope to see this happen❤❤❤
I'd say find a good rolling chassis from out west and install polyurethane bushings and mounts. Also a great time for a hydroboost conversion and any other upgrades for reliability and longevity. You'd have a beautiful survivor that would be safe and reliable.
The first ten years of my life I rode in the back seat of those late 70s to 80s Buick Regals... They were never turbo Regals, but I remember many miles around town and all the road trips in those Regals...! Thanks for sharing and the memories...!! Keep up your awesomeness...
Dude, you have to keep this little gem. It made me excited for you. Maybe get the frame dipped and (really) powder coated and detail the rest but you really have something special there. Congrats and as always thank you for the good clean family friendly content. You really knocked this one out of the park. Regards, Your most loyal Canadian fan. Tim
That needs to be Jessica's car. It will be a perfect replacement and future power tour car for the one you gave away! Those G body frames are plentiful if you want to swap it, but I'd consider trying dry ice blasting first, it may not be as bad as you think. Great video, I appreciate your hard work!
Frame swap for sure, you're never going to get to all the inside of that frame to stop corrosion unless you spend big $ having it chemical treated, even then your end result could be structurally compromised because of the rust.
Frame swap fur shur. Powdercoat the rear end. Change out the upper and lower a arms and rear bars. Change the right and left rockers . A chrome kit under the hood. Treat the floors while it's off the frame. I just subscribed so I'm all for a whole series on this one....lol...I love the turbo t's and maroon (rosewood) ain't a bad color to have.
Another great video! Unfortunately this isn’t a vehicle that my dad would drive home from work while I was growing up but he would bring home a 1970 Buick Century 350 2 barrel that would instantly light the tires up when fully depressed and leave as much tire smoke as you would care to leave when doing a burnout. Fun!
Derek, I have officially watched every single one of your videos now. And some of them several times. When a guy needs a little inspiration to go outside and work on my junk I just put on VGG and it gets me going. Thank you for what you do, from rescuing cars to giving back to the community. Hope to meet you in person one day
Best motivation for our inner tinkerer haha. I love the "what would Derek do/say" moments I have in my head when I'm wrenching, makes it seem a bit more manageable 😂

Just a heads up for any would-be revival mechanics out there learning the ropes, a lot of times the reason a pinion or an axle seal will start blowing out hot gear lube after driving it long distances is because the vent on the axle tube is clogged...so as you drive it and the axle internals heat up from friction, the hot air expands and has nowhere to vent, so it pressurizes the axle housing and pushes gear lube out past the seals...so, before you go wrestling around with new seals, go ahead and remove the threaded vent from the axle tube and make sure that's clean first...they have a tendency to get caked with dust, rust, and old gear lube, so they're very easy to plug up and stay plugged...
Back when I was a service manager at a bike shop I used to make a FORTUNE the day before hunting season. Dirt daubers would build nests in carb vent tubes. The airbox would fill up with fuel then dilute the oil. Bop the vent, start it, then flush the crankcase. Easy money on an easy carb clean.
Derek dropped the "ol' fella" persona because he knew this was different from a standard revival. Holy crap what an absolute gem of a car. Unbelievable. What a find. Congratulations Derek!
Im not here for algorithm. I want to make the content I want to make and enjoy doing it 👍. I was the very first auto channel to do long format, and now it's becoming the standard.
@@ViceGripGarage I understand what he’s saying but have come to love your long format videos! I rarely get to watch the whole video but always look foreword to coming back to it and starting where I left off. No problem here and judging by the number of views you get after a couple of weeks I think there are many more people doing the same thing! Keep it up and God Bless Derrick!
Personally, I prefer the long videos, the guys that do the same thing and have it running and driving in a 20 minute video cut so much of the work out that it makes it feel staged and pointless
The bob ross of car channels. Derek please don’t stop doing these salvation road trips, in this day and age we need you now more than ever. We love you brother.
Crazy, my wife was from Houghton lake, we would drive up to Higgins lake to go boating and Recreational areas, I’ve been by that storage unit dozens of times and that car was just sitting there. Hell i probably been by there first few years it was out there. That rust is nuts, Michigan kills cars, I bought brand new Ford truck, 12 miles within 5 years not even paid for I had rust under the paint around the door lock, that’s was a late 90s model
The ECM or ECU is located under the glove box and dash forward of the front passenger door. You will have to carefully remove cover and inside you will see metalbox that is where the chip is. That coupler that you mentioned at begining are notorious for coming off. Keep spares in the car at all times. Those cars need an oil pressure guage, because known for low oil pressure at times. Also check the entire front end suspension often. I needed to replace the entire front suspension on mine. Great performing highway Cars in its day.
@@wecoyote2016 Turbos tend to die early because of low oil pressure due to a poor quality oil pump. 1st mod should be to correct the problem . pressure problem.
Derek I discovered you a couple months ago ( I’m usually the last to know) and watching you relate to your son and your sense of humor and refusal to fail is inspiring to us all. Anyway a young lady I work with had a Cletus McFarland T shirt on and I said he’s okay but you need to catch VGG she laughs and says I love Derek he is the best. It was surprisingly to me how well known you are. We all love ya man, you’re one of a kind!
Man you hit the Lottery finding this one. Beautiful car & runs like a mashed cat. What I'm impressed with is you changing the pinion seal in a parking lot with minimal tools. That tail pipe seal installer is thinking outside the box. Awesome car.
I replaced an entire rear-end in a video store parking lot once after I coasted in there when I blew the rear up from doing rolling burnouts. It happens.... 🤷 It was only a leaf spring car though. Pretty easy rear axle change scenario
@@davelowets i drove a 78 camaro right into a video store once after i pulled into the parking lot a bit hot off the highway and realized i lost my breaks a lil too late...., just had enough time to throw it into park but all it did was click a few times before i smashed right into the front of the building which was all glass. i was parked right in the new release section..... luckily no one was hurt except my air brushed spider web paint job.
Heck yeah Derek you found ya not 1, but 2 dream car barn finds, and this T Type is a true gem! So heck yeah this one definitely deserves a full resto and I’d hold onto both Buicks! And please for the love of god store both these vehicles in the shop not outside in the field!
I noticed in your last program working on the ford truck, we were looking down the full length of your shop building. My gosh. That is a huge building. What are you going to be doing with the rest of the building. It’s huge huge hug ….the Buick. What to do with it. it’s a goin to town car for sure . Hell it’s the nicest car you’ve ever had. Keep it.

Yeah, agree with investing in the Regal to keep it stock/restoration, super cool looking car. It's beautiful as is. Seems like it will have enough power with tune up, no need to go overboard. Too bad about the wheels, they look good on the car. Great show. Keep up the fun.
Now that I found this channel, I burn a couple hours a week more on RUclips! Derrick’s can do calm attitude is awesome, although he acts like he cuts corners, his ability to make these cars reliable is amazing to watch. I watch to make sure I check these issues on my vehicles. One of my favorite channels of good old American ingenuity & Classic Cars. He reminds me of an old friend now gone that loved helping others by working on anything with an engine, cars, dune buggy’s, etc.
I worked at a tire shop in high school. I patched a spare drag radial for a guy that had a Buick T type. He took me for a ride in it. I don’t know what he had done to it, but it was one of the fastest cars I’ve ever ridden in!
That is an absolute beautiful Regal. You just have to slide a clean southern frame under it to match the topside and repair the little bit of crusties on the lower edge of the doors and rockers, a couple oil leaks and she should be good to go. Some of those shined up chrome GN wheels will add to it too. Jess might claim this one now for herself and I ain't kiddin ya.
Get the wiper going before you leave for home. Get a dashboard 12v Fan for a backup Defroster. Replace the upper control arms and any Rusty Suspension!! Get the Rotors turned for spare replacement rotors. And Harbor freight cotter keys kit package. 1:00:01
As a mechanic's daughter, I enjoy watching your videos. Such fun! Love seeing the vehicles go from dust and rust to moving on it's own. Thank you for motoring me down memory lane! I've find mechanic lingo varies from place to place. 😊
Thanks for another great video and road trip, glad you found that would love to know what you paid for😢it I've never asked but I've always wondered what you pay for things that you find, I bet you it's not much. Also, I never did tell you that your new shop was so well deserved and I'm glad you got that😊 you must be a billionaire by now!! LOL I'll be waiting to hear back from you soon
You have got to keep this jewel! Derek, if there ever was a vehicle you have had, worth dumping some green into, this is it. Fix the body, fix the suspension soda blast the frame or whatever and paint and rust proof. These cars in that shape are getting very rare and you would kick yourself if you EVER got rid of this. This is one you park on the others side of the shop and put a car cover on it. Only drive it for special occasions. I used to work on these when they were new at a GM dealership. I just loved "test driving" them after a repair!
I vote for a frame off restoration…. was amazed and a little sad to see all the rust after you moved it outside. Wouldn’t have expected such moisture related issues in a storage unit like that. And, obviously a master brake booster conversion. Thanks for a GREAT video, as always!!
Well now, I'm wondering if Jessica might be getting a new grocery getter? I'm thinking she just might like this one, with all its bells and whistles! Some new hood shocks, headliner repaired, power steering pump and some wire wheeling done by Derek on the frame, and it's nearly ready for longterm driving, especially with its low miles! Loved the video Derek, I think this should be a keeper!! Wouldn't take much, and this car could be one adding to your local car show, she's a beauty!
Vice Grip Garage didn't disappoint with this episode. The Regal was in nicer condition than I expected after he cleaned it up, and it ran better than I expected it to. That was an impressive launch for a stocker. I'd say leave it original for as long as it survives, maybe put a NASCAR wrap on it.
These were the cars of every high school teenagers dreams back in the 80s!! I personally had a 1983 Monte Carlo in high school in the 80s. Absolutely loved those years! Thanks for the trip down memory lane Derek!

I appreciate keeping the history and patina in most of your finds Derek. But, if I ever see you do a frame off restoration with a large budget and work really hard to get it new, shiny, and scary to even look at in fear of scratching it with your peepers. I feel like this is the best candidate I have seen for a build like that on your channel. Keep up the amazing work and bringin the thunder!❤
Looks like you’re hooked! I’ve seen that glaze many times!! Those Turbo Buicks have a way about them. Makes it all the more special! These cars are so underrated. Thank you for your time making this vid!!

Good times.......😊😊
Great find in the Buick. Sadly I heard about your find after you had left town. A few of my friends along with myself would have been proud to meet up with you, even if just for a couple minutes. Love your show. Rarely miss an episode.😊😊😊😊😊

I'm for keeping it original and working on the rust issues. Love it that way. VGG restoration magic is all it needs.
that's a restoration candidate for sure . besides once Jessica drives it she's gonna want it for her own
That’s Jessica’s to replace the Mountain Dew car, she really liked it

Brother, I have been here since the beginning and have rewatched all the way through a few times. You deserve an award for being able to remain the same person through all the growing and opportunities that you have earned these last few years. That being said, I am a fan and will watch as long as you are making content. God bless you and your family!
Absolutely agree with that comment.

Amen. Pull the body off and rebuild everything under it.
my thoughts exactly, this is worthy enough car to keep
This car is not a t-type . It is much more rare. It is a T otherwise known as a turbo -T . There were only 1,534 of these cars made in 1987. The Turbo T's were the last off the assembly line for the buick turbos. They were lighter and faster then the grand national. They had aluminum wheels and aluminum bumpers. The grand national had steel bumpers and steel wheels. Nice find and please keep it .
Aluminum wheels & aluminum bumper brackets... Not aluminum bumpers.
How many had T tops?

As other have said.... You need to restore that as much as possible. Probably my most favorite vehicle to date on your channel! Simply awesome.
I agree. change the frame and keep it all stock . I love those regals

You know Jessica is gonna want to keep it. Restore the frame and keep it as is, it is a one of a kind factory ordered beast.
Would love to see this one restored back to it's Glory Days. It is so clean and low miles it really makes sense, and it's not too far along that it wouldn't take much. Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure
doesnt really need anything. its pretty much there already
I can't believe the paint is in such fantastic shape. What a nice car. Thanks for the video.
This one deserves a huge stock restoration! The frame is scaly, but we've all seen way worse! See what it's like after a thorough rust-removal. That body is way too nice, and that package is supremely rare.
Fantastic workolatin', as always!
Wouldn’t be worth a full restoration without acid dipping the frame
Yes it does!
It would be worth it to swap the frame and suspension, and keep the drive train and interior mostly stock.
The shape of the car is very pretty but you can tell whoever the car designer was got over rided by some safety comittee that added a horrible rear end bumper and the front bumper, which hangs right in front of the lines the designer intended.
Its a shame.
Just fuckin spray the shit out of the frame

You know and I know that that car is way too close to mint to not be fully restored. It'd be a crime to do anything to it that didn't bring it closer to factory.
With all due respect, the shiny paint doesn't make up for the mess that the underside of the car is. It's not bad but it's not close to what I'd call mint, because of that. It'd make a nice driver.

This has always been my dream car
That's an exceptional find. I'd swap out the chassis and do as much rust repair as possible to the few bits of the body that have started to go. It's too nice a car to change, in my opinion - it's worthy of a ground up restoration. Cars like that don't come along very often - there are plenty of lesser examples that can be modified. This one is well worth the effort to completely restore and keep as a real "going to town rig".

That rust is serious. It’s like the guy put it away with a full on salt bath.
Regarding the rust and corruption on the underside of that car, I would be willing to bet that the storage facility was brand new when the Buick was put in place for storage. New concrete hold a lot of water and would have kept the sealed up storage unit nice and moist for quite a while.
Michigan also has snow, and road salt as well
Put away in December I believe he said… salt a big component
Unfortunately, she has probably seen a winter or two. Maybe first owner. Storage rust is very superficial, but that is a bit more imbedded. She’s seen the salt.

the one you gave away!

That's a good point .
Love that car and color. Had a white 82 and a 82 olds as well

Crazy, my wife was from Houghton lake, we would drive up to Higgins lake to go boating and Recreational areas, I’ve been by that storage unit dozens of times and that car was just sitting there. Hell i probably been by there first few years it was out there. Favourite car you’ve saved so far. What an absolute gem.

You might want to do your research It's a unibody It's not frame and body So that's impossible

Regal is a g-body there's a full frame under that car just like a montecarlo or a Cutlass.

First time to this channel I'm so hooked on watching you get cars n trucks back on the road.i learn so much Derek keep up the great work
Well now, I'm wondering if Jessica might be getting a new grocery getter?
I have so many projects that I'm working on. I get most of them to 92% completion. I love thos channel I build everything from the junkyard. Derek you are awesome. keep doing the lords work, and inspiring others to love abandoned autos

Another one! Saddle up! This is going to be good!
Alex, you all need to get together and do an episode together get a bunch of RUclipsrs that have them cars
hey my other favorite channel, just watched the grand nat build
Looks like you’re hooked! I’ve seen that glaze many times!! Those Turbo Buicks have a way about them. Makes it all the more special! These cars are so underrated. Thank you for your time making this vid!!
T tops are the absolute best! I can't wait to get my 86' Iroc-Z with T tops back on the road again. It's gonna be the best feeling ever driving with them tops off.
