Unreal 2 Retrospective | Epic's Biggest Fail

Unreal 2 might be one of the worst FPS ever.
It's a game that should make Epic Games still feel ashamed for having released it. At least they had the decency to delist it 20 years later..

I never got around to beating Unreal Gold, but I was wondering why they never made an Unreal 3.. I think I see now. Seriously, genuinely, whole heartedly -- who the fuck thought it was a good idea to not only implement slow moving, but also a mode to walk EVEN SLOWER?! What did they want to make, an immersive RPG?

A lot of focus went into the dialogues and the ship sections, the briefings of the latter are very detailed but everything else is just trash. Its interesting cause Unreal 1 is a very lonely game, you are stranded on your complete own, while in Unreal 2 they doubled down on characters. Some interactions are genuinely funny, but the few laughs you get by listening to John's joke is all the game has to offer. Its just an unbearable experience lol
