I absolutely loved hearing the voices of the actors from the Game of Thrones tv series narrating the story.
First voice at 0:19 sounds like Viserys III Targaryen actor (Harry Lloyd),
Second at 4:17 is Robert Baratheon actor (Mark Addy),
Third at 5:44 is Catelyn Stark actor (Michelle Fairley),
Fourth at 13:30 is Oberyn Martell actor (Pedro Pascal),
and finally at 17:54 is the Joffrey Lannister actor (Jack Gleeson).
Harry Lloyd and Mark Addy narrate other parts of the story in-between.

All of this because of Otto Hightower and his delusions of grandeur for his familial line.
Tragerians be like we will destroy each other but not let Hightower enter in our bloodline that passes on, and it did not indeed.
Otto is hardly the only reason this civil war broke out. Rhaenyra would have caused one regardless due to her poor political choices.

They didn't mention Viserys II here, the childnof Rhaenyra and Daemon. Viserys is the one that continues the Targaryen bloodline all the way to Daenerys Targaryen.

It wasnt the full story ive seen a longer version. Viserys II was the kid on the boat he survives and sails away then returns after the war ends. Some names would have helped here

This is the condensed version , It’s missing Cregan Starks role , he was the one that truly ended the war killed everyone who was left and installed Rhaenyra’s son on the throne, in the end Team black technically wins but it comes at a hugggggeeee cost. No one is left , a few Targaryens and couple dragons that’s it.. they rebuilt somewhat in the years to follow but never as they once were.
Not even the word pyrrhic is enough to describe that conclusion. No one won in the Dance of Dragons, everyone lost.
And as usual the Starks ended bailing the kingdom out. Kregan was the MVP in the end.

This war was what truly caused the end of the Targaryens. Sure, Aerys was the last Targaryen king to sit the throne, but if they still had their dragons, the dynasty would have lasted centuries more

Yeah and probably thousands more would die because of dragons. They are nukes. There were severall rebellions after dance of the dragons and with dragons more people would die. Also why would you want dragons anyway since all conflicts in westeros was inside. Like dragons were amazing against outsiders but there were none. Maybe iron islands wouldn't rebel if dragons were still around but thats it.

Say what you will about Aegon, but sunfyre was the bestest of boys. Most loyal dragon, and strongest bond with it's rider. He's going to puppy heaven, good dragon.

They get through SEASON 1 in 4 minutes!
That's because the TV series greatly expanded the story to show how things led up to the Dance of the Dragons. In the books, the story begins where the second half of season 1 began. They tried to squeeze more money out of a successful Intellectual Property but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it added to the lore covered in the books. George himself says that Paddy's portrayal of King Viserys turned out greater than his brief portrayal in the books. Young Rhaenyra was also a great revelation and benefited the show. It's a short story so I don't see this going more than 3 or 4 seasons, even taking expansion into account.
They need to make Rhaenyra arriving on dragonstone after fleeing king’s landing a true horror fest.Just imagine we see her hiding on the small ship dodging velaryon ships, arriving on dragonstone in rain, being led up to castle, then her slowly noticing things are wrong like the smell of decay and blood, the absence of men she had left in charge, a flash of lightning perhaps illuminating the suspiciously high half eaten body of the maester and others on the ramparts, then her guards slaughtered and her, her son, and her ladies in waiting marched in to the castle to see Aegon 2 sitting on the throne scarred, burned, and gleaming with vengeance.Then her demanding to know what happened to Baela and Aegon revealing Sunfyre, bloody and scarred lurching out of the shadows, and the lines from the book, then the slow dawning horror as she realises he doesn’t plan on keeping her as a hostage and why Sunfyre is here.Her son being torn from her screaming and crying, her panicking and begging for her sons life, Sunfyre burning her and then while still alive screaming as he feasts on her, which would be off screen but we see the flames and reflection shadow of the head chomping down and sounds of meat and bone crunched, while we see the horrified face of Aegon 3, ending with the shot of part of a leg falling down on the stone floor.

Blood and Cheese was a letdown in the show. Aemond vs Daemon better be as epic as in the book

Wow this was really good! Gave me a lot of insight and shows how much the HOFD has expended the storyline so much. Excited to see the direction the show goes in.
Daemon is a true warrior as he’s not only a dragon rider watching his dragon fight other dragons but he too made use of his sword even on air riding his fighting dragon. Aemon didn’t expect that from his uncle. He was used to just sit on Vhaegar and watch her do the fighting upon his commands
Aemond was great at sword fighting as well. The reason why he probably didn't sword fight on the dragon is because it is more or less impossible, unless you are looking to commit suicide like Daemon did.

@@El_.5794 Yeah, it's a super brave and selfless step for him, actually. He literally won them a war then and there. As much as I dislike Aemond, he and Vhagar are dangerous, at least 60% of the green force.
If were are talking about fighters in the books neither Daemon nor Aemond are considered great swordsman, just great dragon riders. Daemon for example, even with Darksister he lost to Criston Cole in a melee and was also defeated in a joust match, Aemond also don't have any duels in the whole war.

If I were to guess, I think they're switching the taking of KL with the Battle of the Gullet (where Jace dies). They mentioned something about a big action sequence that had been planned for S2 being pushed back to S3.

Mark my words: Season 2 will end with Rhaenyra taking King's Landing and killing Otto Hightower. The cliffhanger will potentially be the unrest in King's Landing or the betrayal of the Dragonseeds in Tumbleton, or both.
This is giving me chills. I was hesitant to know what happens in the book but now I'm shook.

The Daemon vs Aemond scene is one of the most badass greatest violent moments in all of the GoT books, probably one of the most badass moments ever written into a story.
It is July 21 2024 and we are only at 9:34 of the story.

Aegon II pulling a fast one and winning the war would be funny if it happens in the show.
You should merge the audio from these lores with the scenes from the house of the dragon with the best accuracy you can do.
Fun fact: Rhaena, daughter of Daemon, will marry Garmund Hightower after the war; the Velaryon and the Hightower become good friends, in fact the latter financially support the Velaryon house since they were ruined after the Dance.
Hopefully Garmund appears and has a relationship with Rhaena. It would be a very nice way to reconcile the greens and the blacks.

I read the book when it came out and am watching the show. They really haven't mentioned the other dragons and the bronze fury they show unless you just read the book you'd be easy to not know its not just his dragon or the queens. Shows great so far cus the books are written from a indirect povs
But many events in the Book are true. Also Martin already said that their are 2 universe: the show and the book.
Trust me there is just like so much more shitt going on but yea, I'm very interested to see in which way the show will turn because it had turned so far on so many characters the best change for me is Helaena i cant wait too see what they do with her in future
For anyone deciding to watch this. The broad strokes are for the most part correct, but much of this was changed in Fire and Blood which came out years later after this was created iirc around Season 4 or Season 5 of GOT. This also leaves out quite a bit from the original source material it adapted in The Princess and The Queen.

For those saying Rhaenyra/the blacks won because its her descendants that rule, in that sense yes. But she lost if you think about the real reason the entire war started in the first place. Westerosi society remains the same "a son comes before a daughter" she failed to break that. Aegon is remembered, Aegon 2nd of his name and king in the history books. Rhaenyra is never remembered as queen and is called a usurper and worse in the history books. Even by her own son who becomes king. She is hated as you could see Viserys when telling his perspective in this narration is not fond of her.
No one won the dance
Yes the whole point is nobody won, they destroyed their own power and eliminated their dragons from within
Rhaenyra in reality wasn't even fighting for that. She was fighting for HER right to be the heir, not for women to be considered equal in getting land. She throws away the concept when its in her convenience.
What a cope. A war is only defined as won when one opponent has either totally destroyed the other or the loser submits to the winner. Blacks are the clear winner in this war as the entire bloodline of the greens was deservedly wiped out. It was Daemon and Rhaenyra's sons who continued the legacy of the house. And as for the bullshit about Westerosi society, never ever did Rhaenyra want to change this custom or whatever she only wanted what was rightfully her and her son's, given to her by her father the king. But yeah, keep coping losers.

Rhaenyra became Dragon sh*t and Aegon II got poisoned a few months after. And then Aegon III caused the death of the last Dragons. There are no winners. They all lost. It's a tragedy

From what I’m hearing, Ailcent has another son, with brown hair, that was raised with her family, by Viserys. Argon has a son, Maelor, plus the bastard son by the hand maiden. The Queen had one more son, who hid in the boat.

I hope we see the Blackfyre rebellion and Aerys II reign

I find the narration combined with the mystical and haunting music at 20:00 to be so powerful. It captures the feeling of an apocalyptic cautionary tale so perfectly, I can't quite describe it.
I thought exactly the same. That sad music, two scared children assuming themselves as kings and the dragon corpses that represent not only the beasts themselves but the two sides that killed each other, is a perfect ending. An ending worthy of a Greek or Shakespearean tragedy. I hope for an ending like this in the show

The timeline is a bit off - the dragonseeds actually fought besides Jacaerys in the Battle of the Gullet, whereas the video states that Rhaenyra started looking for them after that event ended.

Unreliable narrator. The book is written from a third person perspective by three different people, one of which hated Rhaenyra. So, of course it’s salacious and bloody.
