    My little Brother had the studs shear off the right rear of his F-450 Box Van/Plumbing truck. Your video helped me repair it in 2 hours. Thanks so much!!!

    Easiest way I found is to run a chain through the wheels if they are open wheels and over a air jack that is backed against the hub face. Press the button and pop goes the wheel off the hub. Super easy takes about 3 minutes each wheel.

      Not a problem. Just make sure you have the right tools to lift it up. Those heavy trucks are always a little sketchy when lifting them up.

    Dewalt 18 volt impact. It's strong as a bear for breaking lug nuts. Barring that, a cheap torque multiplier off of eBay.

    My 97 Silverado dually hub seal keeps leaking. I've replaced it several times. I'm wondering if I'm putting seal in backwards. Any advise?

    • @Simpsons.R.S
      @Simpsons.R.S  10 месяцев назад

      id definitely make sure that they are in the correct direction but the rear ends should have a vent. if they clog up, they will build pressure and blow out seals.

    How about this problem, went to do the rear brakes on the 1980 f350 dually a friend gave me. That thing had sat for years before he got it and he did nothing in the short time he owned it. I sheared every stud trying to get the tires off. 16 studs and 16 nuts cost me over $100. Insane.

    How do you add fluid to your hubs after seal replacement?

    • @smoberdeen
      @smoberdeen 4 года назад +5

      Jack one side of the axle 5 "- 6" and wait for approximately 10 minutes for the differential fluid to run down the axle tube the the bearings. Then, jack up the opposite side 5' - 6" for approximately 10 minutes and let the differential fluid run down the axle tube to the bearings. Now lower the vehicle level and remove the filler plug on the differential and check servicing. I like this process the best so I'm not contaminating my synthetic differential lubricant with wheel bearing grease.

      There's a trough in there you can fill with diff fluid, from the bottle

      haha sorry didnt want to sound like a jerk on the comment.. its been a while since i did that job. its tight for sure but those bolts arent that long... i bought a breaker bar from harbor freight.. 1/2" drive. makes life sooo much easier. theres a lot of weight back there so just be careful and make sure you have jack stands..... but ya the bolts for me came right out. i didnt have to do anything fancy.
