- First I want to apologize there is no build up and I didn't get to film the races for the bearings. Second, I wanted to touch back on greasing the bearings. !!!DO NOT PACK THESE BEARINGS!!! they are lubricated via the rear end juice which fills the Hub. Finally races(if needed) can just be tapped in with a hammer using something round but with a square edge as a striking surface. Hope this helps some of you out, good luck, be safe and as always...Keep on wrenchin.
Thanks for your video. I'm thinking the rear diff is very low on oil, and badly in need of service. When you pull the axle, ring and bearing, oil (about an ounce or so) should run out of the axle onto the ground. The reason the bearings are so dry, is because the rear diff oil is very low. So if the rear diff doesn't fail from a bad service history, the bearings and races get destroyed from a lack of oil, which you showed us very nicely. Thanks!
Those outer bearings don’t get grease. They use the axel oil as lube. Nice video.
AWESOME VIDEO!!! Thank you for doing this!!
Clean work buddy👍🏼
Did you ever make a part 2 of this video? As far as this video it was very helpful and good footage.
remove the tires??? really???? im glad you let us know that
Badass thank you
Did you have to break open the differential cover and remove c clips? I have a 2011 6.7 350 single wheel and was wondering if I need to as well.
I was just thinking how the metal flakes can get to the rear end. I would be checking and cleaning the magnet in the rear end. I don't think the bearing would have lasted another 20 k miles.
What year was this truck? Lol not all are the same
Whats the inner seal part number?
How do I know the size of my axle?
Are the bolts that hold the rotor to the hub an E torx specifically an E 18 ?
Where did u order the replacement bearings and seals?
