    hate to be the one to point out the bad news however that motor is not a 455 in fact its a small block as given away per timestamp 36:19 of your video and there is no raised casting behind the timing cover... as well as they never made the edelbrock RPM performer intake for the Olds big block only the small block however when they did make that RPM intake the put extra material in the runners to hog out so you can in fact run the Edelbrock aluminum heads... been doing Olds since 1987 and this is allllll facts. you do have a nice running and sounding motor though. please feel free to further research any of my info and you will see i am spot on

    Man, I love this car! Been looking for a 1969-1972 Cutlass to build for a few years but unfortunately the prices have skyrocketed, and people are asking 4-5K for rusty junk that needs a complete restoration. Took my driver's test in a 1970 Cutlass F85 that my parents owned in 1981. 350, dark green with aluminum slot mags. Used to cruise it on Saturday nights with Billy Squire cranked in the 8-track. Great memories with a fun car. That baby would lay one-legger stripes forever. 🙂

    It’s a nicely fitted out Cutlass though
    Possibly sold new in California due to the Vapor canister

    Look at the casting number between the water pump and intake. That looks like a small block Olds from here. If the casting number ends in 558 its a 350

      kinda looks like you deleted your comment on my info being dated however it did show up under my notifications,,,oddly enough I looked at the edelbrock website and still see no version of the RPM intake for the big block so therefore I stand with my comment

    I had a 73 Grand Am (LeMans) - similar size and generation, unmodified - and was able to push the seat back far enough that I was comfortable to drive with my long legs, and had plenty more backup room to spare. Also knew a guy who got a 70 Cutlass new, taller than me, who did not say anything about the seat spacing. So something off with the driver's seat/tracks on that Cutlass, different from stock original. Should be fixable.

      I'm hoping so! Love those Grand Ams! I have a 75 that's pretty well optioned. They're a lot of fun

    Had the W37 rear cover was this a real w31 car has 3,73 ratio gears at 3,500 at 60 mph

    this car is a clone,never was a w-31.somebody did a good job with the striping.
    air cleaner is a 71 unit,.
    lot of good stuff on that car
    i dont think thats a 455 because edelbrock never made a performer rpm intake for a 455,just the air gap intake.

    • @1575murray
      @1575murray 5 месяцев назад

      The W-31 package was a one year only package available in 1970. It was not as popular than the much more common W-30 package which offered the 455 big block engine which before 1970 was not offered in any intermediate car due to GM corporate edict.

      @@1575murray you are wrong.the w-31 package was available in 3 years 68 to 70.

    🤔 I'm wondering if that car was actually a rally 350... I see yellow paint on the fender at the bottom and it's got all the things that are rally should have. You need to look at the trim tag

    Sometimes I wonder where your head's at crank the wheels to the left as hard as you can and you're afraid you're going to get stuck and you pull up halfway and stop. Or you could get stuck again and you take the car out with antique gas in it and start standing on it and saying it's stumbling. Am I missing something here?
