We work on and collect classic cars, specifically Pontiacs! In the videos, I'll talk about how to bring these old cars back from the dead and get them driving again, most of the time for as cheap as possible. Old cars are a lot more fun when you can drive them!
1960 Pontiac Ventura Revival! Runs & Drives After 24 Years!
We bought this 1960 Pontiac Venture (trim level between Catalina and Bonneville) two door hardtop in central Nebraska. It had been parked for 24 years. In the glovebox, I found receipts for the car from Utah, California, Wyoming, Colorado, and West Virginia. When we picked up the car, it had West Virginia 2001 plates on it. It's amazing to think about this old car spanning so much of the country in its time on the road. The car's drivetrain is the base 2 barrel 389 backed by an automatic transmission. It appears it was originally equipped with power brakes, power steering, Kelsey Hayes 8 lug wheels, and the Wonder Bar radio. Although the car is covered in surface rust and moss, the body i...

1964 Oldsmobile 98 Rides Again! Low Buck Revival!
Просмотров 27 тыс.Месяц назад
A little over a year ago, we bought a collection of cars and parts from a family that had been picking for decades. This 1964 Oldsmobile 98 4 door hardtop was included in the purchase. I unfortunately don't know any history on the old land yacht, but it was well optioned for its time and decently well cared for, aside from sitting outside with the trunk open as long as I've known of it. Initial...
1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible! Rare Car Gets Driven Again!
Просмотров 45 тыс.Месяц назад
In this episode, I work on a 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix Convertible that I brought home from Canada a year ago. It had been sitting for a number of years outside of Winnipeg. The owner listed it for sale on Facebook and the options of the car caught my eye. It's a convertible which makes it rare in and of itself (only 5700 made, one year only), it has cornering lights in the fenders, it has 8 lug ...
1965 Pontiac Catalina Drop Top Farm Find Revival!

In this video, I get a 1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertible running and driving for the first time in several years. About a month ago, a "local legend" of sorts who I never met before stopped by the shop and said he had a couple Pontiacs he wanted to get rid of. He had seen my cars from the highway and figured I would be interested in them. I knew roughly where his place was and when I drove in, ...
1968 Chrysler Imperial 440! Sandhills Auction Buy Revival

My buddy Grant was nice enough to go with me up to the Pine Ridge Reservation where I bought this 1968 Chrysler Imperial 4 door hardtop off of an auction. We headed to a ranch just north of the Nebraska border in South Dakota, where several classics sold a couple weeks prior. The ranch was about half mile down a minimum maintenance road in what most people would call "BFE". Much to my surprise,...
Will It Run?! 1959 Ford F-600 Straight Truck! Y-Block Action!
Просмотров 12 тыс.3 месяца назад
I bought this 1959 Ford F-600 straight/grain/dump truck from a fella I know the next town over. He bought it from the original owner who lived about 25 miles from me. It was driven up until the 90s, and then spent most of its dormancy in a corn crib until lately, which is likely the reason why the box is still as intact as it is. The fella I know didn't want to deal with it, so he listed it for...
1980 Pontiac Trans Am 301 To 400 Engine Swap! Big Gains For Low Dollars
Просмотров 62 тыс.4 месяца назад
I bought this 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a locked up 301 engine. Prior to the video I got it unlocked and running, but it had no oil pressure. A friend of mine then told me about a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix 400/TH400 car that he had for sale. I bought it and put the engine in the Trans Am. In this video, I go over what's needed to swap the engine from the goofy and tired 301 to a more co...
30s & 40s Ford Parts Hoard Walk Through! Plus Some Pontiac Pieces!

Dave, Stacey, and I took a trip to a really neat place that Dave got acquainted with. What really caught my interest when we were first talking about it was rumor of some new old stock Pontiac fenders! He absolutely wasn't joking. I spent the day rummaging through two buildings of a sixty year collection, trying to find every 1950s and newer Pontiac part I possibly could. We came home with a gr...

Will This Farm Fresh 1964 Chevy Grain Truck Run & Drive?
Просмотров 7 тыс.5 месяцев назад
In a moment of weakness, I bought this 1964 Chevy C60 straight truck on a Big Iron auction. It was sitting on a ranch in the Nebraska Sandhills where it was used for many years, until the ranch bought a semi to haul grain with. This old truck is equipped with a 327 engine, 4 speed transmission, 2 speed rear differential, and a 16 foot grain box with a two cylinder hoist. I bought it sight unsee...
1966 Pontiac Catalina Convertible Revive & Drive!

Some time last summer, we bought this 1966 Pontiac Catalina Convertible and a 1967 Grand Prix convertible from a fella in Illinois. Both of them had locked up engines and the Grand Prix is highly optioned with the convertible top, cornering lamps, bucket seats with head rests, air conditioning, and a bunch of other options I can't recall. This Catalina, aside from being a convertible, didn't ge...
Barn Find 1966 Pontiac 2+2 Convertible Gets 421 Engine!

Last summer we bought this 1966 Pontiac 2 2 convertible in southern Missouri on the Arkansas border. It had sat in a hay barn for about 15 years. I purchased it from the owner's widow who was so happy to see it go to someone that reminded her of her husband when he bought the car decades ago. The old hot rod has a lot of great options including a convertible top, power windows, power antenna, a...

On this weeks episode, I go through and pick apart a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S W-31 clone that we bought on an auction here in Nebraska. It's currently outfitted with a 455 Big Block Olds engine with aluminum heads, big headers, an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, a 750 Holley carb, and an MSD ignition system. Behind it is a Muncie 4 speed and a 12 bolt posi-trac rear differential. The car was r...

I had a dark blue. white int.74 grand am 400 2 barrel it had anti theft system in the driver seat.car wouldn't start if you sit down.also the nose cone was dissolving it was a fun smooth riding car.those guys made good cars back in detroit once upon a time.
D on battery gauge stand for discharge or Dead
At least it has a 400.
Tks for showing your work 😎
I;m 77 years old when I was a teen I would have sold my soul for a Bonneville convertible.
You got her on the road.😅
Canada just needs to become part of The US already.
just leave it the way it is and send it
I had a friend in high school whose parents had a 64 Olds wagon with all the options. He drove it a few times when we went band practices. My biggest memory of the car is the hydra-magic. It would sorta surge and then drop into the next gear and the engine rpm would drop. AC was freezing cold. The car was only 6 years old at the time. If this car has a non rusty chassis/frame then you've found a good one.
12:25 THAT is a seat mat for when the summer comes and it's really HOT on the Vinyl seats (Or leather if applicable) after the sun and heat has made them unbearable to sit on. Those suckers work GREAT! They aren't nice to look at but they aren't uncomfortable to sit on at all. You never see them anymore.
what kinda shape is that wagon in you have would you want to sell it
I can see why the sedan is overheating. The fan blade is on backwards.
Until including 1969, Pontiacs used 2 bolt holes in the engine, 1970 to 1976 had 5 bolt holes on the engine. 2 for the A, B & the Grand Prix And the other 3 were for the Firebird, to sit lower in the frame. After 1976 they only had 3 holes for the rest of the time that the Pontiac block lasted to. So you can use that block in any Pontiac
dont part it out sell it to me i will do the ground work to get back on the road and a title
How much do you want for Is the grand prix
Sometime around 1968 my Dad bought a 55 Pontiac four door sedan for $75. He and I polished the bumpers, polished out the paint and spent several hours cleaning the interior. It looked incredible. He said it would make me a good first car but I was not impressed. He sold it to a friend with a growing family and they used it for several years. Later, my Dad decided he was going to go further in his refurb of old cars and built a shop. His first attempt at a whole car paint job was a 63 Catalina two door. He painted it white with IMRON which I think was a new paint at the time. He decided it was too much labor for little profit and went to work as a mechanic for Johnson outboards. He bought a 57 Pontiac four door hardtop off of a mailman who had bought it new. This was around 1970-71. He drove it for four or five years just doing normal maintenance like brakes and belts/hoses. I only ever had one Pontiac. I bought a new 78 Trans Am, medium blue metallic with light blue vinyl interior. I don't recall the actual sticker price but paid just less than 8 grand for it which I borrowed the entire amount. It had the 400 engine and auto. The Air Force shipped it to Germany when I got transferred there in late 1978. Drove it over there for three years and got it shipped back to Georgia, my next assignment in the Air Force. I sold it to a fellow airman in 1982 for $5200. It only had about 30k miles and still had original tires and battery. I did have to replace the water pump because it had started to weep antifreeze. That was the end of my Pontiac history but I do have fond memories of the brand. The TA was a blast to drive with quick ratio steering and positrack which did great in the snow and slush of West Germany. Its only downfall was the crappy door hinges which meant sagged doors and really poor power window mechanisms which were sluggish and noisy. The engine and trans were great.
That convertible was a great find. Yes, keep the original factory AC parts and reinstall them in the future. I've had several convertibles in Missouri and you will roast driving one in the middle of the day. Good to have AC. The top absolutely should go down at dusk and drive around in the evening and enjoy the cooler air. I honestly believe that places like Los Angeles were convertible meccas because the climate is so much milder.
This a crazy cool car that would be the ultimate sleeper
the big old boats look great! what to you have for sale! i like the blue one. best regards and keep trucking.
A lot of the 70 2+2 s in Canada had chev 350s in them
I learned all about cars from a life time of Pontiacs with my dad as me teacher from my first car a 69 Grand Prix , 428 , 66 Bonn conv many gtos and firebirds I’m 64 now but I can follow along your videos and know exactly what your doing , no shop or cars to play with now but you bring back great memories for me .great job doing your videos easy to understand what you’d doing , job well done !!
Have a 63 Grand Prix 67 tempest 70 gto love the ponchos
Great looking car bud😎
Headrests in 1966?? Very, very rare for 66. I wonder if they were salvaged from a newer model?? I see power windows. Love the buckets and console. Love all those options!
Really enjoy your content I am a fan of old gm stuff like pontiac cadillac and chevy. Have you considered using a tripod more often in making your videos ? it would take away some of the rapid movements and make watching easier for us I think... anyway keep up the great work 😎👍
2+2 wagon?
D is discharge. So indicates um low idle hit gas should kick up. Old school
Hey I never had a convertible till I got this one so yeah looking forward to driving it on a sunny day oh yeah
That is a nice 63 Catalina. My first was 61 Ventura. I loved those old cars!
Um you took off plastic line to op oil pressure switch um hmm.
Can you sell me that hood please.
I had a 66 grande Paris Conv when I graduated. Had electrical fire. The old man had a friend who took away wrecks. He gave it to him when I was working out of town a few years later. I found a 65 2+2 years later. 327 4 speed. Loved it. Took it apart once. And again in 2006-7. Had it at the shop blasting the frame. Someone stole the tach and then the whole car. Really pissed me off. Well about 4 years ago the wife got me hooked again with a 67. That’s pretty rust free and me and the kid did the frame and suspension. We made a fiberglass hood with 3” lift on the whole beak with a shacker with the scoop. He wants LS with 5 speed. I picked a 66 Conv in Alta for his grad. Pretty cool. That ones all apart. Has really good bones but still another year for metalwork. No shortage of work with the both. Glad to see someone with the same appreciation for them as us. Rock on!
I’m stunned. If someone told me about this car, I’d be very sceptical.
Nice Nice
Definitely needs a good bath
