Saying neopronouns don’t exist is the funniest ducking thing because all of our pronouns were neopronouns at some point. It’s just anti-culture-creation.
Anyway I can think of a NEOpronoun that’s older than canada: Thon/Thon’s, shorthand for that-one or this-one, invented in the 1870’s to refer to someone who’s gender or sex is either not obvious in their expression, otherwise unknown or nonbinary, or simply someone who identifies with it.
He/she likes mint chocolate icecream. That one/this one likes mint chocolate icecream, thon likes mint chocolate icecream.
That car is his/hers.

Language is defined not by its scholars and those that demand it remain static and unchanging, but by its users/speakers and those who change it to fit their will - whatever that may be. Yes, i am calling Anglish* and other such languages made for "purifying" existing languaged inherently hitlerite, to "purify" a language and culture is to glorify one aspect, often one that is dominant and repressive of others while actively eliminating the traces of those left behind.
Of course there are exceptions, such as languages who use the words of english and other languages spoken in the imperial core whose attempts of removal to incorporate neologisms should be considered anti-imperialism, but my point still stands.

People always ask me why I advocate for neurodivergent kids a lot. What they don’t realise is that I would sooner die than have them go through what I went through. I will throw away my privilege of being relatively compliant to defend a 12 year old with a pathological demand avoidance autism profile. I will rant and I will scream and I will put myself in the line so they don’t die.
It took a kid dying for our states education minister to finally step down. I refuse to let it get to that point again. Disabled kids- especially the unlikeable, grumpy, disrespectful audhd pda kids- they have my soul. They have my entire life. I will drop everything for them.
I will argue when they’re suspended again for talking back to a teacher. I will explain again and again and a million times over their brain chemistry, why behaviour is not a choice. I will listen to them ramble about their interests, I will make sure they always have escape plans, I will view them as humans not problems because nobody ever told me my brain was perfect.
Everyone’s talking about careers and uni. I don’t think I have a choice. I have to fix stuff for these kids, and if it means tearing down the entire education system, I will.

She started the video w/ a wig to be extra dramatic, then after she has taken out the braids she shows she has a rat in her hair and rather than grab a de-tangling comb or something, she jabs it a couple times then grabs scissors and cuts it off. Then she comes back and is like "I've wanted to have short hair for a while" and spends the rest of the video making duck lips at the camera, it felt very orchestrated.

Agreed. At the end of the day leftists recognize the exploitations and hatreds around them and want to combat it by creating anew. Liberals try their best to recognize these things, missing them and the point often, but want to combat them by piecemeal reformation, naive in their trust in their systems, cultures, and institutions.
You can create anew, tossing aside the foundations of the toxicity around you or you can attempt to reconcile your comfort in these foundations with your wish to rid them of the toxicity inherent to them.

Oh my god I LOVE the Lego Batman Movie, I haven’t watched it in ages! I might just watch it again today. I do that loop thing with wings mostly, like whenever one of my favourites comes on I stim furiously and then listen to it for like an hour, and it’s so fun! Being autistic can be challenging but I think the joy we get from moments like these makes up for it, at least in my opinion

That’s what happened to my friend - straight girls made this conspiracy about her dating this dude, came close to ruining the friendship, so I walk up and threaten these straight girls. Now there’s rumours that I’m jealous and like my friend. But it’s on my own terms. And I know they’re weird straight people. And I know my own sexuality. So I feel better making jokes. Make them fucking uncomfortable.
Depends on the kind of bully and their motivations. You could ship them with ridiculous characters / objects / concepts or theatrically confess your love to them (if you’re sure they aren’t actually into you) and annoy them for a while. On the other hand, you could ask your friends to call them out for being obsessed with you (but make sure you don’t accidentally out them or something).
But yeah, generally you either ignore them or put a spin on their tactics. They flip you off, you go “ow, you’re showing me the size of your brain? It’s okay, buddy”
I say be straightforward. "That makes me uncomfortable, and you need to stop. Your behavior is inappropriate and disrespectful, and it makes me feel unsafe." Make sure there are authority figures around when you do it, like a teacher or a parent or something. Just be super candid, bro. Use your own words if you want to, as well. I'd say something like, "Dude, you're being really gross and making me feel weird and I need you to stop right now or you and I are gonna have a serious problem."

If people start saying yeet- they assign it a meaning, contexts to use it in, etc.- then yeet is a word. People use it. It means something. Therefore, its a word. If people use ze/hir, xe/xem, cat/cats, or any other neopronouns, if people give them a meaning, then they're words. You cannot decide what a word and what isn't. That's up to the people who use them

Creative Writing Prompt 172: I’ve been talking about nature, bugs, and conservation plenty the last couple of weeks, so we’ll do this one today and then try and go back to other stuff a while.
Lately I’ve been reading Rewilding by Paul Jepson and Cain Blythe, about the rewilding movement that focuses on rebuilding biodiversity and reintroducing species to help restore environments. It’s got some ideas that I’m not super enthused about, but I agree in principle. We’ll see if the book can convince me. The big boon from reading it is developing the idea that effective conservation really can’t happen without divesting from capital, imperialism, and settler-colonialism.
Look at a map. Pick a region, as big as you feel comfortable with, and write about the project of pulling out human agriculture and resource extraction and returning the region to nature. It may be intentional because of environmentalism or accidental because of disaster. Consider how the wild will retake the land and what will come to live there. How it will survive, what it will be without us. Consider how humans will come to interact with it as we watch the project progress. If you’re indigenous, how do you think the tribes will go about managing the land?
“Weekend” homework: read something, an article or an essay or a book, about the relationship between humans and nature and how we’re going to have to change it as the planet warms.

I knew I was a boy around five but wasn't aware that meant I was trans, though I did know people expected me to be a girl. I hate how you can never forget about that and you have to be constantly conscious of it. Stressful.
That's my biggest fear for my child. Because if my baby, at five, tells me they're not what they were assigned at birth, I'm 100% going to believe them and let them live however they feel most comfortable. But I'm terrified that my entire extended family, both of their sets of grandparents, will totally freak out and act like I'm FORCING that on them. I would never force my baby to be who they're not. It's not my decision, and it's not their decision, how God made them and how God decided they'd be most comfortable. And it's nobody else's business, frankly. Not even grandma and grandpa's. I just really don't want anyone to have to contend with that.

I started school this week and I’ve been trying to switch my friend group for a long time cause their all cishet girls who I became friends with while I was still in the church and in the closet. I can barely relate to them anymore and they don’t see me as genderfluid. I put myself out there and started hanging out with some people from theater and they’re awesome. I feel so much safer with them and like I don’t have to constantly explain myself. It also feels amazing to support each other through the homophobia at our school. A big car of jock guys barked at us and a bunch of kids kept jokingly hitting on us at a football game but we were there for each other. We couldn’t do much about the car people but we defended each other and had to keep reminding the kids that they’re children and what they were doing was weird. Anyway I’m doing pretty good besides that stuff
Theatre kids are always the best lmao. The breakdown is like 20% queer, 20% neurodivergent, 60% both, and 100% cool as fuck.
How was your guys day? I decorated for fall with my Dad but we had to keep it simple this year cause we are getting a new bay window so we didn't want a lot to take down when it is replaced later this month. My aunts neighbor's car exploded while my aunt and uncle were gone so they hope their house didn't get any damage. (from flying car debris and smoke). Also do any of your guy's school have a closed floor? Like as in the school doesn't use it any more? mines Does, the third floor is split in two because my school had boys on one side and girls on the other. But they stopped using the one side a few years ago now that the school has been co ed and the school has less teachers. I get scared of having an entire portion of the school closed because my school has had a electrical fire.

Nah, you’re not being whiny. I go through the same stuff! Until about a month ago, my phone was completely nuked (no screentime for anything but necessities, can’t text/call people who my parents don’t approve. They only unnuked it because of an emergency that required me to call someone who I wasn’t allowed to.). You’re allowed to vent here, the comments are open to this. And you’re right, the situation does sound unfair. I don’t exactly know what else you’re going through, but hopefully your parents will see that by restricting your phone, it’s not doing you any good. I genuinely dislike screen restrictions, it seems like parents either don’t use them or straight-up abuse them.

an interesting way this has manifested in history is the one-drop rule and the american abolitionist movement.
the one-drop rule was a rule which aimed to keep as many people enslaved as possible by making it so that anyone born to an enslaved parent was a slave from birth, regardless of percentage of black ancestry.
because enslaved africans were so often r-ped by their white enslavers, this resulted in half-black, half-white babies who were born enslaved. because of this cycle, this resulted in people who were 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 (etc.) black who were born into slavery but were entirely white-passing.
abolitionists used images of these white-passing slaves to show white americans that people being forcibly held in these harrowing conditions weren't all that different to them.
(don't give the white people too much credit for this though, from what i researched the main reason this tactic was so effective in making people support the abolitionist cause was because it made white people scared that they could be accidentally taken into slavery if they were accused of actually having some small percentage of african ancestry.)

So everyone is talking about the childhood signs of being trans but I can’t remember my childhood. I feel like I don’t deserve to be trans or anything. I didn’t have lots of guy friends or anything (I didn’t have lots of boys in my class anyways) and had both girl and boy toys. I like he/him and my chosen name but I just don’t feel manly enough for just standing there and being quiet. I want to roughhouse with the boys but I always just get treated like a girl. I feel like I don’t even *deserve* to be trans. Sorry for ranting and stuff.

Even in non-queer spaces, neopronouns have been used! We went through the process together and I was kept informed about what the process/meaning of the guardianship would entail. Without the guardianship, I would be financially fucked. Are there serious flaws and potential for abuse? Absolutely. But, with the involvement of the disabled community, it can be shaped into a more supportive and respectful system without the whole thing being scrapped.

17:48 What she is saying is flat out wrong. My neice's grandfather had a slave when he was a child. He grew up in a small town somewhere in the south and in the 70's he and his family had a slave. Slavery in America existed even after desegregation. But we aren't taught that in school.
I remember seeing a story a few months ago on a young black actress who was awarded some sort of recognition of her skills and at the ceremony she was attended by her grandfather who had grown up watching his father enslaved. It’s far from ancient history.
I watched Across the Spiderverse today. I don't think I would've liked it in theaters, but it was fine at home. I kinda liked it but probably wouldn't have watched it if Spiderpunk wasn't in it, and he barely was there.
To be fair to the movie, I have watched _a lot_ of Superhero shows and movies since my dad is into superheroes. So far, I have liked one movie and loved another movie. In all my years of superheroes, I got two movies I actually enjoy. It's not that Across the Spiderverse wasn't good, if you haven't seen it don't let my opinion sway you. It's alright enough that I'm interested in watching the third movie whenever that happens. Needed more Spiderpunk.
