Y’all I finally got to have a full blown conversation with my boyfriend about anti-racist action and how we, me as white passing and him as white, growing up had been socialised to have a lot of internalised racism, especially living in the American south. And on top of that I got to talk about socio-economic topics with him and even ACAB topics too and I’m so glad he shares the same ideals. It was a great conversation to have, even if we stayed up till 4 am doing so 🤭

Yeah, I'm a disabled person who sometimes calls myself crippled, but it's mostly as a joke, because it's just outdated. It's not the worst word out there, but there are just better ones to use nowadays. I think disabled people should be free to choose whatever to call themselves tho.

Finally got to see a pain specialist after so long, and was very anxious because the doctor was male. He turned out to be great and called out why certain tests were not done for me and got them in. Honestly so sweet, and I'm glad I am finally making progress on a diagnosis.
Yes!!!! 1st of all congrats on the diagnosis! I know it can be very hard to find doctors who actually listen and care especially in america where you also have to deal with insurance and bills. And 2nd I also really like tonight we riot! I’m usually not a huge fan of combat games (I’m more of an open world kind of person) but this one was very fun. I’m gonna be making a comment about why narc abuse doesn’t exist. I’ve seen ALOT of y’all defend it, and it’s really ableist.
What most of y’all are talking about is push and pull abuse. This kind of abuse is when the victim has love pushed onto them (gifts, praise, spending time together) just to have it pulled away suddenly. This makes the victim addicted to the abuser.
Push and pull abuse has a name. “Narc abuse” doesn’t exist. NPD is a traumagenic condition. There’s only one symptom of NPD that could be considered negative, but all disorders (especially traumagenic ones) have negative sides. They are trauma responses.
“Why can’t I say narc abuse? I’m not saying all narcs are abusers” let me put it to you this way. A lot of autistic people have difficulty with tone and boundaries. Imagine if someone started using the term “autistic abuse” to describe someone who repeatedly disregarded their boundaries on purpose. Ableist, right? Same thing here!
“Well some abuse patterns are stronger in narcs” says who? The term “narc/narcissist” has been used for YEARS to just describe anyone who’s slightly selfish. “Oh well my one cousin-“ you had a trashy cousin. Imagine someone calling a douchebag with low empathy “autistic” and using that to label them with “autistic abuse”.
If you use this term, then you have internalized ableism. I’m not saying you’re a terrible person, but you need to unpack it. People with internalized bigotry don’t THINK they have internalized bigotry. That’s what makes it internalized.
This isn’t a call out post. This isn’t directed to anyone in particular. I’ve seen a HUGE rise in “Narc abuse” believers lately (here and other places) and I wanted to put to rest a lot of the common speaking points

I listened to Melanie Martinez songs from 2018 to a few months ago because they were used in a lot of edits in fandoms I was in. I found out about the sa situation and then asked in a comment section if people knew how horrible she was because they were like super fangirling about her (calling her a queer sad girl icon, iconic, etc.). I genuinely just wanted to inform people about it. The amount of mean replies I got was insane. "Cite your sources" mf are you serious you are the one doing mental gymnastics with no proof how it "couldn't even have happened in the first place". Amnesia about traumatic events can happen.

wrt last tiktok!! we've been so much better off knowing lol. we used to actively argue about things or feel imposter syndrome about something someone else did/made and so many other things we didn't understand, never questioning the assumption we were all the same person until talking to other systems which is so wild in retrospect cause of how obvious it seems now. singlethood is just so invisible as a concept that even system-adjacent stories usually have 2 physically separable beings implied even when one is incorporeal. hell, even the physically inseparable ones were usually separate at one point, and then implanted or merged or something. unless you're actually around other systems or learning about specific disorders the whole concept of real systemhood is treated as virtually unthinkable.

neropsicy = nerodivergent. basically. its a funny silly way to say neurodivergent. but i have noticed that when most people say this they are almost always exclusively referring to autistic and / or people with adhd. wich sucks. i for one am not here for making even more ways for someone to call me autistic without saying the word 'autism.' its annoying and ableist as hell.
but another reason i /in particular/ despise the term nerospicy is that people with more support needs are literally ALWAYS left out of these spaces. the times i have tried to join 'nerospicy' communities (or fuck it, when I've tried to join #actuallyautistic communities) they literally never give a shit about higher or mid support needs people. MYSELF INCLUDED. it is literally only ever low support needs people who've never unpacked thier internalized ableism or ever interacted with a high / mid support needs person or even with our communities. literly. ever.
also just for the record. this is not about indvduals who call themselves nerospicy. i dont care what terms u use to describe yourself and your experinces. have fun you know? this is about comunites of people who group together around the notion of being 'nerospicy' and the patterns i have noticed within them.
yeah, I've noticed this too. neurospicy the way some people use it seems like it means just on the edge of "normal", like normal + some spice. of course not everyone means it that way but some people have rlly used it to just include people who are low support needs and have similar "almost-nt" experiences to them.

PREACH!!!! Me and my friends use “neurospicy” as a joke and all as neurodivergent people. It was made as a thing for nd people to joke with, a less medical term for when your vibing. What your talking about (/npa) reminds me of “a touch of the ‘tism” or “I’m so OCD”, appropriating things that us as nd people came up with to joke about and have fun with into things that nt people can use when they are exhibiting stereotypical symptoms of neurodivergences.
Also as a high support needs ADHDer (maybe AuDHDer) feeling excluded from conversations is THE FUCKING WORST like I will go ask for accommodations (because the other ones they gave me didn’t work) and the person claims to be a specialist but they can’t help with anything over low support needs!!! (There’s also a lot of ableism in the accommodations team at my school but that’s a different story) and I then look for help from my trusted friend the internet and some stuff is helpful and usually shared experiences are VERY relatable but all the tips are tiny things that might help me a little bit but they don’t help enough. Ableism sucks
My neurodivergent friends and I use that word for ourselves and I hate what it’s turned into. If someone only supports low support needs but doesn’t care about mid and high support needs then they might as well not care about us at all

Crochet update 11: I finished the front panel of my BMO bag!! I’m putting the BMO bag on hold temporarily, or at least less so, because I decided like an idiot that I’m going to crochet a whole cardigan by Thursday morning to see the Barbie movie for my friend/platonic fiancé’s birthday. I also crocheted a tea bag shaped stress ball/plushie thing for their birthday present today, and I’m pretty proud of how it turned out, especially bc I’m not great at crochet increases and decreases. I’m excited about the cardigan because I haven’t worn cardigans pretty much at all since I came out as trans but I’m hoping I can disconnected the dysphoria from a pink cardigan and love them again.
Life update: My mum bought me some insect related stationery and school supplies today because insects are one of my special interests and now I get to use them at sixth form!!!
I did a similar thing, pushing myself to finish a ruffle hat before watching the barbie movie. The last row was over 2 thousand stitches, mostly double crochets. It was... a lot, lol

I dissociate and some of this shit is very relatable but it’s probably because of my OCD trauma that I think I have because having hideous intrusive thoughts that I won’t go into detail about for as long as you can remember is a very difficult thing to deal with. But if you are actually experiencing many of the symptoms of a disorder get checked out! Remember the DSM says “that cannot be explained by a different cause” (I’m paraphrasing but it says something similar to that in most if not all diagnostics). Happy… mental healthing?

i also really hate it when people go “but they grew up in a different time! their parents probably hit them too!” like ... okay? cool. it’s an explanation, and it absolutely should be recognized, but it’s in no way an excuse. it’s not a reason to roll over and say that it’s okay. because it’s not. it wasn’t. abuse doesn’t suddenly become okay when it’s generational.
and _god,_ the people who make it out to be the fault of the CHILD and _victim_ if they’re emotionally damaged by this. “i was hit and i turned out fine!” when millions of people didn’t, and still don’t. is the implication there that if it didn’t hurt _you,_ it should hurt no one else? that they’re somehow weaker? when they were children? who were new to existing? and whose parent[s] were supposed to be safe but were hurting them instead “for their own good”?
i don’t know. but i think a lot of adults completely forget what it was like to be a kid. they expect a child to have some kind of intuitive awareness and ability to express themselves and regulate emotions because they’ve spent so much time around other adults who do have those skills (generally speaking). but, still. way fewer people should be having children. it’s not some complicated theory. you’re an all-powerful and all-knowing *god* in your child’s eyes and you choose to hurt that child? for virtually no reason? when there’s several other, non-harmful, non-traumatic options? do not breed. blows my mind that there could be any other option.
I think a lot of them know it’s terrible, they’re just bad people. I mean that literally. They want the fastest and “most effective” way to get their kid to act the way they want them to act. They don’t care about the damage. They’re too lazy to parent (and I use that term RARELY but I mean it here).
You have a lot of good points here! As someone who is still going through corporal punishment, I agree, it’s wrong! It’s physical abuse but people justify it. It makes me sad seeing some of my friends saying that they’d beat their kid if they don’t obey their rules, because they haven’t experienced it for themselves, so they don’t exactly know how damaging it is to their children (they could’ve gone through other stuff though, I wouldn’t know. but like don’t beat your kids please). I do have a few points I’d like to mention though:
- Some parents are conscious of how bad it is and do it anyways. For example, one of my parents went through the same thing. They still beat up their kids. They read the articles and everything, but they said “it’s tradition! sure, some study can denounce it, but i know what’s best for you.” If you know and do it anyways, then that’s even worse than not knowing, because then you could use the excuse “I didn’t know.” A pitiful excuse, but you can educate yourself. They know and do it anyways. And it hurts.
- Corporal punishment isn’t always done with the belt. Surprisingly, not a lot of people know this where I live. Anything can be a weapon, from belts to wooden spoons, shoes to mugs. Heck, I’ve been whiplashed with a giant plastic pole! I’ve opened up to someone about that, and they were like, “that’s not valid bc corporal punishment is only with the belt.” I’m sorry, Karen (this is just a placeholder name I don’t know anyone named Karen), are you the one who got beaten with a spatula the other day? No? Then stop saying that my experiences aren’t valid. It still hurts! I still have the scars!

Also, I think I accidentally dismantled this in myself without realising it (which is such a good thing and I love it so much) because in this post, the original title was 'dangerous black man' and in the video, the artist talks about the stereotypes of black men being violent and brutes and harmful and these stereotypes in media and then there's one of the characters in my story, a black satyr (which is basically a fawn a.k.a a human top half and goat bottom half) whose name is Somar and he is the sweetest little thing and is the mentor to my main 3 characters. Somar is honestly so comforting to me because I know that if he can accept this group of outcasts and radicalists (who put down conservatives every few chapters btw ;) ), then I know that he would accept me too.

@Liz-abeth In her Crybaby album she is playing her character crybaby who has a neglectful/abusive family. A lot of her fans, such as myself, attached themselves to her music because of our own personal traumas. But she, from what I've seen, has said she didnt have those kind of parents or that kind of living situation. And because of her aesthetic, it felt like she was romanticizing traumas she didn't herself experience instead of handling the themes with care. Especially because she writes herself as the victim of these situations.

What she and Timothy did with each other was COMPLETELY consensual.
It’s frankly not out business what things they decided to CONSENSUALLY do together, might I add.
Timothy was starting to feel “left out” and “jealous” and rather acted quite childish because Melanie was beginning to become more busy/distance herself a bit.
Timothy then decided to lie about it being SA to I guess get Melanie’s attention??

So yes. Melanie did not do anything of the sort, Timothy rather lied for attention.
+ when these allegations started, majority of fans took the “victim” (Timothy)’s side and destroyed MM merch, slandered her online, sent tons of hate, and essentially canceled her. That’s why Melanie took a 3 year break. So no, most of her fans; even the most loyal ones, didn’t believe Melanie immediately.
As for the people in the comments saying that the trauma Melanie sings about in her songs is “fake”, I strongly suggest you get a life and stop wasting your time trying to disregard SOMEONE ELSES trauma. That’s not for you to speak on, and it’s not for you to decide. You did not live her life, you are not her.

I start school today and I’m so nervous (it’s 4:30 am, I just finished my essay for summer reading, and I get up in an hour and a half.) and this lack of sleep is def not good for the first day but I had such a busy day I had no time to type out my essay and refine it 😭 tbh I don’t care anymore. These members typically have amnesia between them (there’s a bunch of different kinds) so we don’t know the other people exist. This is not a bug, it’s a feature. This amnesia helps the members with trauma memories stay separated from the ones without
So before you’re aware you’re apart of a system (pre-system awareness) you just kinda explain away things like memory gaps, vocal changes, etc.
Important to note these conditions can only develop before 6-9 and can’t be cause by anything apart from trauma!

Girl, Timothy lied about it. I am willing to drop any musician I adore at the drop of a dime if they suck, especially back when I first hear about them. Timothy's story did NOT make sense and had plenty of plot holes. Plus, she had a genuinely good reason to lie on Melanie, and although I know that gRape victims can come out about what happened when people are famous, Timothy's wording made it seem like it had happened recently, which was while she was famous, meaning she still had that reason to lie. That being said, if you can find proof that shows beyond a reasonable doubt that it happened, I'm all ears, but after the incident that happened with Kwite, I'm not just gonna blindly believe stupid stories, because women can lie.

Idk I got told I have slight scoliosis at the same age as you, maybe yours progressed? It may have been due to posture and not genetics so you might want to get it checked out
