figuring out that you have to shoot the arrow signs in "on a rail" to change the directions of the tracks is easily the hardest part of the entire game

The moment with the big fan was a huge obstacle for me in elementary school. I didn't know what to do. Uncle then told me a secret that all you have to do is jump up.

Luckily I didn’t have too much trouble with this level. Sure, I died a several times at the different parts most people die at and had trouble with different jumps. Before playing I had watched Freeman’s Mind and other videos about the chapter so I knew what to do. Although, one part I think we can all agree is cancer is the jump at the end where you have to land on the table. That part was objectively awful.
Something I find funny is how a lot of people hate On a Rail and say that part of the game is one of the worst sections. When I first played the game I was utterly confused why everyone hated it. The way people kept building it up I assumed it was Half Life’s version of the Library from Halo CE (that mission is as bad as people say it is. Especially on higher difficulties). Sure, there were some slow sections, since I wasn’t very good at the game I had to retry to soldier encounters several times, and got lost like 2-3 times. But other than that it was just boring/mildly frustrating at worst.

Idk what the Valve devs were smoking when they decided that the final fall was a good idea lmao. At least theres an autosave before it but still...
I have heard a lot of horror story surrounding the Library level, unfortunately I still havent got myself to play Halo yet.
On a Rail might be tedious for some, the tunnels might look a bit dull, but the I do enjoy watching Marines vs Aliens and the final reward of launching a missile with your own hands is quite.a good reward; unlike dropping onto a table full of medkots if you are lucky.

I just now looked it up and apparently there’s a way to not lose any health from that fall. What you need to do is back up right as the pipe breaks then carefully jump onto this metal beam and make you’re way down until you can safely fall on the table without getting hurt.
With the Library thematically it’s beautiful because the Flood just keep coming showing how relentless they are, it shows the scale of Forerunner structures, and is meant to make the player feel exhausted and confused by the layout. Gameplay wise it is by far the worst part of the entire game (maybe even the series) for the exact same reasons. It would’ve been much better if it was shorter or if you encountered Covenant a few times to break up the repetitive nature of fighting the Flood. The Halo games have some plot holes that are caused by a combination of their rocky development and Bungie going with whatever they thought was coolest at the time. The 343 games have numerous problems caused by the new people not understanding the IP they’ve inherited. Some aspects of CE didn’t age that well and are exasperated by the fact that they’ve been done better in future games (not being able to swap weapons with your allies and the fact they get stunlocked, vehicles feel like you’re sliding in ice, certain weapons like the Energy Sword and Fuel Rods aren’t usable in CE, and you can’t highjack vehicles instead you instantly die if they nudge you). There aren’t very many weapons but the sandbox is very well balanced and each one has a clear role. It would be interesting to hear what your thoughts on CE and maybe even the other games in the series are. Something that’s interesting is back in the day Gearbox did the pc port for CE, but the net code was bad and they busted some of the graphical effects making it look worse than the Xbox version. One good thing that came with that port was insane modding support, some new weapons (cut ones they got working), a new rocket Warthog, and some giant maps. It really makes me wonder what would’ve happened had they been able to make an expansion pack. Since this was still the early 2000s I’m sure it would’ve been great since Opposing Force is just as good if not better than HL1. Originally Microsoft was planning on letting them helm the series, but they went with 343 instead (given the dumpster fire that 343 has been and modern Gearbox I’m not sure who would’ve been worse. Anyone who thinks Bungie would’ve made a good Halo after Reach is an idiot because the Bungie that made Halo, Myth, and Marathon died during Reach’s development and before Destiny 1 released. Destiny 2 didn’t even get good until several years after it’s disastrous launch. Something that’s really funny is the reason Bungie let Sony buy them was because they wanted to make shows/movies based on Destiny and other things they made. Given Sony’s abysmal track record with movies I’m so hyped to see this dumpster fire in action). Now it looks like they’re switching to Unreal 5 and using the new game mode as a reboot since it’s been handled so badly.
I also liked seeing how the marines and aliens wound fight. It’s always fun whenever there’s two factions fighting and you can choose who to take out first (one of my favorite things about Halo). I also enjoyed launching the missile (got lost because I didn’t know where to go after I launched it. Then I looked up a guide). Could’ve been better. But it definitely worked well for what it was.

most confusing thing about "blast pit" is figuring out what to do in that tentacle boss fight. i got lost and had to look up a walkthrough. i didn't have a problem with sneaking by it, i just held shift and slowly moved, i didn't know grenades could distract it. all the other parts aren't that confusing.

14:08 if you don't have enough health to survive the pipe drop, you can go down the ladder and use the first aid station below.

I really like this video in concept and the script writing is solid but you really need to enunciate your words better, you sound bored and it's a little hard to understand at points. If you got better at that I would enjoy your content a lot more.
It's also worth noting that the ending pipe can be avoided completely if you run back after triggering it, you can climb across the scaffolding and drop down unharmed.
