@davidmaggiacomo409 The storming happened because the illusion the dragons cannot be killed was broken, giving the small folk the confidence they needed to sack the dragon pit to begin with.
I hope it shows the looks on the faces of all the small folk as the head passes by. In the book, it's meant to be a Triumph of sorts - like Caesar parading Vercingetorix through Rome. Instead of throwing up applause however, the citizens of King's Landing are disquieted. To us, seeing such a sight would be like watching the first nuke go off on the news in some foreign country. Alicent eventually has to bar the exits to the city on account of so many people trying to leave in the days after.

Episode 4 was an emotional rollercoaster. While I enjoyed the battle scene, I was deeply saddened by the deaths of these two major characters, Rhaenys and Meleys. What a blow for Team Black.

Notice how Rhaenys tied herself to her Dragon before the fight with leather belt. She new that if her Dragon dies, she will die with her. It was symbolic, but when she orders her Dragon to attack (even though she saw Vhagar and should have flee), she literally wanted to die that very day, in combat and with her dragon. There will be more deaths like this, as this time Martin's books are already written. It is gonna be GoT's Red Wedding almost every episode now, but worse as they will keep killing Dragons... 😥

Her union with Lord Corlys and her savvy political instincts would have allowed her to continue the peace and prosperity enjoyed under Jaehaerys and Viserys. Her commitment to duty and ultimately sacrifice demonstrate her calibre. She would have been an amazing queen.

You are right, the storming of the Dragon Pit is coming: In George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, the storming of the Dragonpit happens while Rhaenyra is reigning in King's Landing. The common people rise up in a deadly riot, which a religious prophet known as the Shepherd spurs on, telling the fearful public that the only way to be saved from a fiery death when Aegon's army arrives at the city is to kill the dragons kept in the Dragonpit.
The four dragons kept chained inside - Shrykos, Morghul, Tyraxes, and Dreamfyre - are all attacked and butchered by the rioters. Dreamfyre flies into the ceiling of the Dragonpit during the chaos, which brings half of it down and kills everyone inside, including Dreamfyre herself.
As the carnage is unfolding, Rhaenyra's son Joffrey Velaryon, whose dragon is Tyraxes, secretly takes his mother's dragon Syrax and rides the creature over the city, heading for the Dragonpit. Sadly, though, Syrax doesn't want to accept a different rider and shakes Joffrey off. He falls to his death from Syrax's back.

Aemond definitely tried to Kill Aegon 😲😲😲, but wow... what a Dragon battle... truly the "Dance of the Dragons".
I liked this change of detail. If im not mistaken cause i haven't read the books, what happened originally is that they went on a 2 vs 1 battle, not like what happened in the episode where Rhaenys went for Vhagar after she's done with Aegon, and that it was Meleys's fires that burned him, not Vhagar. Although the past episodes did build up to Aemond eventually getting tired of his brother.
I think the best depiction of a dance of dragons in the civil war is between Seasmoke and Tesasarion

This version of the battle sound more like the propaganda of the Greens, where the battle was being lost until the brave hero king changes the tide of battle. Just like in this preview, where they're claiming that Aegon was the one to kill the dragon.

Im a casual watcher and dont know much about who is whose dragon so i wanted to ask this thing about which dragon was it that daemon saw in the cave in season 1?

Also that scene of aegon and rhaenys bonding with there dragons was so cute but so heart breaking fiven what was about to happen. Aegons face lit up when sunfrye came over and pushed him with his nose and seeing rhaenys tell meleys there of to battle again, just amazing.
In the books aegon and sunfyer have one of the strongest bonds between rider and dragon sunfyer does a lot for aegon after rooks rest its not going to be the last we see of him
Also it's mirroring each other because at the end the only loyal things were their dragons. Aegon had no one who loved him and Rhaenys was betrayed by Corlys which figured out because of how they look similar.
I wonder what if Vhagar and Aemond share the same intimacy.
@@jackgould5332 The mid to Later parts of the Dance is so dizzying. I know what happens too, but I'd prefer something with Aemond over Rhaenyra. At east show wise, considering Syrax and Rhaenyra werent the ones that burnt Aegon.

That will come into it later. She's old, slow and seems to tire easily. I imagine by the start of the God's Eye, she's exhausted and Caraxes is able to take advantage.

Meylys and Rhaenys were connected to souls proved in final battle scenes when they glanced at one another multiple times w/o saying a word. They were communicating emotionally such a great treat to watch.

The emotions were so strong, when the Meleys looked at the Rhaenys and they both knew it was over, I cried ... so sad
The worst thing about this battle for me was the fact that Aegon just wanted to prove himself to the people who forced him to wear the crown and then treated him like a loser. He was scared and Sunfyre was helpless, he saw Vhagar and you could see how relieved he felt thanking the Gods. And the Aemond burned him alive. That was the saddest part of the whole episode for me. The betrayal.
As sad as it is for Sunfyre remember Aegon is a rapist... don't think we should feel bad for him

Meh not really. It was their enemy and also a publicity move. That dragon killed hundreds of smallfolk so then showing the smallfolk that your side is the one that killed it and delivered justice for them could go a long way in getting the people back on your side

Aegon is such a misunderstood character. Misunderstood even by himself. The way he mourned his son, the little nudge/hug sunfyre gave him amongst other scenes show you that deep down he is a gentle soul just looking to please those around him and mark a place for himself
I don't really understand all the hate towards him. I mean I know people take this series really serious, but he really hasnt done anything other then be an idiot. Its weird how people only have empathy for the dragons( and rhaenys), but literally children being murdered is no problem. I'm team green just because it's funny the reactions i get going against the grain. 😂
@@Idunno-gl1wz except the show tells you exactly why aegon is a terrible ruler and a horrible person plenty of times. he's not misunderstood, you're empathizing with his character because tom glynn carney didn't want to play joffrey baratheon 2.0 and went for a more subtle portrayal. he's an interesting villain stuck in a cycle of trauma and neglect, but a villain nonetheless (and a rapist btw, which is not very harmless and funny of him!)

Everyone’s acting so surprised that Aemond tried to kill Aegon when presented with the opportunity, as if the last ep’s brothel scene, not to mention a lifetime of bullying by Aegon, never happened.
Aemond also literally told Vhagar to wait when he saw Sunfyre flew into battle. Aemond waited for his brother to get wounded by Rhaenys first before flying in to fight. Aemond was definitely hoping for his brother to be killed in battle.

They probably flew their dragons around each other when they were younger so vhagar would have def recognized sunfyre. He couldn't have her attack aegon and his dragon alone it would be obvious.

Lord of the tides will never be topped
There was enough complaining on social media about all the episodes with no battles. I, for one, am glad they took their time building up to this moment. It made the Battle of Rook's Nest that much more impactful.

Episode 4 truly cemented Aemond as a villain in my eyes. He can pretend what he did to Lucerys was an accident all he wants but this was premeditated. He knew what would happen to his brother yet attacked anyways. I really feel for Aegon getting betrayed by your own brother after being belittled by your mother. I can't imagine. RIP Princess Rhaneys and Meleys died like a true dragonrider. Laena would be proud.
Tbf Aegon didnt need to come. He literally has to do nothing to win the war. I kinda understand Aemond anger towards him even tho burning him was a bit too much
@@BTHUNDER666 That's the thing though. He wouldn't have came had they bothered to include him in the first place. Sure he's a puppet but it wouldn't have killed them to inform him of their plans. Now their King is crippled and their second remaining dragon is incapacitated. I'll give them props for their damage control by giving him the credit.
Aegon wasn't supposed to be there. If he had done nothing because he interfered, all their troops would've died. His resentment towards his brother for belittling and mocking him just made that choice easier. There are no villains is this story, or rather all of them are.

The Greens stole the crown from Rhaenrya against Viserys wishes. Had they respected those wishes none of this would've happened.

Episode 4 is the best episode of the whole series. The scene where Meleys turned to look at Rhaenys one last time before dying made me cry so much.

Watching this preview, seeing the Greens drag Meleys’s severed head into the Red Keep as a war trophy, along with bringing Aegon back, is pulled EXACTLY like the pages in Fire&Blood!
But the battle wasn't accurate, meleys died alongside sunfyre, because vhagar fell upon them from the Sky.

People saying how sad this is, haven't seen anything yet. As someone who read the books. I won't spoil it. But this whole war is just sad. Game of thrones had its sad moments. But the sadness won't even compare to the sadness of this war :(

Heart pounding, ears were heating up, breath was stuck. This was a thriller like no other. But that was probably because of how much I love dear old Rhaenys and Meleys. Died like queens, both of them, fought till the very end even when they could've run away. I guess that just ain't their style.
@sanketshelke8667 rhaenys one of the best characters in this universe. The way her and meleys looked at eachother at the end was gut wrenching. Im glad the writers have captured how tragic and brutal the dance of dragons really is.

The battle of the dragons was the highlight, and oh my god, Vhaegar always gives me the chills. I wish someone would put Aemond in his place though, he was definitely trying to kill Aegon, and it was just too much. Poor Rhaenys and Meleys, I thought Luke's death was the worse, but this one was just more emotional, the other one was more shocking.

The funny thing is, once he get's back on his feet and uses his dragon again he jumps from 20 feet high during a fight and breaks his hips and afterwards he refuses milk of the poppy because he wants a clear head and murders the Maester that tried to give it to him because of paranoia of getting poisoned.

Second, Aemond knew when he gave the order of Dracarys that Meleys, being the fastest dragon in the world, would easily get away from the fire blast whereas Sunfyre, who was gravely wounded, would not. Plus, he shouldn't even have to tell Vhagar to attack with fire when Aegon (his king) was so close to the line of fire.
Third, Aemond has always wanted Aegon's place. He made it clear in episode 9 last season and this episode just proved it.
So don't tell me Aemond isn't a villain. Luke's death might've been an accident but this surely wasn't.

He wants to be involved, to do things, to be a King and not a puppet. So instead of making him feel small and stupid and telling him to do nothing, make him believe that he's being useful. Manipulate him in a tactful way to make him think his ideas are being used and he's the one orchestrating the plans. Larys Strong does exactly that; he knows how to manipulate Aegon.
