      They are also showing how delusional they are about the USA medical system.
      If a kid claims they are trans, they aren't getting surgery just like that - whether that's because the parents and doctors are scared that the child will lose their fertility (they value an unpromised future of potential grandkids over a living child), the doctors don't want to perform the procedure (and not because of potential health risks, but because of politics/religion), it's just too expensive, or all of the above. They aren't even getting harmless hormone blockers as often as some people claim (even though cis kids more often get them without problems; hormone blockers and regular hormones are used if puberty starts too late or early, btw, which is what trans kids would use it for too).
      You know what that kid is getting?
      Told that their feelings are wrong, that there is something wrong with them mentally and sometimes even spiritually. Maybe that kid will get a therapist, but that's usually in more progressive areas and with the risk that it will be treated as something that needs fixed and not treated.
      (Thankfully, there are some therapists, parents, and doctors, who will actively treat it as an identity that you have to learn about yourself just like any cishet identity and who will help young trans kids prepare for potential, future surgeries. But thats me adding this to not loose hope in humanity.)

    • @Moonstruck_Arrow
      @Moonstruck_Arrow Год назад +8

      Exactly! Conservatives see men and women almost like different species, that’s how they justify treating women like shit and taking away their rights. Trans people have always been good for women’s rights in general because when you demonstrate fluidity between genders it becomes harder to deny that we are all cut from the same cloth (it also shows people that how they express themselves can be a choice, not something forced upon them, which is always a good thing).
      But that’s also the same reason why when you look at most things the conservatives say about trans people, it’s literally just misogyny in a hat.

I have mixed feelings about the creator who responded, but I think he in return is trying to convey how truly ridiculous it is to so confidently spread such an ignorant opinion. • @AG-vb6vv
      @AG-vb6vv Год назад

      @@riccardozanoni2531 I’m pretty sure that’s not what conservatives mean when they say ‘woke’. Rather, I think it’s meant to refer to (real or perceived) hypocrisies in leftist viewpoints. For example, leftists would happily attack and criticise Christians and Christianity for being conservative, misogynist or homophobic, but would they attack Muslims or Islam in the same way. Actually, you may have some defending Islam (a conservative religion) and even things like the hijab (at its core, it’s a rather misogynist idea to make women cover themselves so only their husbands ‘see their beauty’), or ignoring homophobic elements within the Muslim community.
      This is an example of what conservatives mean when they attack us for being ‘woke’, our hypocrites and double standards. For example, I saw a video of leftists at a university kicking a Bible on the floor while Christian student watched. I don’t like the religion, but it seemed a bit wrong, yet the comments by leftists defended the people who kicked the Bible. I have also seen leftists attacking people who burned the Quran, an equivalent act, and sayings it’s wrong. This is what I mean by a double standard sometimes within the leftist camp. As a movement, we need to reflect and eradicate such double standards, and this will neuter much of the criticisms the right has against us, helping us be stronger as more people are brought on board.

      @riccardozanoni2531 Год назад +3

      @@AG-vb6vv The leftist camp🤣🤣 what are we, boy scouts?
      Jokes aside, i've genuinely never heard anyone use the term woke for those instances, neither have i ever seen anyone quote those instances, considering they're mostly (if they even happened at all, that is) singular people within the left... maybe some antitheist group? That said, it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic, or with the origin, meaning, or common use of the term woke. I'm also pretty sure those events were made up (call them strawmen if you wish), but i'll trust in your bona fide...
      Usually, when american conservatives use the word woke, it is against those people who fight for equal rights within a minority, or try to expose any kind of unequal treatment in our society and explain how it came to be and why it should be solved. Some people use it for anything "left-wing", just as a sort of derogatory version of "leftist". Those examples you cited are quite specific, and not related. Why, if i may ask, do you think these in particular are important to the discussion? (since you brought them up i'm wondering if it was just a misinterpretation of the use of the term woke or if you wanted to talk about these and just couldn't find a good way to introduce them into the discussion.)
      If you'd like to discuss antitheism i'm all for it, and just so you know, the vast majority of leftists and also atheists don't consider antitheism a valid position, at least in its more extreme versions, which seems like what you've depicted here.

      i’ve also never really liked english, for a whole year i was so overwhelmed i was unable to complete any of the assessments properly and i was constantly crying. it didn’t help that both my teacher and class were horrible, it was always to loud in the lessons, specifically the planning lessons before the assessments, for me to concentrate. especially considering this was the 2020/2021 school year and i realised that i actually had sensory issues because i stopped being able to block it out as much due to stress. luckily i passed my english exams in the end so i never have to do it again.

You guys would love it and id have loved to have you guys theres because no one in the class talks. Also we watched the music video for "The Man" by Taylor swift while studying gender roles and stereotypes etc. Also, I have multiple queer teachers! My school is super diverse so im very happy to be there each day. Also my birthday on the 30th! I had a heart shaped strawberry cake with white icing and little white accents and cherries! Sorry for rambling i just wanted to share some of my joy from the past couple of days. Also i switched my last class from this weird capitalist business class to film! My film teacher is very funny. He called us all scrubs because the boys kept deleting the google document we were writing on. And then asked us if we knew what scrubs are and then when no one answered he played "No Scrubs" by TLC and made us take notes. And yesterday he gave us a lecture on why we have labor day where he mostly talked shit about capitalists. And he also has a photo of jojo siwa on his desk that says "stay sweet" but he covered up and put sharpie over the letters so it says "stay queer". Interesting! I like my school a lot.

    TW: f s!ur
    My friend bri just casually uses the f s!ur and the word as like an insult it kinda hurts cause she knows that I’m gay and she even apologizes every time she uses it around me but I kinda wish she would just stop all together
    Also on Thursday she went up to my friend Anna and asked if she liked me even though I told her not too multiple times (I don’t even have a crush on Anna anymore) and now I stressing out if Anna hates me like I don’t need the stress man I just want to enjoy my weekend:/
    But I did hang out with bri yesterday which was fun totally forget I was mad at her I don’t know if it’s healthy to go in between hating all my friends to loving them (kinda)
    Also she went around telling people I like Anna which is upsetting cause I don’t want random people knowing I’m gay
    Anyways I thought I’d just put these here since everyone in this community is just gay and I love it

      in short: yeah its kinda unhealthy to go between hating and loving your friends (of course its okay to fight and be mad at each other every once in a while but good friendships shouldnt make that super common)
      if you want to drop her, id suggest not doing it suddenly and sorta just hanging out with her less/phasing the friendship out. thats to avoid the chance of her maybe getting mad and spreading more rumors about you (this is just my assumption of what might happen, again i dont know her or what yalls friendship is like)

    Creative Writing Prompt 169: 1nice. Whelp, I'm out of time. I spent all day working in my little raised bed, harvesting the most pitiful haul of sweet potatoes of my life. This has not been my year in that garden. I got fewer than 10 tomatoes all summer, my peas died out almost immediately, my basil just doesn't want to grow and the day I sow some sunflower seeds and eggplants directly into the bank where the water likes to drain a muhuther fuhucking tornado comes through and dumps 50 gallons of water on them over 30 minutes. Hopefully my fall beans, carrots, and beets will be happier.
    Write a story about a bad harvest. An old family has depended on that chestnut tree for generations and it suddenly stops producing. A swarm of invasive insects wipes out an organic crop. The magic has dried up in a fantasy world and the abundance of crops you relied upon begin to shrivel. Climate change has begun to wreak its havoc upon the growing season. The dust bowl's first storm devastates a field of wheat sprouts.
    There can be drama or humor or anger or despair in a pitiable haul. Be creative and see what you can come up with.

      @shelbypowell9919 Год назад +4

      Eg: The mealfruit trees were designed to grow in irradiated ground, designed to draw nutrition from anything, to resist the cold and the light, to hold out when the water generator acts up and there isn't enough moisture to keep other plants alive. Its wood is sturdy and light for construction, its bark is stringy to make clothes, its leaves compost quickly and its roots hold fast in dust or mud or soil. They were supposed to save us, so what is left for us when they fail? Where can we go when we can't go back? What is left for us when there is nothing but light and darkness?
      Once upon a time, what we once called the United States faced a period of stagnation. The Land had been filled up, not by people, but by what they used to call property. It was an idea. They believed that you could take land and say it belonged to you. Then you told the government and they shot anyone who argued with you. All the available land was filled up with property. They spread it into the swamps and the plains and the foothills and up into the mountains and beyond. They poured their property down into the earth and scattered it into the lakes and the rivers, sowed it right under the feet of people and animals and under the roots of the plants. When the property was all taken up they looked at the people they hated and told the government: “we hate them, shoot them so we may put our property there” and because the government hated those people too it did.
      They began to look west, out into the great flat plains of grasses and their minds filled with fantasies of property that spread all the way to the sea. Some people thought that if only they could afford some property they could live and be happy. Some thought that if they could just get that property they could control the people they hated. The government thought that if it gave them the land they would be done when they had filled it all up. When they did they were not.
      They needed food and they needed water. They needed shelter. They tore up the grasses and the feet and feet of roots, the thin and dry soil scattered. The dug wells to get at the water to make it fertile. They tore it all up to plant wheat and corn. They fought what the land wanted to be for so long that the fighting became normal to them, and forty years later when the grass was all gone and there was nothing left to hold down the soil, the land sent winds to take up the dust and drive away the people. The dust choked them and blinded them, it filled their houses and buried their property in meters for every foot of land they tore up. Most of them starved, many of them died.
      The land fought them for leagues and leagues. You can see it, the place where the dust storms thrashed against the hollow bands of their property. You can see it, right in the middle of that splash of green and brown in the middle of the pale blue dot on the horizon. They were promised that when their work was done there would be peace. They were not fools to believe it because they could not have known it was a lie. But we know it was a lie. And I think we may have believed it. What fools are we.

I just hate having to work 5 out of 7 days in the week because either way I may not be exhausted but I’m still so tired. 9:40 Don't know about you, but if I was in charge of a five year old and they told me they wanna be Barney....I'd indulge them? Like weak argument cuz I would treat that five year old like Barney. I'd call them Barney, watch Barney with them all the time, and let them wear a Barney costume every day if they like. It could be a phase. It could not be a phase. Harms no one and makes one person incredibly happy. Hell, if that five year old had to go to school and they had a problem with the child dressing and acting like Barney, I'd fight on their behalf. And like, what if it isn't a phase? Who cares. Furries literally exist. I may not purchase it, but it they want a fully animatronic Barney costume to fully live out there Barney dreams, just make sure the tail isn't knocking things over, you know?
    Like this argument is so weak. Let kids be happy even if their interests are strange to you.
