The symbolism of each “Jade” replacing the last representing how fickle the pop world is and how quickly people move on to the next big thing.. yet through it all, Jade can’t help but still love the industry despite how cruel it is. The symbolism of each “Jade” losing their control and autonomy when signing the “deal with the devil” and the pain in their eyes… this is the perfect visual metaphor for being catapulted in to X Factor levels of fame. Bravo, Jade!

Your totally right It absolutely is the best debut track in pop for many years …. I’m 45 years old so I can go back along way with pop and this track is absolutely top level !!!
the ending genuinely made me tear up. so beautifully crafted. i love how this sounds like a love song at first, but it’s actually about her struggles with fame and the industry
@@silvsilvsilv very hilarious, but no, i’m talking about the symbolism of her becoming a beaten up, fallen angel which is at the end of the video. also, her voice in the last chorus really touched me
I love all Little Mix girlies always, but Jade's debut feels most authentic and most like her. The video is iconic, extra, fun, quirky, the looks, the storytelling, the visuals, the cinematography, the different vibes between the nostalgic chorus and the hyperpop/y2k/2010's elements in the verses. Jade is definitely a master at her craft and knows her audience well. She'll always bring the most to the table.
Leigh-Anne's sound is also very authentic with a strong point of view. It's really interesting to see both their sounds as they together contributed to a lot of LM's biggest hits. They are both great song writers individually and together.
I love how each Jade represents a different type of celebrity we tend to obsess over: the diva we all love and hate for being unapologetically herself, the girl next door type we follow because she exudes innocence, she has the talent and we want her to succeed because music is her life, and the alternative girl who is bold and does what no one else does. We see girls like that come and go so often and we forget them all so easily after we have taken so much from them.
This is legitimately one of the strongest debut singles I have ever witnessed. This song is extremely unique with favorable vocals, lyrics, and production and the video is very original and tells a story of fame we rarely see from anyone in the spotlight. JADE, we welcome you into all of our hearts and can not wait to support you every single step of the way through your amazing career, just like we have with Little Mix. You have grown so much and are gifting us all with your presence and talent! 😇🤍
Love your comment! And love the video. But saying it’s a story seen rarely from anyone in the spotlight is a bit of a stretch. There is literally a whole archetype of pop diva or movie star girlie that is tortured by her management or record label or movie studio and pushes herself to the edge through self harm. Aka Marilyn Monroe. Amy Winehouse. Anna Nicole Smith, Judy Garland..the list goes on…. but this is a really good video.
@@diegobellavia Agree. This video is also reminded me of Britney 'Every Time' - the pressures of fame and the darkness around it. Jade said she was inspired by Lucky as well.
@@diegobellaviathose stories have mainly been posthumously told and recounted by others. Even Brit isn’t within her complete “right mind” even though we still have what we’ve been able to piece together from her and the court docs. So. Pls lol
This debut single just confirms what I always thought. Although I have always loved Little Mix, I knew Jade would KILL IT as a solo artist. Like it or not, being in a group is very limiting - and even then, it was clear how eccentric she was. THIS is how you debut. She's such a pop music student, I'm glad she's finally able to do whatever she wants to with what she's learned.
That's me when I saw them perform power at capital summer ball. She just seems to understand what she can pull of well. I always saw her as the star but she didn't over power anyone which is great for the group.
I'm american, I had no idea who Jade was before this song, now for the past 3 days i've gone down a rabbithole and ended up watching little mix whole x factor journey and all of their music videos and solo songs, where have i been for the past 10 years?? I cant believe i missed out on such an epic girl band.
They were the world biggest girl group for a decade. They couldn't break the US market though sadly, but fortunately the rest of the world enjoyed them!
They were cheated out of American success. Recommend Leigh Anne her bandmate and bestie. She currently has the most solo songs, two singles and an EP with 6 songs. Amazing

This is her time. Her depth of songwriting/musicality is elevated by her years of experience in the industry. She wasn’t ready to be a solo artist then, but she’s ready now.
not even being dramatic this is one of the best music debuts of all time. the song was already such a great first single but the music video is literally perfect
@FedericoCastro-wm8clJesy's wasn't the worst. The fans made it bad but the song itself is catchy and samples one of her biggest musical inspirations. She has always said she likes RnB and hip-hop. Leigh-Anne and Jade stayed true to themselves as well. I would say Perrie's was the worst because the first step in making a song authentic is to write it. If not that, then either the vocals should be at the CD/WH level or the performance should be at the Madonna level. Neither of those were true for Forget About Us and this continues with Tears. Even her Whitney cover was not up to the mark.
I've never seen another mv that explains so beautifully the ungratefulness of the music industry. It takes courage to do this especially with a debut song... Jade's songwriting, vocals, song making and acting are truly flawless. Thank you so much Jade, for creating such an experimental, different but at the same time song that we won't get bored of listening to!
Finally old school drop-pop; no boundaries in creativity, an addictive bass-beat, sweet melodies and an artist that showcases but also wants to take you with them. Loved the references and the symbolisms. Finally something more than just background music in a clothes store.
wow one of the best music debuts of all time. the flashbacks between her now and little jade in the video have me in tears. the entire concept, the storyline, the visuals. JADE is here omg
@@claudiabcarvalhoi love Taylor, but I must say : she used to do that… the last really good MV imo is Look what you made me do… where she was hitting at events in a genius way. The worst example of a TS music video is Bejewelled, whose whole purpose was to announce that speak now was the next thing to come out… she went back to a proper music video when she released Fortnight, but I miss the videos where she used to tell a real story, like Blank Space!
@@Inessss_ Nope, almost most of all of those videos tell a story. It's just that some are more explicit, while others are metaphorical. Cardigan is about falling from grace and having only your own music to rely on. Bejeweled was a Cinderella story to explain why Taylor wanted to rerecord her songs so much (the castle is her music empire, a parallel with "my pennies made your crown" from Karma, while the prince himself symbolizes all the guys she left behind - a reference to Midnight Rain -, because her career will always come first for her). Willow is also very literal. And don't forget All Too Well and I Can See You. The Man also has a story. The thing is that knowing her lore is a gift and a curse, because you end up missing the metaphors because you're focusing on the hype. I've been a mixer since Wings, and I recognized every easter egg and references Jade put into this. And it's not only Simon and Syco. She's referencing one of the ex-Spice Girls who called the girls too provocative when the Diva Jade attacked Red Jade. She's shading the media when the journalist ate her gum, because those tabloids only cared about trash instead of talking about things that actually matter. I know she was shading the people who told LM they had to flirt with American execs so they would play their songs on the radio when Red Jade flirts with the Psycho so he would give her a chance. And I can still see the story she's trying to tell, and how all of those Jades ended up being part of her over the years, but she still wants to be that first Jade who was just trying to make music. Everything has layers, if you look close enough.
3:14 the “it’s so bittersweet part” sang in the sweetest softest second voice and conjointly showing the video of Jade in XFACTOR. you can hear and see how innocent that part was. so touching. that part is just... pure
hi i am a 14 boy from hong kong, I'd appreciate it if you'd listen to some of the tracks I've done. Been a little mix fan (jade bias) and grew up with black magic thank u so much
Pop culture, society, stars rise and fall , Loved and then hated, drugs, pill poppers, music exec's, marrying that music exec because u feel like they did so much for u they must love u (then it turns into a controlling, toxic, abusive relationship that ends in the tabloids) .... Man this was amazing to watch . So many hidden messages or maybe not so hidden .... Anyway , good shit jade 🔥💪🏿
At first I was like there is so much to focus on in the video, but it absolutely made sense, because it depicts how rushed the fame was. Immediately after the X Factor, the girls were instantly pushed to drive the wheel of success (which is also depicted at the start). What a genius. Vocals, visuals, the play on the young Jade videos, made to be like she was singing her debut song?? This was everything! Jade, you're a queen!
@lenidarkbloom this!!! She absolutely nailed this. Can't wait for the music video analysis videos to be up, so people can actually see how raw this is. It's deeper than we think, and I'm glad Jade debuted with such a huge topic in the industry. Icon!!
What I love about this track is that it sounds nothing like ANYTHING on the radio right now. She is breaking new ground with all her influences from the past. It is a complex song, which is why some say it sounds like many different songs in one. People aren't used to this kind of pop music!
that's my favorite genre of pop music, but sadly this is so rare. I would love that artists dare more to release musics like that, i'm so glad Jade did it!
Thiiiiissss👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I think the reason why I love it so much is because of the heavy 2000’s/90’s influences in the song. It’s so “pop princess” idk how to explain it but it’s ADDICTING
Ikr! This was the best debut out of the 4 girlies! hi i am a 14 boy from hong kong, I'd appreciate it if you'd listen to some of the tracks I've done. Been a little mix fan (jade bias) and grew up with black magic thank u so much

What a dark horse Jade is. By far the most unique and daring single from a little mix member. And shes fully committed to the song, the video and concept. Bravo Jade. Whats that saying? Oh yeah... "she ate that" .
@@Krisx_music yes, she was always the one who most talked about when they performed because she’s so expressive with high energy and her personality is the most attachable if that makes sense. Dark horse would be Leigh Anne she is doing more than people expected and is smashing it for real.
I feel like this music videos hits different when you remember jade went through the most growth in the group! She went from a shy girl to a confident woman She was probably pressured to change a lot
This isn't just a song. It's a literal masterpiece. Showing the dark side of the industry, but still serving us angelic vocals and looking fierce. JADE, WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU🫶🏽
The video is freaking brilliant. So there's about three different versions of Jade, each with their own unique story. First, you've got the aspiring singer Jade with curly brown hair and white highlights, just hustling to make it big. Then, bam, the alreadyfamous Jade shows up with her white-blonde hair and major attitude. Things get wild when their manager sees the potential in the aspiring Jade and decides to sign her, ditching the famous Jade. Talk about drama, haha! The already famous (now former famous) Jade is super pissed and confronts the manager. Meanwhile, the aspiring Jade overhears their argument and starts seeing the music industry as way more cutthroat than she thought. She's trying to keep it together, but you can tell she's shook. Then comes red-haired Jade, who's flirting with the manager to get her shot at fame. The current Jade is feeling all kinds of emotions watching this go down. The former famous Jade, now totally desperate, lashes out at red-haired Jade for all the manager and angels (artists) to see. The current Jade starts to understand the former famous Jade’s bitterness and sees the harsh reality she once idolized. In the end, we find out that all this craziness was just in Jade's head and never really happened. At least that what I thought. What do you think?
I am not surprised Jade has my favorite solo track yet. She is a star and not afraid to take risks, I really hope people dont sleep on her from now on.
The STORY, the MUSICALITY, the ACTING, the PRODUCTION, the EDITS!! I'm swooning over this video. I love the way she expresses the way the pop industry chases after the next big thing, then the next, and cycle after cycle, depicting the toxicity it creates, but also how HARD they work to the bone. I love the way she expresses that even when nobody's looking at her, she'll still sing. I love how she expresses that sad, bittersweet feeling of being a super famous pop star, and then just blending into the crowds like nobody recognises you. This was so personal, and I love what Jade has to say, and I hope she continues to keep creating ART and expressing herself through her music 😭
The fetus Jade flashes + song + the whole concept got me so emotional. You can see our girl poured her soul into this video and music... We love you so much, Jade!
I didn't expect tearing up because of the MV, but how can I not seeing the sweet, innocent, younger Jade juxtaposed with the Jade who is affected by the music industry for far too long? This is simply a masterpiece. I have always admired Jade for her daringness, and she did not disappoint
I just admire how this really is her entire career summed up into one mv and song. Like she decided „I‘m not going easy on you“ and these over two years were worth the wait so much.

Jade managed to inject every single aspect of her voice and personality into this song and video, and doubled down on everything she accomplished with the girls. The use of the sped up/slowed down trends in a single song is genius. The beat kicks in and you almost forget about the intro until the bridge brings you back, mirroring how your roots/family/friends bring you back from the crazy world of fame. I can't believe this song, artist and video didn't receive any nomination to the #MTVEMA 2024
I'm american, I had no idea who Jade was before this song, now for the past 3 days i've gone down a rabbithole and ended up watching little mix whole x factor journey and all of their music videos and solo songs, where have i been for the past 10 years?? I cant believe i missed out on such an epic girl band.
welcome
They were the world biggest girl group for a decade. They couldn't break the US market though sadly, but fortunately the rest of the world enjoyed them!
They were cheated out of American success. Recommend Leigh Anne her bandmate and bestie. She currently has the most solo songs, two singles and an EP with 6 songs. Amazing
Thank your company and limit a litte mix because they are not highly valued in the United States. How was Fith H

the production, the vocals, the looks, the choreo, the chaos ?!?!? IT’S JADE SUMMER NOW
Almost 2 months since Jade released this song and I'm still obsessed with it, I literally listen to it at least 1 or 2 times a day. I LOVE HER ❤❤❤❤

This is her time. Her depth of songwriting/musicality is elevated by her years of experience in the industry. She wasn’t ready to be a solo artist then, but she’s ready now.
UP!!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The old clips of her younger self gives me chills. I hope JADE is proud of herself! She is that girl and made THE ULTIMATE DEBUT SINGLE!
I feel like those clips are gonna hit even harder when she's further into her solo career
She should be proud this is a belter... My Bluetooth speaker keeps running out I play this so much haha
If that gives you chills, you really need to consult a therapist. Freak.

@@Mokoshikyou’re a cringe girl from an unknown father
@FedericoCastro-wm8clJesy's wasn't the worst. The fans made it bad but the song itself is catchy and samples one of her biggest musical inspirations. She has always said she likes RnB and hip-hop. Leigh-Anne and Jade stayed true to themselves as well. I would say Perrie's was the worst because the first step in making a song authentic is to write it. If not that, then either the vocals should be at the CD/WH level or the performance should be at the Madonna level. Neither of those were true for Forget About Us and this continues with Tears. Even her Whitney cover was not up to the mark.
@@voxtur__7the drama surrounded by the song ruined it, the song wasn’t bad at all I actually liked it
This is more than you could ever ask from a pop artist. Truly don't deserve her. Humour, vocals, sass, choreo. 10/10
💯💯 JADE is the moment
..I can’t wait for the album!
The video is sad actually
She absolutely SERVED
I've never seen another mv that explains so beautifully the ungratefulness of the music industry. It takes courage to do this especially with a debut song... Jade's songwriting, vocals, song making and acting are truly flawless. Thank you so much Jade, for creating such an experimental, different but at the same time song that we won't get bored of listening to!
True, this is special, also Raye Hard out here good one
@@Jackbsauk yes, i agree with you

It’s official. They’re all solo artists now and I’m proud of them 🥲
Finally old school drop-pop; no boundaries in creativity, an addictive bass-beat, sweet melodies and an artist that showcases but also wants to take you with them. Loved the references and the symbolisms. Finally something more than just background music in a clothes store.

are music videos telling stories finally back???? i’m so excited. MTV needs to start playing music videos like this again, this is amazing!!!!
Taylor Swift has been doing that for years.
look at Sabrina Carpenter’s music videos. btw this song ate!!
@@claudiabcarvalho her music videos are her forcibly shoving in as many “easter eggs” as she can 😭 it’s not storytelling, it’s a sudoku
3:14 the “it’s so bittersweet part” sang in the sweetest softest second voice and conjointly showing the video of Jade in XFACTOR. you can hear and see how innocent that part was. so touching. that part is just... pure
I keep rewinding that part. Love it!
hi i am a 14 boy from hong kong, I'd appreciate it if you'd listen to some of the tracks I've done. Been a little mix fan (jade bias) and grew up with black magic thank u so much
All the feels in this part 😢
Couldn’t agree more. I thought the same thing. It is completely unique 😊
that's my favorite genre of pop music, but sadly this is so rare.
Let’s go 10 million! Then 50million! This deserves more streams!

She definitely wasn’t the dark horse, she is a fan favorite and fans had high hope for her

Brilliant! I think you summarized the general concept very well
OMG this explained so much!!
That's exactly what I thought!!
I was struggling to get this so this really helped! Thanks
i think the last part jade, is jade herself. like she sees that, what the hustling jade is gonna be if she signed for the big man
I am not surprised Jade has my favorite solo track yet. She is a star and not afraid to take risks, I really hope people dont sleep on her from now on.
You cant deny that she ate with this one
I saw something related to blood pact too, very tense
The fetus Jade flashes + song + the whole concept got me so emotional. You can see our girl poured her soul into this video and music... We love you so much, Jade!
I didn't expect tearing up because of the MV, but how can I not seeing the sweet, innocent, younger Jade juxtaposed with the Jade who is affected by the music industry for far too long? This is simply a masterpiece. I have always admired Jade for her daringness, and she did not disappoint

SO worth the wait, incredibly well done Jade and team 💕
