    I really hope you all enjoy the clean up of the Wildcat! One thing I want to mention is I haven’t used the Carnuba Wax in a while. After a short period it hazed out pretty bad. We cleaned it back up and went over it with the Ceramic All-in-One Wax from Griots, we normally use. The paint was much happier! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

      To answer your question honestly, The car detail inside and out didn't turn out like I expected...It turned out way better than I expected. Looking at it on a big screen, you'd swear it just came out of the paint booth. I'm shocked, you guys did an awesome job.
      With the windows down, it looks beautiful, reminds me of cruisin' back in the day. Thanks for saving this one, what a great video!

    OMG!!!! That Buick ended up absolutely stunning! You and your Dad outdid yourselves bringing this Wildcat back to life! I worked for a Buick dealer back in the day and I believe that the color on this Wildcat was called Antique Bronze Metallic! You guys are awesome and the car is beautiful!!!! I'd be driving that baby every day!!!

      I was thinking either that or code #61 Burnished Brown which is a little darker than than #77 Antique Gold, hard to tell without direct sunlight, and the level of orange peel leads me to believe it was resprayed at some point who knows how accurately they mixed the paint.

    1972 my landlord in North Dakota had a 1970 Le Sabre the same colors as that. I was an Airman and rented their upstairs apartment Summer of 72. When I'd be short of cash, he'd toss me a $5 bill and say take my car and get it washed, keep the change. My buddy managed the local car wash so I got it washed for free. Loved how that car shined up. You might switch to a soft bristle brush to scrub the upholstery and dashboard. Using an herbicide sprayer for the carpet was a great idea!

    Between Pole Barn Garage, Junkyard Digs and yourself, those of us who love seeing malaise-era, four-door land yachts being resurrected and driven are being spoilt for content right now! This one is an absolute beauty and has cleaned up really well - the difference between a nice dry barn and being left in a field or the woods i guess.

  • @corvair1966
    @corvair1966 25 дней назад +26

    These transformations are so satisfying to watch! One tip on the seatbelts, they're easily cleaned with that carpet steam cleaner.
    I use a long piece of plywood (1x3 or so), lay the belt flat and clean it just like it's carpeting. Especially important on modern, retractable belts, which get sluggish when dirty (use a heavy spring clamp to hold the belt at full extension.) Most people assume some spring has gone tired on their slow retractors, but I found it's the oils and gunk the belt fabric picks up over the years. After all, most seat belts are NEVER cleaned. I was grossed out (and amazed) how dark the solution was when I cleaned the belts on my 200k mile Honda. And they zip back like new.
    Keep the videos coming, gentlemen!

    TOTAL RESPECT for the work you two to bring that Buick back to glory.
    Here in Australia, when we had an auto industry, our cars of that vintage were made with the same materials as the parent companies in the U.S.
    Lots of chrome & vinyl. Straight 6 cylinders or baby block V8s. Oh, how I detailed my pride 'n joy back in the day. A true "street machine" and a head turner. Yes, boys, I approve your work & content. Like & subscribed right away. 🇦🇺

    As a teenager I picked up this same style Buick for $300! It was just a 14/15-year-old car then. My car was maroon with a black top and black interior. I still have the Am/Fm radio that was in the car. I of course had to put a cassette radio in it. Drove that car hard, I am pretty sure I blew a hole in a piston because it started to smoke and use oil all the sudden. I took it for an off-road beating and ran it into trees and junk before I drove it to our local junk yard and scraped it. It still looked good, that thing was a beast.

    "Transformation" -- what a perfect description for what went on here! And, I'm so glad to see you're using 303 Aerospace Protectant. I've been using it for 30 years and swear by it, for anything rubber, plastic or vinyl. (And, even furniture!) It's especially effective on dashboards and tire sidewalls. Apply that stuff regularly (every few months) and those surfaces will never crack or fade. Can't wait to see what you do next on that Buick!

  • @kaiserschnitzel89
    @kaiserschnitzel89 9 дней назад

    It's bonkers that this car wasn't absolutely beat up and falling apart when it was @25-30 years old when it was put in that barn where you found it to begin with. Unreal. What a time capsule. The vinyl top, the headliner, the dashboard, the seats ... unbelievable. Not even getting into the almost complete lack of rust. Wow.

    That Wildcat is GORGEOUS! I remember in grade school one of my teachers I want to say Ms Arcario had a 1967 Buick Wildcat in seafoam green. I think Cadillac called it Pinetint green but to me it was the same color. The color of this car while not my favorite it was VERY VERY common back then and many GM cars came in that color! People loved it. Much like that rootbeer met brown ford used from like 1971-74ish. Not my favorite but period correct and very common.

    What a beauty. Ours was green. Back in the day my mom would always hide in the trunk when going to the drive-in.

    I Love 4 door no post car's like this gem. I remember being 11 and riding in the summer all the windows down feeling the cool wind. This was high living a car like that. I think she deserves to have the rust addressed as she has already had a repaint. Someone loved this car. I think she deserves to be cleaned up even deeper before you can't find anything to fix her up. You two being just some guys you do a real good job bringing things back and you have some Variety of what you tackle. It looks to be a fulltime job to me. Best of luck and keep up the good work.

    That's an amazing transformation. It's impressive what a lot of elbow grease and a few supplies can do. She's a fantastic Wildcat!

    I remember these in the late 70s and early 80s and always liked the look of the 69. How the trunk kind of slopes down.

    Of course we enjoyed it Michael, and no, maybe didn’t expect it to turn out that good, what a surprise that vinyl top was, in amazing condition, looking to more on the Wildcat 👏👍
