(I am not a professional and this isn't the only way to take care of a tattoo, there are many ways.) I had a 7 hour session, I’m currently on day 5 and I’m 90% past the flaking and had no scabbing! I’d say I’m healing nicely

@@justinkd i kind of noticed as the flaking is undergo would the tattoo go down a shade? Im not too sure but is that the reason for my touchups in a few days or weeks?
You’ll always get a different shade from the fresh tattoo. So don’t be scared or nervous about that. Also Touch ups are just got spots that the ink didn’t heal

I went to the gym on day 7, gave it a full week. I used hoodie, kept it loose around my sleeve. Showered after etc… I was VERY mindful of the machines, placement of my arms, grabbed a piece of paper on machines etc… no problems with pimples. Healing looks great, open minded about the routine if anyone has recommendations. I’m officially on day 8 now
I start going about my business again after day 7-8.

A lot of the time the pimples are just ingrown hairs. No lotion can help you once it starts to flake. Just keep it clean and let it be. Let your pores breathe and heal on its own.. sleeve is crazy tho..👍🏻
Yeah that's exactly what I found was the problem. Read my body and once I cut that out of The healing process it helped them go away. Thanks for the helpful comment 🙏🏼

Love the vids. One of the predominant causes of the pimples, is ingrown hairs. I’ve noticed this with my tattoo healing. Generally occurs after shaving arms or any area. Just let your body reabsorb it. I use a little polysporin topically.

I definitely stay out of the gym for at least 2 weeks or until my tattoos are fully healed. gyms are staff breeding grounds. The last thing you want is to bring your fresh tattoos (1 big open wound) into a local gym to possibly catch staff infection! Great tips though! Your tattoos are insane! 🔥🔥👌🏻👌🏻

Man that rash looked wicked af !!!! I placed my sleeve so that way that part of my arm that meets my body/shirt etc. isn’t touching it you only notice bare skin if my arm is up

Wash with non scented bar shop or hand wash, Keep tattoo dry for 4-5 days after tattooing(don't apply any ointment). Let It breathe and it won't clog the pores. Avoid using LARGE amount moisturizer , Less moisture is better. If u r tempted to put ointment use once a day. Boz bacteria form in moisture areas. After 5 day use tiny amount of moisturizer/ointment.

JustINKD I’ve had mine for about 6 years. I just got the new Ponto 4. It has Bluetooth connection to my iPhone and sounds a lot better than the older models. Thanks for sharing.
What were the reasons to why you got yours? I was born with bad hearing and needed it right away. Also mines Bluetooth aswell and I can't explain how amazing it is to have this feature. I came from the first ones that did just the bare minimum and to now have this kinda function it honestly was like a fairytale to me

AND LMAO funny enough I used to say that sometimes aswell 😂 now I just keep it simple and tell them it's a hearing aid that's Bluetooth to my phone so I can listen to music, and all that. You should see their faces go into shock when I say im able to do that 😂
So glad u mentioned the gym I was itching to go back. And I believe I was having the same issue with over moisturizing.. I use aquaphor so had to knock it back from moisturizing 3 times to twice a day

Pimples are sometimes normal depending on the person's skin. For me I realized alot of the pimples I was getting was because it was ingrowns along with some regular. I'd recommend maybe less lotion and just keep cleaning. Go with how your body reacts, hope everything works out and it clears 🙏🏼
Those pimples are very likely folliculitis. See a dermatologist

Your videos are really really helpful, not even my tattoo artist tells me all of these information 😂. I got few pimples too on the area that had more hair, I will cut the moisturizer altogether to see where it goes.

But now I'm going back with the moisturizer to coat the newly peeled tattoo.

I am not a gym addict; but I got my first tattoo done and I seriously need to get moving. Mostly because of health related issues. After a couple of days, can I go for a 3/3.5 mile walk at least? Thanks for your reply; greetings from Mexico!

Good vid. I think we all heal slightly diff. On day 7. I just wash it 2wice daily with dial no scrubbing of course. And aquaphor after Pat drying. So far so good. Crazy ass itch tho lol

I, knock on wood, haven't had problems with pimples or rash, but I did get an infection on the lower part of my left calf tattoo. Even though I followed all the directions, it was most likely caused by my clothes rubbing up against it and from doing some yard work in hot weather (though I kept the tattoo covered). It eventually healed up with neosporin antibacterial ointment--but it was very painful. You're young and have lots of testosterone and hormones in play yet, so it's not unexpected that you'd be more prone to pimples.
Yeah that probably was the reason why with the rubbing of clothing and hot weather combined. Sucks Because sometimes even if you follow all the steps and do everything perfectly you still can run the chance of getting it inflected. Glad to hear it went away and Everything is Good now. And for me I find it's mostly pimples from ingrowns. I'm very prone to them and get them all the time. Sucks Because I have to be careful with poping them to get the hair out from under while making sure the puss doesn't get out and infect surrounding area

I always get super red and irritated skin around the areas I get tattooed unless its a very small piece... not sure if that’s normal but usually happens around days 3-6 for me its very annoying though lol
I’m on day 8 from my first tattoo and it’s very itchy but I haven’t had much flakiness. I was told to keep washing and moisturizing 2x daily until the end of week 2

It depends. It can least from weeks to a month. Mine lasted full month to recover from my tattoos
I know this is really late in answering your question (hopefully it will help others) but they say in between 2 weeks and maybe 5-6 months... Just depends on how you heal really!

I had some small red bumps at day 3 from my shirt rubbing against my bicep. I’m on day 9 and they are subsiding
After my first session my black didn’t hold as well so during my second session my artist touched it up and told me not to moisturize it this go around 🤞it holds better.
as someone prone to getting rashes after getting a tattoo, this was quite relieving to know they get better after drying up

I always got pimples on my tattoos, I could only get like a unscented cocoa butter lotion for my recent session and I haven't got any! Felt like i got more from the actual butters
I didn't have any aquaphor.....but I had a friend with like 5 tattoos, and she swears by neosporin. So Im going to go with it,, at least for the first few days until I have to switch over to a water-based lotion :)
I found this for you, give it a read and see. If it worked for your friend then awesome but from what I read it doesn’t sound like the best choice for a healing ointment.
“ Neosporin is not only medicated, but it is also made of petroleum. Since it’s mostly used in healthcare and medical situations, it’s designed to act as a very thick barrier between the skin and the atmosphere to prevent the introduction or reintroduction of bacteria. It works by holding the moisture content within the wound while keeping oxygen at bay.
This is, of course, great in certain medical situations, such as a paper cut. However, the medication’s properties have an adverse effect on tattoos. The large patch of skin that has been ‘traumatized’ by several needles pricking it over and over needs oxygen with a thin layer of moisturization. The antibiotic properties of Neosporin could be an allergen to most people. The components of Neosporin are Bacitracin, neomycin, and polymyxin B. These are meant to kill bacteria that are on the skin.”

Just try to wash the area and don’t apply anything. You’ll see them go away, I’ve done it and a lot of other people who’ve had the same problem have done it aswell with a good outcome

I did kinda my own thing so far and I'm only using moisturizer 2 times a day 3 if I feel a need and even as it peeling add moisturizer when it feels super dry
recently got a tattoo on my leg right above my knee i’m on day 5 and been following everything you’ve been doing and our body’s seem to be going the same with the pimples and little bit of flakes but i was wondering if i should still shower carefully as when i got it day one
Yeaj continue to shower and avoid playing any moisturizer in the areas that are getting pimples

Pimples i found happen when you moisturize the first 3 days. Isn't until you start flaking and peeling that you really wanna keep your skin moisturized
For the most part yeah that’s a major reason. Sometimes there’s ink that also just blocks the pours and that can lead aswell

Yeah you can shower with a healing back tattoo. Mine was fine. just try to not be in there for tooo long
I'm day 3 and my wrap still on 😅 i found for me the longer I leave it on the better my body takes the ink and the less weeping/drying my tatt suffers with after taking it off
That's because you're body does most the weeping in the first 24-48 hours mine in 24 then after that I don't weep much. You should look into tegaderm or saniderm. If you leave the tape on for 3 days and don't get any skin irritation it sounds perfect for you. I'm on my second tattoo using it and it's so convenient. It's a clear bandage that you put on your tattoo and you can leave it on basically the whole 1st week. You change it after the 1st 24 hours just because the cells in the fluid do die after about that time and no longer help in healing then you leave the 2nd 1 on for up to a week. My artist tells me 4 days so I usually go with that

thanks this tought me the aquaphor was giving me pimples, thankfully not on the tattoo but close. Im starting to dampen a blue shop towel to wipe of extra tattoo moisturizer to a thin layer
For days 5 and 6 were you still applying lotion or just letting it be? My tattoo is starting to peel and feeling more dry very often.
After day 5 I only apply lotion once a day. I didn't apply it for abit Because I ran into the pimples problems but for you continue to do it once. It should be flaking and feeling abit dry
I had that same rash. I used antibiotic ointment and it was gone in a couple of days! Hope this helps someone

Do you remember how long it took for your pimples to go away? I have 3 tiny ones on the tattoo that appeared a few days ago, and two bigger noticeable ones that appeared yesterday (luckily those 2 are not on the tattoo itself).
They usually take a couple days to go away what I tend to do is wash the area of the tattoo and then when applying moisturizer I avoid the tattooed area with the pimples on it
maybe ingrown hairs from the shaving.. and access thick lotion. keep it clean
You should try saniderm if your going to work after a tattoo

One thing I did that helped me heal the tattoo faster was taking Lysine pills because it helps on the skin restoration it literally helped me heal faster

Damn I played basketball on day 6 yesterday with a big baggy t-shirt(my tattoo is on my left shoulder) but i was dripping in swear and there was a lot of contact. I got pimples for my first 2 tattoos and now I don't apply any lotion, instead I use antibacterial ointments for new tattoos the first 5 days, it stops growth of all sorts of bacteria so I don't get any pimple or rashes, keeps the itchy feeling away too.
I tried to use ointment up to day 5 but by day 4 my tat was flaking a lot. How where you applying the ointment when it was flaking? Patting it down?
Wait so you stopped washing your tattoos after day 3 or you will keep washing them for a month
I have the same rash u have by your armpit on my new tattoo. My tattoo is on my hip where the leg bends close to my groin area. It showed up less than 24 hours ago under my saniderm. I took it off gently and immediately washed the tattoo with anti bacterial soap and didn’t put any ointment. I’m still worried tho because it burn and hurts slightly but ice seems to help. how long did it take for your white bumps to go away

I find washing it then leaving it to be, not applying ointment or moisturizer works best
