Of all car restoration channels, I think, while the restoration was certainly impressive, what was more impressive were your manners and compassion towards the family. Many restoration channels like to snap up and hose down cars as a quick flip for views. You guys are amongst the good ones, what a great team and a great job. 👍🏼
I love watching how you two get along so good as father and son working together. I lost my dad this year on his birthday. I wished we worked that well together.
I agree. My dad and I working together was like fire and water, not good. LOL. I like this car, a keeper at least worth taking it to it's limits and best it can be. I know, many want to change out the distributor but I ask why. Nothing wrong with points and condenser as was original and from what I can tell by just the video that distributor looks in very good shape. Just have to change them points and condenser each year or so. A good set of points and condenser run about $50 bucks these days. Used to be able to walk in any store back then and get a set for around $5-7 bucks. Change them out about anywhere, even without a feeler gauge and be able to get home. I used to keep a new set in the trunk just in case.
@@ckstaff You are lucky, at leas to get to work with your dad on something. My dad was so busy that he just comes home in time for dinner then goes to his room. I never asked him to help me with my homework or anything that is upsetting. Same with my mom. Eventhough that was the case, I love them both dearly and miss them so much. I was very young when they passed away.
Hi Guys! I just found your site. This Dad and son duo is amazing. You guys really work well together. Today is my 71st Birthday. My late dad bought me a brand new 1968 LeMans. Same 350, black over gold. We shared it till I graduated in 70. Then it was all mine. I dressed it up with Keystone mags. Thanks for the memories as Dad died in 1978. Great Guy!!!! Keep it goin' I love you guys!
The first car I ever owned was a 1980 Trans Am. I've always had a soft spot for Pontiacs and Dodge's. And I love that you gave the seller an opportunity to get involved in the video and the reclamation. He must have loved that. God bless you.
One of my favourite times of the week when everyone is still in bed on a Saturday morning, I make a nice coffee and watch the latest Restored/Turnin Rust. Great job guys.
I was wondering when you were going to clear the windshield, so you can see where your going, disconnecting the fuel line to the tank is usually one of the 1st steps in getting a will it start car going. The Mortske points flick helped, the pontiac turned out to be a decent looking car. Good luck in finishing it up.
Yes, the quilt on the windshield was bothering me the whole time. It didn’t bother either one of them. It just goes to show you some people don’t see that is being disgusting but these guys do an excellent job of getting old cars running. They’re a great team.
Beautiful stuff man.I can say theres no one better to have done this job.The care you guys take in bringin one back is top notch.Well thought out, planned, and executed.
I like how you kept it simple and straight to the point. You got some classy guys and have a classy ship with great character and full of honesty. I respect a whole lot. Let's see more projects & keep up the great work
As a Pontiac owner myself, I glad that this lemans got rescued! Would love to see an underside transformation a nice exhaust system! Defiantly gonna stay tuned!!
This car is very dear to my heart ; when i was born my Dad had a 1972 Lemans Sport with a 400 c.i. in Anaconda Gold color and that is the best looking car he had in all the ones he had after that until his passing in 2009. If i ever win the lottery, THAT is the 1st thing on my wish list, to buy one and build an exact replica of my Dad's to enjoy for the rest of my life. In the meantime i'm the proud owner of my own classic Pontiac ; a 1968 Beaumont (Canadian Chevelle) that i've owned for 13 years and i'm at my 3rd one, all 1968 but all different engines. Love your channel and hope you guys will still be around for a long time !
GREAT VIDEO GUYS !! YOUR BOTH ARE SAVERS,, AMEN.. OF CARS I AM NOT SURE IF I HAVE SEEN THIS VIDEO BEFORE I REMEMBER THE ROUND BACK WINDOWS,, YOU DONT SEE THESE IN A PONTIAC''S THAT OFTEN . THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
I’ve been watching you for so long I remember this one. I love this car. I bet if you did a little more work, it would be a very reliable car. Buff it out and spit shine it. I love this channel ❤️
I just wanted to say thank you guys for taking the time to give theses cars a chance of life on the road again and I love watching your shows once again thanks
I had one just like this Lemans except it was painted yellow with a black vinal top. No air-conditioning because of it coming from the east coast. They kept it in really good condition. Thanks for showing this video. It sure brought back good memories when I had one back in the early 80s
I WOULD PAY YOU 12K FOR THIS JEWEL!!!! After all repairs and a new welded trunk. I would give you that no looking back! If you see some Brazilian commenting here, that is because there are also many muscle cars in Brazil, and many Brazilian people recovering these beauties, just like you guys. They are complimenting and greeting you guys for the incredible work, which I also agree with. Greetings from a Portuguese living in Taiwan.
You just can’t go wrong with the body lines on these cars.. They look so good especially with the addition of those rims and tires and this factory color green rocks too!!
Bravo, Team Turnin Rust! Another great vid. I watched a Restored vid this morning. Part 2 of the unibody camper soon to be diesel machine! Keep up the great work!
That is a really cherry LeMans. I hope you will keep us in the loop with whatever else you do. And By the Way, the editing has really become upscale! Nice work.
That old car is a survivor...I think it needs a trunk pan, and a holley sniper, show it some love...Great video, great find, can't wait to see where you take this build.
I bet you were glad to get that windshield clean. I'm surprised it wasn't the first thing you did before working on it. Great car and video. Please do another on this one.
I have watched I dont know how many restoration channels, but this is my first time on Turnin Rust. And let me tell you, it wont be my last! Greetings from Sweden!
Great follow-up to the first content! It's kind of a stretch to call it a "Muscle Car," but with a four barrel carburetor with CAI, new intake manifold, HEI, headers, & dual exhaust, it's close. Keep on keeping on with this Le Mans!
Why all that? It was never intended as a muscle car. Lemans-GTO, Malibu-Chevelle SS, etc. Restore it as close to what it was and it would be a cool car as is, a Lemans. If it were mine, I would even keep the distributor with the points and a new original exhaust system. No need for headers. Change carb to 4 barrel is fine but IMO keeping this car as close to original is best and a daily driver at that.
When people pretend to have sentiments on a old rust bucket that they had 35 plus years to work on themselves, and didn't do jack to it, and when you show up, all of a sudden, it's such a sentiment item they all shook up about it like they can't part with it, turn around and say "Good Bye not interested."
Was pleasantly surprised when this video popped up on my feed. My dad used to have a 74 Lemans in that same green, never seen another one as I'm English. Brought back some amazing memories, can't wait to find what you do with it
Those wheels really make the car look great, and I hope that you make more videos on its restoration. I just wished you had grabbed that Dodge pickup at the same time.
Just wanted to say, I love the content and effort y'all put into the videos. Great job! Thanks again. BTW, I was a nervous wreck while you boys were inside that barn.
My neighbor had one exactly like it! He welded those B pillar portholes shut, removed the vinyl top, painted it raspberry red metal flake, added an LS and 18 inch mag wheels! Then sold it for 18500!
Another great video. I love the old Pontiacs. I am a bit partial since I own a 69 Firebird that I’ve been slowly fixing up the last 5-6 years. I almost took offense to Lance’s comment about only changing the spark plugs and it running so good…. It’s a Pontiacs of course it’ll work… lol… thank you for what you do putting classics back on the road and taking us along for the ride!!
I found Turning Rust! The Pontiac Lemans thumbnail caught my attention. A good friend’s mom had one and we rode around in it as teenagers. I watched the video and was captivated. I don’t know very much about cars. This one brought back memories. I like Lance and Wyatt. After the video I found your video about being tied up for a while, Restored (will subscribe there too!). I learned of your faith in our Father and praised Him as I saw your story. God Bless you.
I really love how you guys respect the old owners and save the memories for them. One critique though I WISH YOU PRESSURE WASHED THEM BEFORE WORKING ON THEM SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE. So glad you saved another one maybe someday I can buy one off you. God bless you three !
This one's for sure a worthwhile effort to bring it into the 2024's with modern steering, brakes, etc. A four barrel is all the engine needs,, those little 305's have more than enough power to go light to light, city and hi-way cruizing will be fine.
The last episode I watched, you two had to dig a vehicle out. Now you had to cut your way into this. Keep these episodes coming. If you ever run across a 41 Ford 1/2 ton pickup, drop me a line.
I drove a LeMans to high school back in 97'. Had a stroker motor in it. Got 6 miles to the gallon. Man i love those bodylines. Mine didnt have those port windows though.
Jesus im in love with this channel! What I appreciate the most is the unedited dialogue, which really gives us an insight of the step-by-step sequential troubleshooting and sharing of ideas of what you guys are talking in detail, so we can listen along and learn, instead of having to guess the reason why certain things were done. In contrast, when they cut out the dialogue and overlay music across the video (as seen in some car restoration/rebuild channels) while good as a concept, the viewer misses out on the details and the process of repairing things. You patiently explain things without rushing too, and that is also something to note. Keep it up guys, I wish you success!
Good video -- beautiful Pontiac -- hard to believe they left such a nice car parked for so long. Btw -- maybe you could go back and get the Dodge pickup that pulled out of the way -- on the outside it sure looked to be in good shape!!
This is so cool and brings back lots of memories. I had a '72 Luxury LeMans in this same green color but with a white top. Interior was the same color too, but was the top-line Morrokide buckets with a console. I agree on thoes small rounds windows . Not a fan at all so if I was going to have to do roof rust repair thoes windows would get plated in. Great find for an old school muscle car. Glad owner's found ur channel because she'll get saved
Nice find and even better rescue!!! Both my finds were barn finds....69 442 and 85 Grand National.....you have to take care of them as they were forgotten by someone else!!! Great Job.....I put the same rims on my 442!

i remember when you pulled her out of the barn, so glad to see her back on the channel and being worked on, she's a beauty, a true survivor

Can’t believe how much those new wheels and tires changed the whole look of the car! They are perfect!! Nice find, really enjoyed the video. 👍🏼👍🏼

The tail line style it way better than the new dodge challenger.
The whole car look very very

Great car and video. Thanks for sharing and God bless
Nice! Y’all got her going! Been a while since y’all picked her up!
A real bargain for $2k Easily a daily driver or more You guys were blessed with this one Our God is good All the time

Can't begin to say how many of these exact kind of finds my old man & I have done! Wish I'd taken pics now that he's gone.
Amazing.
I drove a LeMans to high school back in 97'. Had a stroker motor in it. Got 6 miles to the gallon. Man i love those bodylines. Mine didnt have those port windows though.
