So I have a physically disabled friend, she was born without her left arm after her elbow, and she was joking about how she can’t get married because she doesn’t have a ring to put a finger on. I, joining the joke as another disabled person, said ‘well it’s not like you can get married without losing your ndis (Australian funding scheme for disabled folks) coverage lol’. And she just. Didn’t know?
Like she has lived on this earth for 16 years, in a body that was visibly, obviously disabled. And she didn’t know that disabled people still lose their funding by getting married.
Anyway, fuck that ableist system.

Hey yall little life update that i'm kinda proud of: today in my history class we covered the war on drugs and how it disproportionately harms Black and Latine people and some kid in my class was being really racist and bringing up the 13/50 argument so i told him the 50 accounts for the percent of people arrested that are Black and has nothing to do with actual crime and that he should maybe read an article or two instead of being blindly racist and he cried😄

Closed practices are practices that only certain people in certain groups can practice. This is almost always due to systemic oppression (example, only native people using white sage)
Witch is just the term for people who practice witchcraft. You don’t need to be born as anything or identity as anything to practice witchcraft
“Indigo Children” are kinda in the same realm as “changelings”, ie another word for nd kids. These kids have “old souls”, which are normally caused by trauma or a condition like asd. This term is often used to refuse children the healthcare they need

Creative Writing Prompt 179: this is an… awkward upload time for me. I’ve got a friend’s wedding today and tomorrow, so I can post, but we’ll see what I can do moving forward.
Anyway, short and sweet. Take characters and put them in a room where they don’t belong. The poor in a banquet hall, under a chandelier. The rich, in a public dormitory. An amateur in a professional, a master in a novice workspace.
I love having incredibly long vocal stims because I can just recite extensive quotes at length. I can quote the entirety of the “to the pain” scene from princess bride or the Icelandic section of stick and stones. I memorize most songs I listen to because that’s how I enjoy it. I am a choir kid. I can recognize patterns in music and hum along even when I’ve never heard it. Similarly with movies or books, I understand tropes deeply so I can predict what happens (sometimes it can ruin movies for me though because I don’t get surprised). I read a lot of books as a kid so I l ow a bunch of big words like “nefarious”, “benevolent”, “melancholic”, and half the time I don’t know what they mean. I know how to use them in a sentence but then I say them and realize I don’t actually know the definition. It’s helpful when I or my friends want to sound smart on an assignment because I can say is fancily. I hope you enjoyed my rant

ive never really seen fictionkinning/kinning in general described as a way to cope with bpd before, so i thought id tell yall my experience here!!!
with bpd symptoms it can be really really hard to express how i feel to others because i feel different All The Damn Time. Its so hard to be consistent because i am ever changing. Kinning makes it SO much easier. Instead of trying to form my own sense of self which i know won't last for more than a week i can literally just. Kin a new guy. It's like i have little presets to describe how i feel and act to other people. Its even better if my friends know the source material im kinning from because they might be able to expect how ill act and feel (but i do diverge a lot from the canon typically)

@@renoia3067 I just wanna note that rope isn’t inherently sexual. A lot of people use it as a bonding experience since it takes a lot of trust. As long as someone isn’t actually being nsfw in public, I really don’t mind. Similar with pup hoods not being inherently sexual.

I like my home, it is where I know I’m safe, it is where I trust people. I don’t like places outside of my house, they feel unsafe and dangerous. I’m not sure why. People don’t like people like me, I don’t know why, I’m not sure what we did. People outside of my house are always mean to each other and hate people they don’t know, they don’t care what you’re going through, they just want you to fit their perfect mold no matter what. They always seem to have bad intentions, they always say hi to me in the halls, how do they know my name? They scare me. People don’t seem to feel what I feel, they don’t see how bright the lights are, they aren’t affected by how loud things are, they aren’t affected by how things smell, or feel like. I don’t feel human, they make me not feel human, they make me feel like there are parts of me missing that I’ll only get if I push my feelings aside and lock them in a case. Why do they want to take away the things that make me feel slightly human? Why do they want to take away the things that make me feel safe and like I matter? I just want to live and enjoy the little games in my head without being bothered. I don’t like being abnormal, I want to be normal. Why am I like this?

I got officially diagnosed with adhd and I just find it such a relief to finally know for sure that I'm not making this all up.
Hopefully this can also be a chance for my parents to actually learn to let me unmask and not punish me for my stims and other adhd related stuff and maybe for my dad to maybe at least acknowledge his own adhd, which has caused quite a few fights in the family, because nobody knew how to deal with it.

My mom has been pretty sure for a while now that she's neurodivergent, which makes enough sense considering both her kids are, and goddamn that Egyptian one really hit the nail on the head.
Like, the only thing that was off was that she didn't get into Percy Jackson, but... I mean... that's probably more of a timeframe/generational thing than anything. But a "Percy Jackson kid" can also mean not just fans of that series, it's a VIBE, so... hell, maybe even that was accurate. Like, I wasn't a "Warrior Cats" kid, but I "fit in" with them in a lot of ways. xD
went to the park today and there was a person giving out free balloon animals! and yeah I'm a lot older than the target audience but there is no way I was gonna pass up the opportunity to get a free sword that's also a balloon.
my newfound best friend struggles with self harm and panic attacks in them moment and i don’t really know what to do. So far i’ve asked them what helps if i’m with them in these situations, and i’ve been trying to check on them more often asking them how they feel and sometimes playing the piano for them cause i know it makes them happy. Does anyone experience similar things and knows what to do? thanks
getting positive stimuli can help with panic attacks and bring down anxiety. nice smells, soft and plush fabrics like blankets or stuffed animals. there are stuffed animals that are actually stuffed with things that smell like lavender, which is a really calming scent psychologically. stay away from things like caffeine or other stimulants
sometimes it can help relieve self harm urges to draw or write on the skin with a marker (not a pen or pencil as the person can press too hard and do harm anyways)

@@renoia3067 thank you so much! They actually wrote emails to two different school councilors, but none of them answered yet (it’s been like 3 weeks). They’re parents think it’s dumb to get help so that’s a bit difficult. But my parents are very supportive of both of us :). I actually bought them a blåhaj for christmas, so that’s good! The last times they felt the urge to sh, they managed to call me and today we talked for 4 hours and laughed a lot :D They later on also told me that the happiness was genuine and not faked and i believe them.

I wish I had the same courage that a lot of people at my school do- to stand up to teachers. Unfortunately for me, my kindergarten teacher was horrendous and traumatized me (and a lot of other people in her class) so much that if a teacher gets slightly irritated at me, even though I know they like me cos im a good student if i do say so myself, i start spiraling and think they hate me, and then i want to cry.
This rant ended up being way longer than i wanted, tl;dr: i have trauma and now i can't stand up for myself against teachers even when they're very clearly in the wrong and the "older/authority figure automatically makes me right" argument is stupid at best, a form of child abuse at worst

currently in the process of acknowledging some from of dissociative disorder, the kind people on the ptsd support forum I'm part of did not know how to help at all, bu they were sweet and supportive even if they couldn't give advice. funny how with amniesa you don't even realize you have(or had an episode of it) till someone says something or something comes up in conversation and you're like "..wait what did i sign up for?? we had something planned today?" and then having to figure stuff out from there lol. I'm confused all of the time lol. its fascinating I'm even sort of funcotnal on a level that's keeping me out of the hospital. like i took a math test, i have failed all of the other tests in this class. but low and behold i get it back and its the best grade I've had for that class to date, but here's the kicker, i don't remember taking this test. i remember starting it and then i blacked out!!! got a lot going on this year i guess.
anyhow, how is everyone? I'm exited for Halloween! i love making costumes and stuff and this year ive gathered supplies to make a costume for an oc from my book!!! and also a twin charciter i have is hopefully getting their own clothes and face this year!! its fun :) also very close to only failing two classes and not three so that's cool. also planning on starting T when i turn 18!!!! very exited for that!!! and i ate today!! anyhow, let me know how you're all doing !!!
Okay, okay, this might sound rude, but can we talk about the feeling as a trans man when you see women talking about how “stupid men are” and that “they’re in their own world” Like, that sounds horrible to people like me! @@triple-AAA-battery its nice that u live in an area that is better in amarica but capitalism will sooner or later make your area worst , the prices will go higher and the wage will stay same, the thing with capitalism is it slowly takes over without you noticing and it is not benefiting you if you are fair, it only benifits you if you are selfish, but socialism and communism in short makes things equal for everyone and people only take how much they need no one would be higher than thre other, personaly if everyone was treated equally it would humaize us all. Ik the said alter is a capitalist and im not forcing them to change thier mind but id like them to think abt socalisim/communism and look into that more. 🙂
