@@Kevynmorgan u r joking. She can't capture anything with a small dragon let alone an entire city. Hee ancestors ruled the kingdoms with dragons, what can she possibly teach them? Nothing. U r just being fanboy
Stark fans can hate her all they want but, we still love her. And we miss her. I love you Khaleesi, I couldn't watch the last episode when I heard what happened to her. She is forever my favorite character in every gadammed series ❤️❤️
I hated how they ended her story and actually the Targaryen family story. And to add insult to misery they choose the two most boring Starks to rule Westeros. Bran as the King of the 6 kingdom and Sansa as the FIRST Queen of the North Kingdom. From all the female character I hate her the most. To me she is the flattest female character from the two shoes. If it wasn't for her and her devotion to Jeoffrey, Ned may have been alive as well as the other Stark. To me the two most level headed men in GOT and maybe the ones capable of maybe stop the descend of Dany into the so called madness( for me the Kings landing burning was more of a lashing out her contained grief) were Ned and Jorah. Ned after all was uncomfortable with the killing of Ellia Martell and Raegal children. He was also uncomfortable when Robert wanted to kill Dany in season 1. I have read somewhere that the Targaryen Madness was hidden in her, however I don't think so. She was sold to Drago at what 14-15 years old as a wife and yet after his death she managed for a time to keep his Khalessar and rule them when tradition dictated that she goes to the other widows. She managed to survive the desert, hatch dragons, gain the loyalty of the biggest trained army in Essos, conquer a city and rule it for a time after all she left Mereen by her own choice, managed to gain the loyalty to if not all at least most of the Dothraki to a point that they crossed the sea for her. No I believe that she was not mad or even having a hidden madness. After all when she managed all that her dragons were either vulnerable( as they were hatchling or growing) or chained under the pyramid ( Viserion and Raegal) or flying around ( Drogon). I think that her fate was sealed the moment when she left Essoss as for the first time she entered the political part of the game and I think that Tyrion wasn't the best choice for a hand for her. Dany was under the impression that she would come to Westeross with her 3 Dragons and she would be the second Aegon the Conqueror and she would just sit on the throne without opposition. Well when Aegon managed that feat the 7 kingdoms were separated and that is why I believe he managed to become the first king. Now many are in political alliances which made them a fearsome opponents and most importantly the South knew how to defend itself against Dragons as shown in the immensely quick and absurd death of Raegal. She just wasn't prepared for any of this. Not even touching the White walkers here.Dany just believed that the throne was her right because she was a Targaryan. Even my least favorite Stark ( Sansa) was willing to work with her and the girl only wanted the North to become its own Kingdom which isn't much of a wish with how much the Stark had suffered from the political game. The burning of the city for me was just the unfortunate outlet of her jumbled emotions( Viserion and Raegal death, Jorah death, Misandai death, the knowledge that she wasn't the only one with right to the throne and Visaris possible scheming to instal Jon to the throne. A man who had told her that he wasn't interested in ruling and had willingly bend the knee). Dany would never have been happier to sit on the Iron Throne and she would have wanted more and she did. After all Tyrion persuaded Jon to kill her not because she burned the city, but because he was scared of what could follow. Dany had some respect for him maybe not as strong as Jorah and the moment he abandon her instead of try to reason with her she found herself alone. Who could have stopped her? Grey Worm he was also hurting and wanting revenge, the Dothraki? They were a race that enjoyed war and she was their khaleesi and Dany had proven her exactly that. The Starks? They distrusted her. Jon? He didn't have a problem to play the horizontal tango with her before knowing that he was Rhaerar son but the moment he knew she was his aunt he rejected her. Come on Rhaenira didn't have a problem to marry Damon in order to secure her claim to the throne and she knew that they were related. Jon, Jon didn't...
@@gsdlife09 1. i do agree that bran was not the best choice for king at the moment, we all know jon should have been king and he was even the rightful heir. he would have made a great king, and if you don’t think so i have no idea what to tell you. but if jon is out of the question then i think we all know bran, although he is a cripple and cannot fight in wars is the best option. the guy LITERALLY knows everything for gods sake. if not him then tell me, who could have possibly made a better king other than jon and bran among the choices we had? samwell tarly? robin arryn? edmure tully? some might say tyrion or ser davos but compared to bran absolutely not. the dude is literally the three eyed raven. 2. there is absolutely no reason why people would hate sansa, after all she went through she made it out and developed leadership and great judgment, she was totally fit to rule over a small kingdom in westeros. i also would never blame her for ned’s death, she was a child, a literal child at the time who basically wanted to marry a handsome prince and live in a big castle. how could she possibly know what would happen? plus she contributed nearly nothing to ned’s death so i have no idea what you’re talking about. how on earth did her devotion to joffrey cause the killing of her family?? 3. there is absolutely no way you think jorah of all people is levelheaded. all ser jorah was was a simp for daenerys, who brought dishonor to his house and embarrassed his father, lord commander mormont (one of my favorite characters). i found him very useless in the show. 4. “The burning of the city for me was just the unfortunate outlet of her jumbled emotions( Viserion and Raegal death, Jorah death, Misandai death”. now this, this is what made me lough out loud… if you say that the reason why dany unnecessarily burned millions of innocent people alive is because of the loss of her loved one then you are basically saying that she was not strong enough to be queen. a STRONG ruler can face many political setbacks and lose some loved ones in the process while experiencing some betrayals and still remain honorable and strong because at the end of the day as rulers they know of the challenges and political hardships they will face and accept it, and dany in particular made sure very well everyone knows that she accepts the challenge way back in season 1 (spoiler alert: she lied). second of all jorah died with honor in a battle which dany strongly encouraged everyone to participate in so i don’t see why that would cause her to fall into madness. compared to other characters in the show dany didn’t go through much, take sansa for example. sansa lost her father, brother, mother and little brother in the worst ways imaginable, was held captive in a castle for years where she was subject to daily abuse and mental and physical torment, was manipulated by cersei and littlefinger and had to watch her family get butchered and insulted in the process and then had to be married to ramsay where she went through all of that again. she still survived and grew and became a skilled politician with great moral values and didn’t let her hardships make her fall into madness, your crybaby daenerys however, can’t say the same about her 😂. a lot of people went through absolute hell in the show and NONE of them would have done what she did. let’s just admit that daenerys was never fit to rule, she had great ideas sure especially in the first few seasons she was great because back in those days everything was going good for her, it was only when she was losing a few more people she started going mad which perfectly emphasizes the emotional and sensitive side of her which means she was never truly fit to rule when the challenge really begins, especially when you have the power of a dragon in your hands it makes it really easy to cause mass destruction to satisfy your childish anger. i don’t think anybody should have a dragon in the show, anybody having that much overwhelming power is dangerous, even if you are innocent the power of a dragon will not fail to make you proud and bloodthirsty.
6:04 Notice he focused on Drogon but it took a few seconds to realise what his eyes are witnessing. His childhood dream was to see a dragon and Drogon is the first dragon you see, flying over Valyria... What a gift
It’s a throwaway line in the very first episode of season 1, but in the books it’s talked about more often that he’s a voracious reader and he’s absolutely fascinated by dragons and always dreamed of seeing one. Peter Dinklage did a great job acting like he saw something both remarkable and at the same time something he’d always wished could see and did so without going over the top with it. It was just a very subdued look of astonishment.
Wait, those are not the ruins of Old Valyria, are they? I think that's the place where Old Valyrian people sent 300 dragons to destroy if I am not wrong...
Drogon the Winged Shadow, some believe he is the reincarnation of Balerion the Black Dread, other believe he is the reincarnation of Khal Drogo to help Daenerys claim her throne.
All three of the dragons were literally born of Drogo and Mirri's deaths. Without them sacrificed to the fire, the three dragon eggs would never have hatched. Only a life can pay for a life, it is known.
I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Drogon was with eight years just a little child for a dragon at the end of season eight and how big he would have become at the age of vhagar or so. I’m pretty sure he would be one of the biggest dragons (maybe the one) westeros have ever seen. Just imagine it…
@Killahnator69 yeah I think they are basically juiced up by more magic than the average dragon is. Possibly due to the ritual surrounding their birth and white walkers coming back.
They had another project to do and f'ed this show, sped it up, did a quick she is evil in a couple of episodes and killed the whole point of this. Remember Serenity? They killed that jewel too. Psychopaths run the hierarchy of producers in the US I swear.
@@kingofdragons7 Without a doubt they did. Turning Viserion into an ice dragon was just stupid. First of all, all Jon had to do was get on Drogon with the rest of them and leave and the Night King never would have even had a chance to throw his spear thingy, but for some inexplicable reason Jon decided to up his wight kill count. He just started killing random wights instead of leaving. The whole thing was just a way to give the Night King a way to break the wall down. They couldn’t come up with any other way to get the army of the dead South. As far as Rhaegal goes, there really isn’t even anything to say. It was simply idiotic. I know it was just a TV show and they were just computer generated things, but it was kinda sad really. They deserved better.
I loved watching the people's expressions when they see the dragons for the first time! I feel the same way they do every single time I watched her flying Drogon! And.... when Jon touched Drogon for that first time, I had a strange gut feeling.. that he may be The Prince That was promised AND tat he was for sure a Targyeran. No others could touch dragons, right? That "Thing" he put his hand on looked So realistic!! Oh God I loved this show! I want it back!!! When Drogon blinked.. it looked so real. The computer graphics in this show were stellar!
People who aren't Targs can touch dragons. Like Tyrion unchained them, Daemon let's his girlfriend touch Caraxes, it seems you have to know it's rider to touch them but they'll let you if their rider trusts you, they like the attention or/and you're helping them, etc. But only Targs can ride dragons
The scene of the first flight of Daenerys, so beautiful, it kind have a vibe "the beauty and the beast" with Drogo with blood in his mouth and Daenerys in her white dress 🥰😍
I have a love hate relationship with the beginning of this.. love how powerful and righteous dany was with what she intended to do w Westeros & the people. She had so much hope and ambition. All of that to be thrown away by shitty and lazy writing. One of the best shows and characters thrown away to the dragon pits. Pity.
Man, it was such a shame this show got cancelled after the 7th season! Never understood why; I can only assume they wanted to do GRRM’s yet-unwritten ending justice and didn’t think they could accurately finish character arcs
@@denziiey It would have been interesting to see how GOT played out if it actually went as far as George THOUGHT it should have. He said he wanted it to go on for 10 to 12 or even 13 seasons. He said there was more than enough material in his books to make that possible. However, come on George…the show first aired in 2011 and it’s now 2023 and you’re still not done with the 6th book yet. Dumb and Dumber would have had to make up even more stuff considering George wasn’t wasn’t done yet.
WhatttTF???? No they realised he was never gonna finish it and he never will, they needed a series, so they just had to make the rest of it up. Other wise we would still be waiting 40 years later.
They said Balerion was the biggest dragon...some say The Cannibal was....but Imagine Drogon when he reach Balerion's age...Drogon is Only a baby...an 8 year old giant baby....he would definitely dwarf Balerion when he reach 200 years old.
@@110srinivasansridharan4 Yea in the books Drogon interrupts the Mereen fighting pits and by that time he's big enough for Dany to ride. Drogon will prob not be larger than Balerion by the end of the story. Dany survived and her dragons were reborn from petrified eggs due to a rare 1 in a million chance. Drogon is special because he's born with the sacrifice of Khal Drogo, and in the universe a King/Leader's (anyone viewed above humans) blood makes for strong blood maigc. Which is related to how Dragons were first created so Drogon could just be Baelerion on sterioids. Thats the only scenario where Drogon can be bigger
@@sachin.animusical I think we don't even need 200 years to see Drogon dwarfing Balerion at his size. Less than a half of that will be enough. Drogon is really really big for his age.
13:09 This is my favorite scene in cinematic history. This gives me chills and literally makes me cry from how gorgeous and powerful that scene is. My 2 favorite things, dragons and horses. You can hear the thundering of the horses hooves and the war cries of the dothraki and then just seeing Drogon and Dany fly over them, and Drogons roar was something out of a dream. It's flawless and breathtaking.
Dany had the privilege of knowing her ancestors history w dragons and therefore knew it was not a good idea to chain them up. Of course she did at one point bcuz they started roasting kids lol and she was terrified but other than that she let them do them bcuz she knew they’d always come back to her. Drogon was so independent yet empathetic.
I love that way the dragons were shown to grow and mature. But there was more to the changes than can be explained by growth. What I see is a deliberate aesthetic choice made at some point to give the G.O.T. dragons a look that's a bit more demonic and a bit less reptilian. Which I view as an ingenious choice that was balanced out by other choices I'll get to below. First, in particular their heads had a lot of subtle upgrades. You can see it best in Drogon. At first he just has essentially spikes coming off his head, but by "Dragons can not be tamed" four of those spikes have been changed to, for lack of a better term, horns. And the horns lend a very different aspect to Drogon's face. His face, in particular when viewed straight on, looks decidedly more demonic. But to balance that out they all went from having beady little eyes to having larger more expressive eyes that had the range to go from fierce to almost kind and gentle. You can see the demonic appearance best in the scene where Dorgon smells Jon's hand. As Drogon lands, and first crawls toward Jon, there's a moment where he looks directly into camera. At that moment you can very clearly see the resemblance to a demon as opposed to that of a more classic dragon. Second, it looks to me as though one heck of a lot more control was added to the models at around the time Drogon saves Danny. There's a heck of a lot more control over the expressions the dragons faces are capable of portraying. The spikes along the dragons backs and the fleshy webbed sections joining them together seem to have had a finely tensioned control spine added to allow animators to make them wave about in a more natural way as the dragons moved their necks and air flowing over them made them move. Lastly the texturing of the dragons was also upgraded at points. In particular the texture used on the webbing between to spikes along the dragons backs was simply brilliant. You could almost feel the fleshy warmth of that webbing as opposed to the steely hardness of the spikes the webbing joined together. Marvelous. G.0.T.'s dragons are imo a master class in character creation. This is how it's done when it's done well. 😄By the end they were some of the best actors never seen on set!😄
Anne McCaffrey could have read many of these comments about her books. Dragons have such a place within both our imaginations and our souls, it’s honestly difficult to think that, just maybe, somewhere in our very distant past, they weren’t just creatures we dreamt about.
They had to be real,or something similar to them, because every nation speaks of, a huge serpent, wrym, giant fire salamander, so, yes I ' think they were real.
Balerion wingspan was about 456-460 feet roughly (I rounded up for the last number) capable of covering an entire town in his shadow with a estimated length from snout to tail tip of 126 feet. Neither three dragons that were in the conquest were ever really sequestered for prolongued periods in the dragon pit sure they lived their but for a majority of their life they were free to roam the world and feed on whatever took their fancy. To their owners dismay if they cared at all.
Shame didn't include any of season 8 footage. Drogon is part of the reason I still watch the final season because the cinematography for him in that season shows how much of a beast he truly is
@@ieradossantos yeah this footage of Drogon is from seasons 1-7. There is total 8 seasons of Game of Thrones 🤣 Drogon was a beast destroying a lot and it was glorious

You don't realize the significance of the first time Daenerys rides Drogon and flies until you have the historical context for it. Daenerys is the first Targaryen to fly on dragonback in over a _century._ After The Dance of The Dragons (spoiler alert for upcoming HoTD seasons), when Aegon III rules Westeros, the dragons die out, hence the nickname 'Dragonbane' given to him. Not only the population of dragons dwindled dramatically as a result of the Targaryen civil war (as did the population of Targaryens themselves, with only Aegon III, Viserys II and Jaehaera surviving the Dance), but Aegon III, having watched his mother Rhaenyra Targaryen be easten by her half-brother's dragon, was terrified of dragons. This is 131 AC. Daenerys rides Drogon in 300 AC. That's 169 years. That's history. Daenerys Targaryen mounting Drogon and taking to air for the first time in nearly seventeen decades is _monumental._ At this point, dragons are legends, and riding one is an art completely lost to men, even more of a myth than the dragons themselves. Daenerys is the true legacy of her bloodline.
When Dany first riding drogon it was the turning point of her life as she embrace her targaryan name as a Dragon rider like her ancestors did before her.

I love how Dany's ancestors all needed saddles and special words to get their dragons to obey while she just... exists and they obey lmao.

He will probably keep growing after the finale. By that time if Danny is to be resurrected, no one can stop them.
If drogon was the reincarnation of khal drogo then it would had been killed by one dagger.

They butchered Viserion and Rhaegal tho...
@@kingofdragons7 Without a doubt they did. Turning Viserion into an ice dragon was just stupid. Dany survived and her dragons were reborn from petrified eggs due to a rare 1 in a million chance. Drogon is special because he's born with the sacrifice of Khal Drogo, and in the universe a King/Leader's (anyone viewed above humans) blood makes for strong blood maigc. Drogon was so independent yet empathetic.
Just love this little family of four!
how many in November 2024? 😔
I love how when drogon makes his entrance to save Danny I just picture him “WHERES MY MOMMY”
How I love seeing the scene of Drogon arriving in the pit and seeing that they are scared of him Drogon

Daenerys is the true legacy of her bloodline.
wow
Plus she rode Drogon raw dog only multiplying the legend

Extra points for the "Can we keep him?" look that Drogon gives Dany. I absolutely adore the dragon's sound design, in both this and House of the Dragon.
2:56 "WTF Mom?! Don't tell me you're just trading me like a Pokemon card!"
Ever since GoT ended I’ve missed seeing dragons on my screen but HotD has brought them back
Tyrion should have planned a saddle for Daenerys like what he did for bran. Hope it will be in the books.
I wanted to show and not just speculate about the building ( amphitheater) just recently about Scotland ( the bones and possibly the ring dropped , this would explain how and why it went into ruins ) . There is much , much more that could be written and showen , possibly proven about that history . Maybe " Donald's grandmother " has a Scottish heritage but not even close , to what some of us can claim .
Azor-ahai, the princess that was promised, my queen 💜
I love this compilation. Well done! I, Daenerys, the mother of dragons 🐲🐉, approve this content!
Dracarys! 🔥
Loved all the dragons and it broke my heart about Viserion and Rhaegal, then Drogon losing them and his mother. I hope Drogon and Jon can mend their relationship.💔
I don't think Drogon can ever forgive Jon.
The way drogon look at Jon snow like he was saying "I will ever met you or other human, if my mother didn't get this throne then no one ever will"
Just my opinion
@@LunieToonisA. My take on it is Dragon hated how wanting Iron Throne had messed up his mother so he believed it was evil and should be destroyed. I think he was aware Jon wanted no part of it.
@@maxwell7709 I think there might be a chance.
I hope Drogon comes back and incinerates him
The moment at 7:31 is just pure emotion of a child for his mother❤
Utterly brilliant..the best series ever made..👏👏👏
Best fantasy series ever made. At least up until season 7. Easily in a class of its own. Even a few years after it finished I still miss it.
Thanks for this clip. I watched this show and watched it again by forwarding to dragon scenes
I wish I could have a Drogon❤.
Same 😢❤️🩹
Well. I’d like to think that the dinosaurs had a dragon-like dino. And when the meteor struck the aliens tried to save them. They took the eggs and one day return our dragons. You will be a fierce dragon-rider. Jodie of House Busson, first of her name, mother of dragons.
@@aroseinwinter7719 Thank You! That's a very interesting concept👍🏻! I really wish dragons were here & I would try my best to earn the trust of a "Drogon" or a "Balarien" or even a "Meleys". Its nice to just take a break & get lost in my own imagination.
@@jodiebusson6133 A pterodactyl could surely lay waste to a knight or two, but I hear they had their difficulties with fire breathing.
Who tf is cutting onions….. i mean damn allergies 🥹🥹🥹
This is just an incredible compilation - the best I've seen of Game of Thrones compilations .... Respect to the author! 💖💖💖
Love the way Drogon barbeques the fish at 1:40
No matter how many times i watch this scene, I have to stop and watch it again.
Perect emotional flow of the Daenarys's journey.
God I miss this show so much !!!
Drogon flew to Mereen to save Daenerys, Daenerys flew away to save him.
I'm from Bangladesh...And I love this series so much ❤..I watch the series all season 4 time 😊😊
I’m one of those rare people who has never watched an episode of Game of Thrones. U might call me a Unicorn!
Chew: well there are two of us in the world then.
Every time I find myself sad mourning the deaths of Rheagal and Viserion and the dragons of the dance, I remind myself that Drogon is out there, survivor of the Game of Thrones. The last dragon. The king.
a shame we will never know the end of this show, too bad it stopped before the end
