Another thought about black vs white hair is I hate how much is expected of black people when it comes to hair. It can take ages to put it into some styles, prep the texture, cleaning it takes long too (in comparison to white hair).
It's fine for me to go out with my unbrushed, greasy hair, but when a black person walks out wearing a bonnet it's "trashy". The expectation people have of black hair is ridiculous. Not only are they denied zero-effort hairstyles by society (unlike white people), they're required to put MORE effort into it than white folk.
Can we PLEASE normalise wearing bonnets outside, let black people exist, they don't owe you perfect hair all year around, god knows I don't have perfect hair but I don't get shamed for it because that's a part of white privilege.

I brought my pet rhino beetles to school and one of the guys in my class talked about wanting to sh00t my beetle and hit it with a baseball bat. @@olioccasionallyanimates27 5 gallon terrarium, about 4 inches deep of dirt(make sure there’s no pesticide or fertilizer in it) some sticks for them to climb on, some leaf litter, lightly mist terrarium with water every three or so days, feed them slices of fresh fruit. Separate males from females unless you want babies. Males must be kept solitary or they will fight. Females can live 3 or 4 bugs per 5 gallon terrarium. They are nocturnal and are most active at night. They burrow in the dirt to sleep during the day
I’ll also add that you don’t need to clean out their poops or anything because it’s so tiny and it breaks down super fast. They also don’t need a water dish. They’ll just drink the droplets on the glass from misting the terrarium and the juice from the fruit keeps them hydrated enough too

Creative Writing Prompt 171: Speaking of things I've been seeing at work this week: have you ever heard of brown widows? They're related to black widows, but they aren't dangerous. They're very invasive to the Americas though (and I think Asia and Indonesia), so if you see a big orb weaver with dark legs and a brown or gray abdomen sporting a (usually) red hourglass-maybe kill on site. They're neat little things, prettier than their cousins in my opinion.
On the other hand, black widows are indigenous to the Americas, but the name spans several different species. What fascinates me especially about them is that they almost seem to be hand-designed to be as frightening as possible to people. The ones we get in the south are Coal-black and shiny with the hourglass on the underside of a fat round abdomen. They hang perfectly still upside-down in tangled, messy webs littered with the corpses of previous meals. Their legs look skeletal, as though bones have been stuck to one another and the very tips of someone's displaced ribs filed down to needle points. You almost feel like they know you see them, that they're not afraid of you, that they know they're a threat. And no matter how good you are with spiders, the sight of the hourglass triggers something primal, some instinct that says “this will kill you” even when you know the truth about them.
They're little sweeties. If they know you see them they'll run away. They only bite if they're scared for their lives, or if they're trying to protect their eggs. Leave them alone and they'll leave you alone. They're not even that dangerous. Most bites are painful, and have deeply unpleasant effects, but even bad bites that need treatment aren't usually deadly except to infants and the elderly. I'm not trying to dismiss the risk, I just like them. I like looking at them and thinking about them.
Write about your little neurodivergent hyperfixations, the ones that make you feel isolated from your peers, the ones that make you feel like you have to justify your like of something.
