If it’s a small tattoo on my hand I have to do the same ?
It’s crazy how much the guide of after care can vary from artist to artist
Yeup! Everyone’s different in how to do it and varies. For me this works amazingly
Yeah All the ones I got they tell me to keep the clingfilm on over night
I heard wrapping it back up is bad practice. that’s what my artist told me

@@matdan6081 how much did that cost you? I just had a half sleeve done, about this size. A clock and big skull. 4.5 hours, $1200. Around the 4 hour mark my body was in panic mode too. Lol

Getting my first tattoo next weekend 🤪 😳 watching all the videos to prepare. 🙃🥳
I got a tat in 2018, it’s been sooo long I just got another small one last night, thank you for the tips
Got my first tattoo yesterday, took 4,5 hours of pain😂 My artist told me one hour plastic wrapping, clean it off and the wrapping only for the first two nights, when sleeping. If your tattoo gets too wet, which is why too much wrapping is harmful, you can develop inksacs under your skin. It‘s important to get fresh air. The cream is supposed to be applied after day two as well.
Got my first one yesterday. 6 and a half hours of needle time ✌✌ I've got my aftercare instructions but I was curious abt other methods so here i am :D

@@justinkd Not for a while. One tattoo is plenty for now.

My artist has me keep it wrapped for 3 whole days with “second” skin. (I don’t get it wet for 3 days). Then twice a day wash it with “SpectroGel Purple” and apply unscented lotion as needed and to not peel it. Different way of doing it (and he’s as good as tour artist who is very good) cool video!
Second skin is best thing ever invented I used it with my last tat
bro i love you tattoo man , looking cool !👍🏽
Did your artist use Saran Wrap? Mine used a second skin which you keep on for up to 24 hours. Take it off in a hot shower, clean and dry the fresh tattoo, then reapply a new bandage. Keep this bandage on for 5 days. This works super well and really helps with the itching and healing process, especially if you are a tradesman like me who works in an often dirty environment. Highly reccomend that method.
Thank you for this video. Your tattoo looks absolutely gorgeous! I am getting my very first tattoo next month so learning as much as i can so i dont screw it up haha

Very informative. In the process of getting a japanese style hikae tattoo soon. My artist has already penciled me in for a few sessions at two weeks apart each. Wow! That is an amazing tat!
this tattoo is amazing! my only advice to everyone who might see this comment:
DO NOT RE USE THE PLASTIC WRAP!!!!! GET A NEW CLEAN PIECE AFTER YOU WASH!!!
What intelligent person would re use dirty plastic wrap on a fresh tattoo
@@drugtestedimmediately7920 .........laughs in idiot ----
Exactly! He said to go get that plastic that u took off, and after cleaning, put it back on after 30 minutes. NOOO, do NOT use the original plastic! Eeek…🤦🏼♂️
I have always told my clients to never rewrqp it . Tattoo needs to breath . Two hours on plastic is maximum recommendation by me also advised by the health department to not even use plastic at all but gauss medical gauss 💯🤷🏻♂️. After the rains a Thin rubber appointment would do best
Okay but this man is so fine😍 dope tattoos too
That tattoo looks great!! Detailing on point.
Respect bro 💯👊🏼
See my artist said when you get home you can take the wrap off and I used shea butter it made it simple I only wrapped it for work and sleep the first couple days he is right tho many ways to take care of a new tattoo just depends on the artist, amazing tattoo ❤️
Hey Man, I just got a tattoo on my thigh on the 5th. I’ve been away from the gym due to letting my leg recover. How long do I wait until I can officially go back and train legs?
Thank you in advanced!
The drying out for half an hour part is so important! Here is what I did..
Day of tattoo
Leave wrap on untill bed, wash with luke warm water and tattoo soap, pat dry with kitchen towel sheets, leave for the night.
Day 1 - 4
Wash with luke warm water, pat dry with kitchen towel sheets, leave for half an hour and then apply bepanthan.
Day 5 - 9
Leave alone for the natural healing process (when peeling and scabs start. Washing and adding moisturiser can potentially cause tattoo bubbling at this point so I just left my arm alone)
Day 9 or 10
Wash, pat dry, wait half an hour and apply moisturising lotion.
i put bapanthan on day 0 is that fine
@@gamelife0196 It's not what I would advise as similiar to the wrap it's preventing your skin from properly breathing and at day zero it's an open wound almost. Nothing to worry about though as many do leave the wraps on over night and apply ointment straight away. Guessing you have had the ointment on now for 6 + hours now so I would wash it and follow the instructions in my first step (day of tattoo) but once you have washed it wait 8 hours (or if it is night time for you, over night) before applying any ointment
Best video ever ! thanks bro and I have tattoos but kind of forgot how to take care of one LOL

You're such a handsome man, I'm in love 😍
Honestly, I would just leave it wrapped for at least 12 hours. Overnight is the best. Then rinse it with luke warm water and cover it with clean wrap for another full day. Then shower normally and apply natural lotion or natural coconut oil. Just how I do it and my tattoos heal better and so not scab up hardly at all. Great video though. Everybody does aftercare differently. Maybe you could use a new piece of plastic wrap instead of the same one??
Everyone's way of aftercare differs slightly. I prefer to take it off after acouple of hours to just wash out the plasmas, blood and ointments. and yeah you're right, applying a new clean one is better and in my next video I correct myself on it. My next tattoo Imma try a different way and use maybe a different healing ointment and see how it heals compared to this way. 👌🏼 thanks for the advice, I don't really see anyone being right or wrong in this topic and love hearing other people's new ways of healing/aftercare 👊🏼
Why would you wrap it lol wrapping is just to stop it from rubbing on anything until you get time to wash it so there’s no point wrapping it back up again just wash it later
Marshall you wrap it to keep stuff away from it like germs or rubbing it against some that could hurt it. a tattoo is like a open cut
I have heard you shouldnt put warm water on a new fragile tatto tho? 🤔
Petar Juric lukewarm is the way to go.
Both of your tattoos look amazing 😍😍
Thank you 🙏🏼
bruh the tattoo😍
I'm getting work done in September. I'm thinking about using saniderm, but my lower leg tattoo is going to be done throughout three days, so I don't know if that complicates things
I wouldn’t use the saniderm in this case because you’ll be getting it done in the 3 days back to back. You could still use it but I think it’s better to just use the regular plastic wrap, keep it on for the day and once the whole things done... then use the saniderm
Just letting you all know that you don’t necessarily have to follow this. Everyone has different ways of doing after care
Ofcourse not. This is just MY way that I treat a tattoo and seem to have great results by doing so
@@justinkd I just got my tattoo 2 days ago and there are still black “plasma” ig coming of of it, is it supposed to “shed” for this long?
Yeah that’s fine, should be done after today. Just continue to wash and apply a think layer of healing ointment

Hello. I find it quite bizarre, that no one seems to recommend putting an ice pack on the tattoo. It’s a wound, so you need to control the swelling right?
Awesome tattoo, btw!
You know I’ve never thought about that but also I’ve never read anything about putting ice on it. I’ll look into it
@@justinkd I just had a calf sleeve done, and my ankles have swollen. Normal reaction. So I’m putting an ice pack on it. Seems to relieve the pain and swelling..I refuse to use any drugs.
