It shocks me that people genuinely think trans people are dangerous. They aren't dangerous, they're people trying to live their lives happily. Transphobes always use the excuse of "what about the kids?" In response to someone being trans, trying to invalidate them by using children as an excuse.

its pretty wild for think that some far right bigots genuinely think i (a trans kid) dont exist. you say ive been manipulated into being trans, but i am trans in spite of all of the laws i see targeted against me. i am trans in spite of my parents reluctance to accept me (theyve come around, thankfully, and im very grateful that they have). i am trans in spite of you saying that i dont exist and the hate you spew against me, saying that i have some kind of illness and that i need to be eradicated.
i wasn't manipulated. i realized who i was, i made the decision to come out and find labels and pronouns and a name that were right for me. it made me so much happier, and so much more comfortable in my own skin, despite the dysphoria i suffer. i feel like i understand myself a lot better now.

Being a victim and being an abuser are not mutually exclusive. Many people who hurt people have been hurt before, but that doesn’t make it suddenly okay. Don’t feel back about being angry at someone just because they’ve also had a hard life. Their trauma should not be your abuse.
I once provided a list of “not bare minimum” things my boyfriend has done.
And some girl said her abusive ex did the same.
And I said “abusers go above and beyond to continue abusing your, doesn’t make him less of a piece of shit”

@@terittShe was probably still healing and not able to accept that her relationship was abusive and felt the need to defend him. I've been in her shoes too at one point. It sucks and takes alot to break out of that mindset when you've rationalised their behaviour.
I hope she's further along her healing journey now, this is not to be dismissive towards you at all, just shed some understanding on where she was likley at.

That’s exactly why I wished her healing in my reply because I was so utterly flabbergasted, I think I said something along the lines of “I genuinely hope you’re in therapy because you are literally defending someone who abused you to me, just cause he’s human doesn’t mean he deserves to be defended for being horrible, and it’s concerning that you felt the need to defend him at all. I do genuinely hope you heal.”
My ex was horrible to me but they always said i was the abusive one,, then i realized i dodnt have all these ugly fights with literally any of my other friends....they have had a super hard life and have DID so i always felt guilty and like an evil mean bitch. like yeah when i was a young traumatized child living with their abusers and we both hurt each other, but when i got older i realized they were the one starting all the fights spreading drama attacking my friends etc...

reminder that if you have a friend/partner/person in your life that depends on you for their mental health, to essentially “fix” them, thats a toxic and codependent relationship. you dont need to be responsible for someones health and you dont need to feel bad for setting boundaries ❤️

Went to my city's pride (we do it in August for some reason lol) and the host of the drag show found a 3 year old in the audience and kept tryna get the little girl a tiara to make her first pride special (it was pride so one was found promptly).

so i just got back from church about two hours ago. we had a baptism service today (i go to old people church because im scared of kids my age) and it got me thinking about stuff. so i know that these children (mostly babies and toddlers) most likely did not have a choice in whether or not they were baptized. being baptized (as a baby/ child) in my religion (sort of a non-denominational right now (we split from the methodist church because it apparently got “too woke”)) means that your parents are dedicating you to the church. so as a person who’s gone through my fair share of religious trauma, i really felt for these children. i just hope that they won’t be traumatized like so many of us who grow up religious are.

i hope youre okay! i was baptised as a kid and people have told me a lot that automatically means i’m a christian; almost forcing it on me, it can be quite overwhelming at times. my heart goes out to those kids and i hope they grow up without any religious related trauma.

a quick message on “becoming” a therian:
yes, you can become a therian. But not in the way you think. You cannot intentionally become a therian, that is otherlinking (or copinglinking). But you CAN unintentionally “become” a therian due to trauma. It’s basically just identifying as an animal as a trauma response. And what is therianthropy? It’s identifying as an animal due to involuntary animalistic experiences! And that can happen DUE TO TRAUMA. I apologize if this is messy, but I really just wanted to say this because it’s pretty important.

Guess what? I found lots of shroomy bois today including a chicken of the woods and some chanterelles. I couldn’t take them though because the snails had already taken over. I saw a mouse in the woods, lots of cool bugs, a lizard, a bald eagle, tons of moss and lichen, and some partridgeberries.

the person who stated that one piece is not that deep and is just a show probably didn’t even pay attention 💀 literally in the show during the arlong arc with the fishmen, the fishmen quite literally say that they are obsessed with race and believe that they are the superior race. they state clearly that they believe that by colonizing land, that they are spreading their great race and that by taking over the world, their picture perfect race will change the terrible and lowly human race. it does not require much critical thought to come to this conclusion as it is literally said in characters dialogue (by both the fishmen and the inhabitants of the villages the fishmen have colonized and destroyed/committed genocide towards) it’s embarrassing to have such a take that one piece is just a show with no allegories for real world problems when they are so clearly presented and intentionally done by the author (as the author has confirmed some of this) op either didn’t actually pay attention or is just so desperate to not accept that one piece has very leftist ideals and actively showcases them, ideals which op seems to not share.

Did anyone else see the Perseid meteor shower last night? Earth passed through the orbit of the Swift Tuttle comet and that happens only once every 133 years. It peaked last night but meteors will be visible until the end of August in the Northern Hemisphere. The meteors appear most often around the Perseus and Cassiopeia constellations. Some of the meteors are visible for just a fraction of a second while others take several seconds to streak across the sky and burn out completely. uh so ive been writing an au fic for roughly 2 years now, and ive just started posting it on ao3, problem is when you write for two years you improve a ton, which isnt a bad thing but it just makes your old writing look very, very bad-
i'm proud of the work im doing now (i finished writing the 58th chapter last night, i write very slowly and only when i have inspo and have multiple variations of the au that im working on, only one of which im posting to ao3), but the problem is im revising the earlier chapters to make them less bad

i feel guilty for only having 4 of what will likely be around 75 chapters posted (im not fully finished writing it all but i do have a general timeline), especially when they are nowhere NEAR the quality of what i'm doing now, even with the revisions. im getting extremely anxious about it for no reason, especially since i know it's not my best work and its getting absolutely no attention anyways (the 9 hits i have are likely from my friends which i shared it with)

I absolutely LOVE One Piece! I can totally understand people who can't get into it because it's an incredibly long running series, but it's genuinely so good. I always recommend the manga over the anime, just because the manga is much less full of fan-service than the anime, but honestly even the anime is great, would highly recommend.

there's something about the way that single people (and even some aro/ace) talk about relationships that just,, irks me. it's like they view relationships as some gross, "cringe" phase of their life and how they're SO much better off because they don't have another person "weighing them down." it's a very individualistic way to view human interaction and in all honesty, i don't like it. it truly does feel like a normalized superiority complex. maybe this is just me, but i really don't think people should so heavily demonize relationships.

I mean, often times people who do think like that have certain negative experiences in previous relationships, and how NOW they have more "me time" moments instead of stressing over another person. (Which often isn't good for ones mental sanity) Relationships are hard, Constantly stressing over specific "close" relationships is hard. I will say that if their just stating that relationships aren't for them and that they feel so much better without said relationship then, honestly that's totally fine, but if their forcing that narrative on others then that's a problem.
Specifically with romantic relationships (which I'm assuming is the type of relationship you're referring to), I personally think there isn't a NEED for them (or to rather be in one) and I often times see people stressing over wanting one or having a desire to be in one. (That honestly makes sense).
The only thing that I'll say is 100% needed is generally support which is often times platonic relationships. (Or just community)
What I'm getting from your comment is that you don't like how single people view relationships (specifically in the context of themselves) as something negative. I don't see much of a problem with it since the negative view is more directed towards their own experience rather than others. (Unless their hurting themselves in the process).
You mention superiority complex so I think you mean, your dislike is mainly towards single people who view them being single (or not in a relationship) as better than people who are in a relationship. Cause I would say that's more related to what a superiority complex ACTUALLY is. Sorry if I missed a mark or two.
Usually it's because their previous relationships didn't work out and they feel happier and less burdened now that they're single. I get you if it's a matter of them looking down on others in relationships. But if they experienced more cons than pros in their romantic life and realized they're happier when they're single, I think that's totally fine. That's their personal experience.

why is the second guy so happy sounding? it pisses me off, it feels like he is mocking me.
The guy stitching with the cooking video usually acts all cheery while ranting about capitalism, it's sort of his gimmick and ו think it's so the app doesn't block/report him for "bullying," since it doesn't register the passive aggression. The second person was likely acting cheery for the same reason, being sarcastic and passive aggressive. As someone who acts passive aggressive when talking about things ו hate, ו can attest it's pretty much a censor *and* a coping mechanism. Sorry if it seems mocking 😅

ok so i had this massive rant for the argument about 12:50 but youtube SUCKED AND CRASHED BEFORE I COULD POST IT, but let me just say a couple things: the first one is categorically untrue, the second one has been significantly inflated due to the eras tour, and the third kinda sucks but it shouldn’t take away from her being one of the most accepting celebrities in our modern day life.
that tiktok is influenced by the extreme misogyny surrounding her name in the media. if she was a man, these accusations would slip away into nothingness, and that tiktok ultimately ends up fighting FOR misogyny instead of helping fight AGAINST someone like, oh, idk, matty healy, who everyone ends up criticizing HER for dating instead of actually calling him a bad person. It sounds like a good message on the surface, but it’s actually really sucky underneath.

I think you're kinda wrong? Who cares if it's inflated because of Eras, that doesn't negate the harm. It only being true for a brief amount of time doesn't make it not true. And Taylor has faced no repercussions for anything listed in that TikTok. Yeah, a lot of people have internalized misogyny. But Taylor Swift is one of the most successful artistd in the world. Artists get called out all the time and nothing changes. I think Taylor gets called out more frequently *because* her fanbase is so huge, they like to think she's the kindest person ever, and sweep bad things she's done under the rug. Just because internalized misogyny plays a part in people calling out Taylor Swift doesn't mean she doesn't deserve it. Just like how I'm fed up that the body shop charges $40 an hour. They deserve that money, but I don't think it's fair that they can charge out the ass when everyone else is going broke. Taylor deserves to be called out, but it's not fair that we aren't pushing back as hard onto the misdeeds of other celebrities.
