It’s great seeing you involving your kids in your videos, this will be something he’s going to look back on later in life and appreciate so much. So many kids don’t get that kind of support and love from their parents. I wish more parents would follow in your footsteps, the world would become a much better place.
Yes I would definitely like to see a tear down of the 350 engine. Oh by the way I was just thinking about your son … I just hopes he appreciates having a dad that can teach him all about engines and mechanical skills , something I wasn’t fortunate to have growing up. I throughly enjoyed watching both of you working together Father and Son, looking forward to seeing many more videos!
I love that you let your kids follow their passions and don't force them to do anything. Bradley is obviously less interested in mechanical stuff and Bentley is going to become your biggest fan and follower. I have no doubt that each one of your sons are going to make you extremely proud. You're an awesome role model.
This video warmed my heart Derek. Thank you for putting out all of these awesome videos. I hope to do something like this with my boys some day. Hey Derek I want to say thank you for teaching your boys the way you do. I lost my Dad a year and a half ago due to a stroke. Great to see a father pass the torch to his sons! I have 2, 33 yr old "twin" grown sons that I did the same! and are still building together to this day! and even though I have busted knuckle's, and some say a mean look. it always surprises people that I still hug and tell my boys I love them! cause that's what a good- "great" father does! My sons are passing the torch to my grandsons! and are the same with them! Keep GOD and family close and never stop telling thoughts you love, You LOVE THEM! GREAT video keep them coming!
Yes, Bentley has a big smile on his face. Dad's smile is bigger than Bentley's. This was a special build and Derek truly showed his love for his son. We are all proud of Derek's getting this truck ready for Bentley.
Great Build. It reminded me of the good old days. I have a 78 stepside I bought in Dec. 1979. Drove it for years. Put a short block in it in the late 80s and drove it till around 97 and slug a rod just driveing down the hiway. By then I had wife and kids. Every time I get the money to rebuild something takes it. Thanks for the memories!
my oldest daughter used to tell on me to mom for saying "big swears" while she was in the garage with me. Now, at 28, that same daughter throws a wrench and says them big swears herself, lol.
Absolutely envy these kids! Never had even half the dad they did growing up. Derek continues to impress and inspire, inspiring me to be a better mechanic and better father myself.
Great father son bonding time!! I lost my father April 2021. We used to work on cars together all the time...he wasn't as nice or patient as Derek is, but him teaching me auto repair has made me a lot of money so far in my lifetime and I've been able to help a lot of people in the meantime. Last year I acquired my father's big block 1967 Cougar, the car he started teaching me auto repair on. I've been tinkering on it since trying to get it back on the road after 10 years of sitting idle. I found out in March of this year that I have a 25 year old son I didn't know I had, he's putting himself through school to becoming an ASE certified mechanic....he even named his son, my grandson, Axel! Can't wait to teach him what I know about cars. Thanks for reminding me of what it was like with dad!
@@buckjank that’s a trash comment. He spends time with all his kids, this is a project for him and bentley. Completely unnecessary for you to comment something like that.

Seeing the next generation getting into cars is so cool.this little feller knows his way around a rig! Just imagine the knowledge he will have when he is 20. Has a very keen eye for little details. Very cool episode. So enjoyable to watch.
I would recommend to rebuild every time. 1) I'm the one rebuilding. I have confidence in my own work. 2) Commonly its cheaper to rebuild it yourself instead of buying a crate. 3) The boys would never forget. I am 48 years old and to this day I remember rebuilding a Ford 390 V8 with my Dad when I was 13.
Man, this episode got me all teared up, remembering the times i had with my pa. Good times. These young fellers truly are blessed having a dad raising them proper . Keep at it guys. You truly give a man hope for the future .

Best episode of Vice Grip Garage I've seen in a while. Little dude was excited working on this one. Running every which way to get tools and parts. He deserves the truck!
I was wondering if he was paying attention at all in school the last few days.
It’s great seeing you involving your kids in your videos, this will be something he’s going to look back on later in life and appreciate so much. So many kids don’t get that kind of support and love from their parents. I wish more parents would follow in your footsteps, the world would become a much better place.
So true wertysam,, so true.
Seeing the smile on his face when it fired up and when he got to drive it was priceless. Amazing family sir! Keep up the great work, peace and happiness to you and your family 😎
dang son got $50 extra buckerbeenoez
This is awesome!!
Bentleys gas money for burnouts in the hayfield 😂
U give 50 bucks to a bunch of rich youtuber
@rich2220 maybe he's a rich commenter...
@@musicdawgI can automatically tell who you vote for with a comment like that. Envy is a disgusting personality trait.
This is probably my favorite video you’ve done this far. I’ve watched them all and really enjoyed them. But this one was amazing. From one dad to another, you’re an amazing father and husband. You’re a great role model for your boys and I appreciate you showing your viewers not only an entertaining, sometimes comical way of working and saving vehicles but also that family and sharing knowledge to our younger generations are important. Again thank you.
lost my dad in 2019, he was coming up on 89. my brother and I worked with him on many projects. in his later years he would ask me how i got so smart, and could do all the things i do. i told him it was from him. he let us build projects. helped us and taught us to think outside the box,
the greatest dad ever. i got tears watching this as it makes me remember all the shop time with him.
The smile on Bentley's face when it fired up has gotta make all of the long hours worth it. Just let's a guy know he's doing the whole parenting thing just right!
I love these Father/Son builds. The sad truth is, there are people out there that can't even change a tire or battery on their own because they were never taught. But seeing how excited Bentley is about fixing up this old truck is just such a joy.
From one proud dad to another, every time Bentley is the main focus, he steals the show. Keep it up my friend!
I had 3 boys and all worked with me at some time, best training they will ever get, they are great workers,am 73 and they all love to work, great job with your boys!
Best part of the whole video, Bentley taking it for a rip and Dad chuckling when he gives it a little tire spin, days you both never forget
And when Derek gets back home, and finds the field all torn up with donut patterns, he'll definitely be proud!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. You're a great Dad. Nice work, both of you, to save that old pickup. Love seeing the boy smile from ear to ear. Enjoy! Be safe!
A teardown of the old 350 sounds like a great idea. Would be nice to see if it could be rebuilt.
Vote yes on a 350 rebuild video
I would like to watch a tear down too. It doesn't cost anything to to open it up, but you may learn things when you do.
I love that you include your sons, father of the year material right there.
Its awesome to see the little dude out working with his pops. This is what the best memories always come from. You seem like and awesome dad Derek, it makes this channel that much more enjoyable!!
I was smiling along with you, Derek.... watching him cruise the old Chevy in the field. A proud Dad moment! He will remember this moment for life. (And the day you present him the keys!) Good stuff.
It's amazing how wonderful things can be, and how children can be this self-sufficient at 11 years old when they aren't given a screen and ignored. Thank you for these videos :)
I remember those father and son projects...miss them every day😢
You're a good dad...the smile on Bentley's face is...PRICELESS! ❤
when i asked my dad if i could help he told me "yes, go in the house and leave me alone"
Hey Derek I want to say thank you for teaching your boys the way you do. I lost my Dad a year and a half ago due to a stroke. This video brought back so many great memories for me seeing Bentley in the engine bay. You are doing them a great thing by teaching them how to wrench on things. They will never forget the time they spent doing it. You are a great person and father and I absolutely love all your content. Don't change a thing.
Lately Friday night is VGG night. New episode every week. And I bet the ratings are tops. It's how I kick off my weekend.
Perfect Friday night entertainment. Great job being a good dad! That’s what this country needs brother. 🇺🇸💪🏻
Bentley looks so excited for this project, I can’t wait to see him tooling around rusty acres when she’s dialed in! Please stay safe Bentley and always be your awesome self!!!
I enjoy watching your kids help out on all these projects brings a smile to my face. My son was getting into working with me on projects right before he passed away at 11 so watching Bentley get into these projects let's me imagine what it would have been like. So thank you both for the experience!!!
Good souls are taken to heaven before they experience the corrupt world, make ur son proud and kick ass
I think it is so cool that Bentley just jumps right in and helps you with so many things. Fantastic father son bonding.
Absolutely love that you get to spend time with your son Working on cars!
Derrick is so humble. He knows a lot of us don’t have a car lift. Money has definitely not changed this guy.
@WilliamKiene-yg7rq mostly by simply taking them apart and working on them like anyone else could. Just takes the motivation and resources.
Hey bud... I've been watching your show for a while I got to admit I shared a tear watching you and your son ...just watching him drive the truck...there's nothing more beautiful than what you guys accomplish together as father and son
God bless
Ditto on the tear! Thanks for letting us share a few moments with the family.
I want to thank you Derek. I lost my father before we could start a restoration project together. You have that same “everything will work out just fine” attitude that my father had and I so appreciate that from you. You are a blessing and this generation will cherish that forever. I hope you are having a wonderful day and I thank you again
Love this, you can’t beat a father and son project, huge love and respect from the uk 🇬🇧
Sir, you are a credit to what a father is supposed to do. I love the times that the kids are involved, especially Bentley. I too a lot of years ago involved my son's in helping and teaching them the ins and outs of auto work. Your videos warm my heart, and I love your family involvement. God bless you all
Father of the century. My old man was good, but he was no vice grip. Bravo Derek and Jess.
Absolutely loving watching you two work.
A guy and a little guy working on an old square body is creating life long memories and teaching the little guy a lot!
Derek, you're a master mechanic and a fantastic Father & Husband. Teaching your boys these skills is priceless!!
Bentley's turning out to be quite the sidekick!! Great to see Father & Son working together!!
Man I love the fact that he was there when u got it, brought it home, gave it new life and now going to b his truck. That's awesome ! Nothing like a father/son build . Look forward to seeing more on it
These are some of my favorite episodes when you involve the little humans your responsible for!!! Keep it up!
Glad you like them!
@@ViceGripGarage AWESOME JOB my friend
They are so helpful when they can climb right into the engine bay! :)
Hits u right in the feels seeing him drive off in the field. Can't help but to smile ear to ear. Ur a amazing dad Derick. Ur truly a treasure to all of us
All your boys are so well behaved and polite but that little human is something else! Been watching you for a while now and out of all the builds on the channel, the best thing you have built and will ever build is, the bond you seem to have with the entire family! They all seem to just jump in to be a part of this ride that youtube is taking you on!
I think that truck with a high gloss black paint would be sharp as can be. Watching you work with your boys is just wonderful. Your a darn fine feller sir.
You can tell how eager Bentley is to get to work, and he's so comfortable in front of the camera. Super cool!
Bentley and boys rock! Great job, fellers.
Is it really a father/son project if the dad doesn’t yell at the son for holding the flashlight wrong? Great job to both of you!
Pffff spit my Coke out when I read this 😂😂😂 flashback to my childhood right there 😂
my oldest daughter used to tell on me to mom for saying "big swears" while she was in the garage with me. Now, at 28, that same daughter throws a wrench and says them big swears herself, lol.
Absolutely envy these kids! Never had even half the dad they did growing up. Derek continues to impress and inspire, inspiring me to be a better mechanic and better father myself.
I vote yes for the tear down, so fun to see you working with the boys
As a Dad, I absolutely love watching you and your boys wrench together. Extremely heart warming.
Really heart warming except he didn't bother with his other 2 sons
@@buckjank that’s a trash comment. He spends time with all his kids, this is a project for him and bentley. Completely unnecessary for you to comment something like that.
With Little Grip Garage as a guest star its always a great episode.
I love to see Derek working with his sons . It reminds me of working with my son. He was helping me work on cars at 5 years old, and now he's grown and I'm blessed to get to work with him every day at our shop.
Love how he is not just the flashlight holder. Well taught dad!
Seeing the next generation getting into cars is so cool.this little feller knows his way around a rig! Just imagine the knowledge he will have when he is 20. Has a very keen eye for little details. Very cool episode. So enjoyable to watch.
The look on his face at the end says it all, Dad. You andMom are doing an awesome job with them and it truely shows. Keep up the great work, my man.
I've watched dozens of episodes of VGG. This was, by far, my favorite. Well done...
Absolutely Sir, Absolutely. Danged onions…
Thought my eye was just wet for a second but I've got tears dripping off my chin and sniveling: waiting for my wife to ask me what's wrong
Bentley is "daddy's little buddy" and he probably already knows more about cars than I've learned in my 76 years. I like this episode very much already.
Had a '77 stepside I ordered new with 3 spd on the tree & grab rails on the bed. Great looking truck, but in Minn winters, 2wd not so great.
Sure wish I still had it, put 4wd underneath. I loved that truck! Bentley, you young man have excellent taste! Attaboy!
Best dad award goes to Derek. The video was very entertaining and it made me smile. I miss the dayz of building things with my kids. Hope to see more of this adventure with his truck.😊
Man these are the moments. Them kids will never forget these times. Lifelong lessons and memories in the garage. Derek is a great man and a great father. Love this show been watching for years. Only 18 and wish i had this kind of hands on experience at that age.
It honestly doesn't get much better than that Derek. Thanks for sharing your memory with us.. Amazing time for both of you, he has no idea what this kind of stuff means to an old man!!
It's nice to see Father and son building a vehicle. Not many kids today take any ambition and doing anything. Not alone building a truck with her father. Enjoy the video love you very much. Keep up the good work Derek.
The smile on your son's face as he took off says it all, epic!
Best time as a kid as me and dad went to shop to work on his trucks.
Bently is a cool lil dude and he has great taste in vehicles! That kids gonna go far in life! 🙂
It’s cool that a dad and son can have so much time together.
