we notice this a lot especially with masc presenting/AMAB nonbinary people, ESPECIALLY when they identify with the lesbian label. the moment “masc” is associated with being lesbian in any way it tends to make a lot of people mad. kinda gross tbh. lesbians arent fem femme feminity femmy girly girls all the time (its valid if they are but yall get my point!!)

True! I'm trying to explain that to my family way to often. My little sister picks up on it sometimes. She's 12 and told me that it's much more likely that she'll have a wife than a husband in the future! I was internally freaking out because having a queer sibling is really cool, but because she was telling me all of that so casually I also replied without making it a big thing.

okay i quite literally *just* got out of class, but i need to say this
there's something so sinister about straight men taking queer songs made by queer people for other queer people and turning them into straight love songs or straight revenge songs and when queer women complain about this, they're told that it's just music and they shouldn't be so mad about it cause it just comes with the territory
but then when queer people do the same thing, we're being told that not everything is about us and that we don't need to shove our queerness down people's throats
this will never not make me mad

Ranting to boost the algorithm: Does anyone else kinda hate how Heartstopper is treated as mandatory to watch if you’re queer? Like I got pressured by my ex and her friends into reading the graphic novels and watching (most of) the first season, and I’ve hated heartstopper since because the ONLY reason she and the others wanted me to watch it was because I’m queer and it’s a queer show. I got just reduced to my queer identity (by other queer people) and treated as if none of my tastes in media persevere above wanting queer rep. I’m a sci-fi/fantasy fan, heartstopper has nothing in it (other than queer rep) that I would normally seek out and so I was completely uninterested because there weren’t exactly wizards or aliens or anything plot-wise that I enjoy. Like I understand the standpoint of “oh but you relate to it!!” but I *DONT* because we’re not a fucking monolith- and I’m absolutely sick of OTHER QUEER PEOPLE (mainly liberals tbh) acting as if we are.

Creative Writing Prompt 170: I've been seeing a lot of assassin bugs at work lately and that's kinda sent me down a rabbit hole of reading about kissing bugs and learning more about Chagas disease. Long story short, it's a very treatable disease that can become chronic and debilitating. Kissing bugs, which spread the disease between vertebrates, are responsible for killing about 10,000 people a year.
As the planet warms, and as climate refugees flee the imperial periphery, kissing bugs will spread farther north into the US and the poor, uninsured carriers of Chagas will help spread the disease to more people, who in the US will likely also be poor and unable to treat the disease before it becomes chronic. A lot of people are going to die. They don't have to. That's why we do what we do.
Write a story about the consequences of climate change. It can be a warning, a stark reminder of what may happen if we fail, or it can be hopeful-examining ways we as communities can come together and help each other through a violent world. The threat may be one you know about or one you make up, as long as you are specific. Consider the specific hurdles that must be overcome and how we overcome them, or how we fail to overcome them, and why.

I always just ignore it and laugh when they make a “I identify as trans-thin” joke (I don’t laugh becases it’s true, I laugh because I am unsafe and I’ll do whatever I can to let my family think “I’m so glad we didn’t have a freak in this family”
If I’m being honest, I love all of their company (most of the time, sometimes their annoying), like this weekend for Labor Day my family and cousins went camping, and it was so fun I got to throw a football we all played volleyball together at the net, and I even met some of my older cousins friends. Also, on our last night there I was still hanging out at one of my cousins campers and she was asking everyone what song they wanted played on the speaker, my first choice was 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton 🫡🫡❤️❤️ and then my second choice was It ain’t my Fault by Brothers Osborne (for the record these are both country songs, I live in Alabama) and well.. I didn’t know this when I told them to play it, but one of the brothers came out as gay in 2021. I figured this out the next day, in the car, on the way home, I remembered another one of my cousnins comments was “More like Brothers Gay-Borne”. I decided not to look it up that night and tried to shake it off, but the next day I had to know what that meant, so that was when I figured out that one of them was gay. My cousin (let’s call her A) A was an adult there and the mother of the one who made the comment, when I suggested this song, E, the one with the speaker said “We don’t listen to them anymore”, I didn’t know this information when I said this song, but A said “play it”, in a kind of like ‘it’s whatever’ tone. Honestly I kind of got off topic but that’s what I do. I just try to pretend like I am one of them. I pretend like I don’t have a leftist country playlist and a rap playlist that I will never willingly let them hear or see. When I’m at thanksgiving I just eat and watch the tv, I zone out, and laugh when appropriate. But I also could go outside, or in a room, to think or because I want to, or to try to not cry and make myself even more aware of how unsafe I feel in that area, surrounded by them all. I feel u safe right now, and every time I write a comment like this, or when I watch this channel or others like it. All my parents have to do it walk across the two-foot hallway, push open my door (I finally got it back) and snatch my phone out of my hand, to see the real me, I do what I can to hide it but it gets hard, it is hard, and the fact that I just do, act, look, and talk masc doesn’t make me feel any safer, (I’m AFAB btw, but I don’t fully feel that, but u don’t fully feel like a man, or non-binary, idk I don’t care which pronouns are used for me, everyone uses she and it feels right, but I think I’d be fine with he ir they too) Anyways I’m sorry for making this SO long and going on an unnecessary rant but anyways. When I am with them I try to just ignore it all, and pretend to be one of them, I am quiet there but they’ll definitely hear me talk and smile and laugh, most of that is out of necessity though, but they wouldn’t think it, so I pretend not to know it.

What’s making me question taking T is hair problems, weight distribution, and the smell. Like yes, I’d like a deeper voice and bottom growth, but those are kind of the only pros for me. The cons are the major head hair loss in my family, and the major body hair growth, my weight being redistributed when I‘ e just begun to accept it, and smelling different. Because now I can get along with a lot of animals but I’ve read a lot of studies that show that a lot of animals react differently to the smell produced by higher testosterone levels and I don’t want to lose my connection with animals. Another worry is losing my singing voice.

6:33 okqy but seeing this person actually means so much to me. It is so hard to find representation as a fat transmasc person. The only other social media app I have, Pinterest, has so little plus size trans rep. You search plus size fashion and it's all very mainstream fashion on women who are the "good" type of fat. They have curves only in the "right" places, a flat stomach, a waist that's still relatively small, etc. And they're always dressed super fem, too. And while I do like dressing fem sometimes, It's not all I want to wear. I'd say sorry for rambling, but I'm trying to apologize less and this helps the algorithm, so you know what? I'm going to say you're welcome for listening to me (/hj, I don't actually think that highly of myself but pretending I do is better than thinking I suck)
11:44 What's always been interesting to me, is that I was a super feminine kid. Of course I never fit in with the girls, but I was always told I was one and thus didn't think I could be anything else. But recently I started experimenting online, and thinking. And that's when I realized transmasc fit me. I still sometimes feel like I'm invalid because I was and still am pretty feminine. But if cis guys can be feminine and still be guys, so can we! I mainly think as a kid I had no clue there were other ways to be a guy. Most of the boys I were around (aside from my dearest friend) were obnoxious and super masculine. And I'm sure part of it was masking, too. Am I the only trans guy here who feels like this? Bc I've never seen anyone else talk about this.

    • @phoebegee54
      @phoebegee54 Год назад +5

I'm a trans guy and I've mostly considered myself pretty feminine. Like, to the point where I wish I was actually a girl, almost. Sometimes. It's funny. I'm not the most feminine guy ever but I've always really admired women and loved women's clothes and sometimes coped with dysphoria by trying to feel honoured by being mistaken for a woman. It sucks that it just doesn't fit me.

So, my class had an art critique after a project we did, we all presented our projects and moved around putting sticky notes with critique on them [ex: oh this was done really well, but this could also be improved maybe if it's blended a little more?] I like to make sure things are going well with mine and make sure nobody destroyed or damaged mine- which in the process I ended up overhearing a couple of my classmates talking smack [I knew these classmates and never generally had a good opinion of them beforehand because they were always talking smack about other classmates when they passed by them-] and I could hear them giggling and talking smack about it, saying stuff like "guysss I gotta try to be nice" and some other little things- I'm pretty sure they didn't know that I made it but either way- it's still messed up to act like that

    Ranting to boost the algorithm:
Being genderfluid is awesome but I can feel extremely strange when I have dysphoria from being masc. I am generally a pretty masc person and most of my dysphoria comes from more “feminine” aspects of myself. So, experiencing dysphoria from my mascness, on the occasion that it happens, is simply strange to deal with especially when it’s closely following moments when I felt gender euphoric about it. Like, I’ll be staring at myself and I think “oh my god I look like such a handsome boy :)” and then a while later it’s “oh my god I look like a boy :(“ Adding into this, most dysphoria adds onto my constant imposter syndrome with my gender. When I’m feeling masculine, I feel like I’m faking being genderfluid and I’m just transmasc in denial but when I’m feeling femme then I worry I’ve been faking all of it for attention. Anyways bye!

My private catholic schools dress code is getting bad. Starting Monday there’s a fine for any skirt or short 2 inches above the knee. And on Monday they’re CHECKING TOO which creeps me out so badly as someone who wears a skirt. And not to mention some teachers are getting threatened if they don’t dress code us. I honestly don’t see the problem as long as no one’s ass is showing or anything. It’s not bothering anybody EXCEPT the staff. I feel really bad for the freshman and transfer students because it was so nice last year. You could accessorize the uniform a lost which gave lots of queer kids leeway to stylize the uniform. Plus if our phones are anywhere EXCEPT our locker (even if it’s not being used and completely shut down just in our bags) our PARENTS have to come pick it up, which doesn’t work for kids who’s parents work far, who can’t drive to the school, or kids who need their phones for transportation purposes. Our new vice principal is really cracking down and WE CANT EVEN HAVE OUR BAGS AT LUNCH WHICH SUCKS. Me and my friend have our 5th period on the first floor, which means we have to go up to the third and fourth floor for our 6th after lunch, drop our bags off, then go back down to the first floor to lunch. And we have the last lunch of the day too which makes us sm worse BEcasue there’s typically nothing left by the time we’d get down there. Just to finish lunch and go BACK UPSTAIRS. Nothing makes sense and honestly if I started petitions for these I could get most if not all the school to sign it

Okay people so I'm going over an old Word WIP with a story idea and a class list for yet another elemental-superpower-school. I wanted to include people that are not all cishet and white, the main five characters are almost all queer (4 out of 5), the girlfriend of the protagonist who is a lesbian is a black trans girl because they are underrepresented as fuck and when trans people get rep it's always about coming out or it has to be "revealed" in a super unrealistic and/or weird way that they are not cishet. There's also 4 other queer people in the class that are not super close with the protagonist. To come to the point, one of the characters who is more of a side character but still a friend to the protag is native american, and I wanted to make sure that her name is okay. It's Amadahy Fensby. Tbh I often avoid writing minorities that are not white and also some that are white as protagonists because I know that I'll never experience what they have, I'll never experience discrimination based on my skin color or heritage, because I'm white as fuck lol. I'm scared to misrepresent them, and also taking away from people that are of that minority and can write protagonists that are very similar to them of course better than me. So yeah, that's it :)

I was just texted by a content creator whom I know is an adult. They complimented me, asked for my date of birth, my age, my number, and a picture of me. Is that normal? I'm really stressed right now 😢 I don't want to make false assumptions. I don't plan on showing them a picture of me, but I do have their number on whatsapp. Please help me 😢 The creator knows I'm a minor, I don't know if I should say the content creators name or not Edit: I deleted their contact Information.

I blocked them. Now I'm conflicted, their content is really great and I do like watching their content, but I don't know what to do about that. Should I unfollow them?

does anyone here know how to see if you're Indigenous but not native american? I'm pretty sure I'm Sami but most DNA tests only show Native American heritage on the results :p

Maybe try listening to stories and ask questions about your heritage to your grandparents/older family members? I’m not to sure how much this’ll help but here anyway:>

It really don't matter trace your heritage back far enough you're "indigenous" to some place.
It also doesn't matter because those barbaric tribes got eliminated for a reason: they don't provide for the benefit of humanity by sticking to mythos and superstition rather than science and reason.

Okay how do i explain to people that i am just a little guy and not a wife
    Like im just a gentleman
    Im not a girl
I just like to do all the traditionally feminine things because im a gentleman.
I paint because im fucking van gogh not because im such a well mannered lady
I like drinking out of pretty tea cups and having tea time because im a male socialite from the late 1800s (without all the bad stuff)
Im not embroidering because im your grandmother, im embroidering because im a gay cottage core twink in the french country side.
I'm not your wife, I'm the hot man-written-by-a-woman librarian from your damn fanfiction.
    Anyways,

11:48 I don’t relate to a lot of the things this person mentioned, despite being in the category. For most of my life, I just thought I was a girl because I was told I was a girl. That was as far as I thought about it until a couple years after high school.

Quick question because i remember seeing a tiktok in one of these videos upon bonnets and i cannot find it again but can non-black people wear it? For example, im POC but with curly hair that dries out during my sleep or gets matted that i need a bonnet to use but im not sure if it's cultural appropriation?

But also with the autism thing, I'm so pissed off that dudes can get diagnosed as young as 4 but women need fuckin lists and lists of criteria before they even consider it.
I told my friend with autism about his privileges and he instantly went off at me lmaooo (yeah we ain't friends anymore)
