Just ordered it from ebay! Owned this tablet 3 times!!! I sold it as soon as a new tablet came out. It's 2017 and I still can't find a tablet in the same form factor that lives up to the hype. Plus I'm a bit nostalgic and I miss having one lol

In my family we all have ipads, after my little cousin came she became obsessed with my ipad!! Snce she has no electronics i bought her a nexus 7 fir her birthday after viewing great reviews and she LOVES IT!!! Thank you Nexus 7 for a great and affordable tablet!!! Although the iPad is so much better the price is in no comparison!

Another great review JOSH. Very proffesional. Hitting all the important points. I like how you use electronic music in the background. I like to point out that you really have mastered the pace and tone in narration. The guys that review products in PHANDROID and ANDROID CENTRAL are very unprofessional, and worst of all they have way too many coffee cups before they shoot their videos.

The Audio out of this tablet is incredible, its a huge improvement over the old one, and with headphones AMAZING, sounds better then the 1st generation Nexus 7 hooked up to a Stereo Receiver/Equalizer. The Bass is Outstanding aswell

I got a Nexus 7(2012) in October and even today, mine doesn't lag. I don't use it as much as I had planned to, but I use it fairly often and it's always been a pleasure for me to use. I feel performance is still top-notch

I just bought one of these yesterday. Yeah, it's a little over three years old now & isn't gonna a get Nougat; but for the price I paid - £119.99 for a brand new 32GB model - it can't be beaten on the cost vs. capability ratio & is exceptionally good value for money 👍
I own an HTC One Google Edition & an ipad 3. That whole feeling of "Premium" of aluminum wears off especially after you buy a case for it. I love the build quality of the new Nexus 7, and it definitely is thee best "All around" tablet on the market. LOL at aluminum "feel like a sturdy jewel." Soda can bro!
You always make great videos. Keep it up. I like my old nexus 7 with a custom rom ..only problem is the speakers are terrible. I had to watch this in the hallway Cuz my living room TV at normal volume was too loud to hear this video.
Rollins you should get the nexus 7 2013 cause I checked the specs and anything the mini can do it can do better plus more. So if the 1 inch screen difference dosent bother you get the nexus 3013
4.3 has a slew of under the hood improvements, sound, audio latency, graphics, screen, smoothness has all been improved, in addition to new apis and support for more standards (like open gl).
iPad Mini is great to, but its old now. I don't understand why people have the need to compare year old tablets to ones that came out less than 2 months ago... His comment was extremely ignorant this was a great review of a great tablet

I have one of the original Nexus 7 tablets and have supplied two for a couple of Autistic kids locally. We have not seen any slow down in performance like you have reported but maybe that's just us. Also, we got the update to 4.3 within a couple of days of the release of the new tablet so running 4.3 now.
Hoping that they would do the same treatment with the Nexus 10. It's already 2014 and Google could do a lot with their current available software and maybe hardware.
This was my all time fave tablet. I regret selling it now. Perfect size in the hand and enough bezel to handle it without touch the display and accidentally opening things.
I am itching to get a Google Nexus 7 because of the performance and features, but without a SD card slot, I am not sure if I would want this tablet. It seems like a really nice piece of hardware though, and for the money.
just bought my nexus 7 2013 edition its my first tablet and I think it's amazing choose it over the apple iPad just because it's far cheaper and the quality is fantastic
I've owned every iphone except the 5, ipad 2 & 3, and several ipod touches. Can't really call me a "fanboy" if I've been on both side of the fence. FYI, I actually do surf, bike, skin dive, fish, hunt, etc. I leave in Hawaii and always have recreational things to do.
Definitely go for the new Nexus 7. It's only $30 more for more than twice the quality of parts along with instant update from Google, as soon as the next version of Android gets released you'll have it within a week most likely. Also, the Tab 2 7.0 and Tab 3 7.0 are essentially the same products but with a different design, and the Tab 3's CPU is a slightly higher clock speed at 1.2 GHz; same display, same amount of RAM, and same software. Definitely not enough of a difference to upgrade to it.
You should compare battery capacity looking at Watt-Hour (Wh) rating, not just mAh. The new battery is 15Wh and the old one is 16Wh. To compare mAh ratings the voltage needs to be the same, and that's not the case here, as the new battery is rated at 3.8V and the old one is 3.7V. If the new one was rated at the same voltage (3.7V) the mAh would be 4054 mAh.
I rooted it just to replace the kernel of this with elementalx, performance and battery life both are much better!! :D and installed adblock, both these only for root, must have!!
Can someone tell me what the advantages to getting a tablet would be? I'm not hating but honestly I don't feel the need to get one. I have a nexus 4 which is amazing and I have a great laptop. Is there really a reason why I should get a tablet as well? I'm just wondering if i'm missing out on anything that a tablet offers.
With an app called GrooVe IP you can make phone calls with the Nexus 7, but to receive them you have to pay a small fee. Great app very useful you have to have wifi or the 3G one as well to use it.
it can do anything you want, but it isnt meant for calling. my question is, do you need a 7 inch screen? if this isnt the case, you can better buy a smartphone with a 4/5 inch screen like the lg nexus 4
Yes it is certainly an option, but i'd wait for the LTE version, should be out in a few weeks... And as for the fact if you can use it as a phone, there are enough apps to help you with that :)
hey Nice review....well I just got my new N7 2013 and its quite cool on compare to N7 2012....and even I also got a trendy Sleeve cover for it from Fommy and its also quite beneficial and this can be used comfortably with the older one and the latest one too... So you can also check out at Fommy may be you get some interesting accessories for yours too

heh! i am looking for a device on the go that i can use 1) for internet entertainments (Google play, apps, Wi-fi, chat, videos, e-book, ect..), for 2) education purposes (software like Microsoft word, excel, power point, Adobe flash player, ect.); 3) use as a phone; i don't know the electronic term for such feature :( ; and lastly that is very affordable and in a good quality (last me long enough). IDK much abt electronic devices. is this Nexus 7" a gud choice?if not what would you recommend me?

Really I'm using a older nexus 7 now and there is no lag at all and I have a good 183 apps and the sound is fine!

It can do HDMI out when using a Slimport adapter via the MicroUSB port

in Australia the nexus 7 is 299 and ipad mini is 369. do you think this tablet gets the same score considering the pricesses here
If they kept the same physical size of the tablet, and made the display 16:10 edge to edge; it would be amazing!

I bought the Nexus 7 (2012) a bit late (in May), so I think I'm just going to wait until the 2014 model since I don't see this one as a HUGE upgrade.
