Was anyone else ever bullied for a special interest? I remember in elementary school I was bullied for liking bugs by this one girl. At recess I would look at bugs and she liked to kill them in front of me. My 4th grade teacher also wouldn’t let me pick up bugs at recess. Did I give a shit? No. I continued catching bugs

there's a challenge one of my classes are hosting where if you read for 10 hours (not straight if you want), they'll host a pizza party and it reminded me of this one time where i did absolutely nothing else for an entire day except read this one specific book i've been looking forward to reading for a while (it was Disability Visibility for those who are wondering)
I remember in third grade if you read the most in the class SJ Sharkie (local hockey mascot) would give and sign a hat. I won and I love my hat, but I'm thinking that most people who would have read enough to win would be nerds (like me, ngl)and say "thanks for the sportsball?? hat ig??? Whooo hockey?"
I love reading so I would've done that with absolute EASE 😭book nerds get rewarded for just doing what they do any other day pretty much. My school does this K-6 Book-It! program with Pizza Hut where if you logged a certain number of hours each month, you'd get a coupon for a free personal pan pizza. Little me got lots of personal pan pizzas. I'm pretty sure the point was to get kids to WANT to read but I just got rewarded for doing one of my favorite things that I would've done with or without the promise of free pizza.

I’ve been there. I’d recommend doing a bit of googling about ur symptoms and making sure to put them in a photo album
you may have something completely treatable like an iron deficiency or potassium.
For future blood draws, start chugging or drinking as much water as you can without getting sick like a day before the draw. take a hot pack or ask if the doctors have them. It works miracles for bringing veins to the surface.

Crochet update 10: I have crocheted 17 rows since yesterday’s update, probably gonna see if I can do a few more later. I’m 25/56 rows into the front panel of my BMO bag, so ahead of my plan to finish it by next Sunday! I don’t buy patterns, I just sorta work out what I want/need to do for the project myself so if anyone want instructions for the BMO bag once I’m done let me know.
Life updates: I also finished a 60 page document of maths questions for sixth form today! I got behind on my sixth form starter work but I’m nearly caught up now.

My special interests right now are tanks and planes, which is really cool because I get enjoyment out of that, but also, like, the downside is that the entire sector is like, soaked in imperialism and war. The only country that makes any really cool fighter jets and tanks are the US, UK and sometimes Germany. It really puts a damper on the whole thing :(

What's Mina? (Rant after this.) Also, my new school isn't saying when the fire alarms are going to be so now I can't bring my book outside really fast. I know you aren't supposed to bring things outside because fire, but waiting outside is really boring and usually it's a drill so I don't have anything else to do.
At least the alarm is better than last year. They got a new one for the school, and it was loud and shrill (and felt pure white but that might've been the lights or something). And then they tested it w/o telling anyone, which was an asshole move on their part. So then either people (like my class) went outside like a fire drill (which we did well even though the teacher was getting food or something like he does a lot, but that's not the point), or they did lockdown (or the gun drill if you're not familiar). It was very anxiety inducing and very mean.

I don’t really have any advice for the fire alarm thing but I get what you mean my school does the same it’s horrible and super stressful, I think it is to do with not knowing if it’s real so when it isn’t it’s almost exactly the real thing cause the same levels of stress are there. It’s still shit tho, maybe you could carry round a small note book/sketchbook or a fidget toy around in a pocket so when it happens you have something to do whist you wait

Btw, I have Goals Night in a few days (like 2). I feel like it's hard to know both the student and the teacher in just 4 weeks though. I think it should be farther back. But it's also for the school's and the teacher's (which aren't always the best) goals, so maybe being early makes the goals less started upon. I dunno.
Also, I think it's really sad that they don't give out flyers so that people can know how official school ceremonies (like graduation, graduation but you're actually just moving up a grade and not leaving the school, and signing night) because nobody read them.

Oop, time to learn coping mechanisms to lower your heart rate, cuz that ain't good for you. I think the highest I remember recording was like.. ~135-140 during a panic attack. My resting heart rate is somewhere around 80-85?
The 60 bpm thing is resting heart rate, so to get an accurate resting heart rate, lay down for like 10 minutes first (when you're not feeling *as* anxious), then measure it.

I don’t want to be here anymore. I am so sick of nobody caring that I feel like I’m fucking dying. I’m so sick of living in this godforsaken house with a father who thinks it’s okay to mock me and tells me I’m pathetic for crying in genuine distress. He says I’m doing it all to manipulate him and my mom. And I can’t even leave anytime soon. I’m so sick of his snarky comments and gaslighting. And I started sh again yesterday. Not cutting. It hasn’t gotten that bad yet. But I bite down on my hands and arms. Very hard. I don’t know why. I’m just so sick of this. He’s been texting me this whole time. I can’t deal with this. My hands hurt. My whole body aches. And I’ve still got a lab report to write. I’ve never written one before. I don’t know what to do. I hate this all so much. I’m so sick of this. I physically feel sick. Not to mention my period making everything worse.
Do you have anyone to talk to? Like a trusted adult? Because your father is a menace. The only thing I can think of is If you can, ask to hang out with your friends at the library or a ymca and have someone drop you off. Your parents can just think you’re hanging out. Find a librarian to talk to. Libraries and librarians are notorious for helping people find resources and help. If there’s a ymca near you there’s also a counselor in there. That’s all I know to do because running away is way too risky and would only worsen things. I really hope things get better. Don’t lose hope💕

hi, i don't really know how to help you other than suggesting helplines knowing wholeheartedly i'd never use one and never did, even in my worst moments. spend as much time as possible outside of home, in places you feel good, be it your friend's house, a library, a forest, school or just wandering through your neighbourhood. if you can, tell a trusted adult about how you're feeling, if you don't have one, telling your friends may also help, just to get it out and for them to know you're having a hard time so they can help for example let you stay in their houses more, so you don't have to be near your father.
just wanted to let you know, you matter, you are awesome, you are strong and it gets better. it truly does. sometimes you have to cut some people from your life, sometimes those people are ones who are supposed to be the ones to help and support you, but if they abuse amd mistreat you, then it's okay to go no contact.
i did it, i threw my abuser (one of my parents [in my case, i was fortunate enough to have one decent parent who was also abused by the other one but at one point, he finally decided to get a divorce at get custody of all the kids]) out of my life and it's much better now. it doesn't get all good in the moment, it's still hard to deal with trauma and stuff, but it gets better amd you're strong and i believe in you, i believe you can do it.
also, try some alternatives to sh, i heard just painting lines (you know, with a pen or something) instead of cutting might help, or kicking/beating/biting a pillow or something else instead of yourself and probably there are some more, i haven't tried any, i've only learnt there are alternatives after i stopped sh but according to others, it might help.
@@ephemeral_style maybe try asking to do study sessions with your friends or work on homework with them? so you can be out of the house but also have you schoolwork done. you can also try going to a library or a cafe to study

Some of it may not be detectable through bloodwork or genetic testing. At least for me, it came out of nowhere and shocked my doctors. If you are having general difficulty completeing every day tasks, constipation, nausea, dizziness, upset stomach, nausea in the morning, always sweating, headaches, hard to breathe or hold your breath or blow out air with pressure behind it (being able to blow a bubble vs being able to blow up a balloon like your lungs are a damn helium canister),
then an autonomic disorder screening would be great for you.

Cluster b personality disorders aren't words for you to use to describe someone you don't like. That's offensive and also generalizing. The symptoms of the disorders don't mean a person is good or bad or abusive, they are symptoms of a disorder categorized by a lack of emotional and behavioral regulation that can also be influenced by or caused by trauma in early childhood (correct me if I'm wrong).
An abuser isn't automatically a narcissist. A person who likes to be alone or isn't super open to communicating with you isn't automatically antisocial. A person who is outwardly emotional and inconsistent doesn't automatically have BPD. A person who is impulsive, idealistic, and flirtatious doesn't automatically have HPD.
I'm all for people being understanding of others who may not know or understand certain words or language enough to choose different words because many people have a limited vocabulary and use slang and just popular terms to communicate, it's not inherently bad to do so. I just hope everyone who saw this video and these comments can leave learning new things about some of the language we use and choose to use different words.

I'm going to high school now but my school expects me to be a "young adult" and act like it. But I'm still a minor. Like, I know that I shouls behave somewhat well, and I do, but I'm not a fucking adult yet, and don't want ti be trwated like I am a fully fledged adult. Like, I do like some amount of freedom, and I do want to be recognized for my humanity, and for people to acknowledge that I have thiughts and feeling s that matter and can be feep and stuff. But I'm not an adult. I'm not even a "young adult", because I'm a teenager, and I want people to not put responsibility on me like an adult because I'm not one.
I dunno if that makes sense. But at least my school is the best hellhole in my area.

ive been in the same position, and i understand how horrible and hard it is. i know words dont help much, but what i will say is, surround yourself with positivity. not so much it’s overwhelming, but it can make you feel better. journal, be self indulgent, do not watch/read anything sad/ upsetting as that will not help. try to talk to someone about your feelings if you can/ are able too- or talk to yourself. that can help too. go out for a walk, fresh air always helps so much. draw, dance, think about happy stuff. maybe make something; do some arts and crafts. i know how suffocating and horrible it feels to want to leave this world, and, i know saying ‘it gets better’ sounds stupid, but it does. you just need to stay around long enough to realise. i hope you feel better soon 💞💞💞 (p.s, have this shark to make you feel better 🦈)

Whiny rant btw. Sorry.
I've been having a political identity crisis. I'm in US Gov. this school year and it's already unbelievably exhausting. I don't know how to describe it other than that. Exhausting. On one hand, I'm very, extremely passionate about my beliefs and morals (and as vocal about it as I can be, comfortably) - I don't see how I can be wrong. I don't see how the society I want can be bad. I don't see how my morals can be bad to anyone... on the other hand, I, and this whole community, are obviously an incredibly vast minority. I feel like people think I'm ridiculous. Insane. Crazy. Whatever word they wanna use. I don't wanna be seen as, or even *be* "too extreme" or "radical", but I am.. I feel bad. I feel like I am too extreme and I am a/the "nutjob". Don't get me wrong, I love this community! It's so nice and accepting and supportive and I always look forward to reading comments or just watching the videos - but I feel, different.. There have already been some things that I don't 100% agree with or understand (how acab would be true, letting minors go through HRT and/or surgeries, etc.). I feel like this community treats things as more black-and-white than they are or should be. There's more nuance - there has to be - but I don't see it..
Anyway, sorry for the rant. If anyone has any advice or criticism, I'm totally open to hearing it. Please..

In reply to the HRT and surgery statement, it's incredibly difficult to even access HRT, much less surgery, as you have to go through many meetings with therapists and doctors, and even then they can just decide you don't need it. Surgery only comes as an adult, as no minor is currently even allowed in most states and some places to access HRT. -Ienzo

while ofc not all narcissists are evil abusers. specifying narcissistic abuse is important because some people might not know what to look for or even not even know they're in an abusive relationship. the majority see the word abuse and think physical which is very different than what a narcissistic parent/partner would do so finding resources and community specifically for narcissistic abuse survivors would be much harder if it was "they're just an abuser don't bring mental illness into this"
