    Great vid. Tip: start taking collagen supplements about a week before your tattoo and while it’s healing. Will keep skin elastic, healthy, and physically speeds ups the healing process.

      In general, (as a doctor) I'd advise against using collagen supplements for anyone getting a tattoo or any surgical procedure, due to the increased risk of scar development.
      Some people may be prone to developing keloid scars, and taking collagen supplements can only make this worse.
      I've seen one individual who's new tattoo completely scarred up and was ruined. He was already prone to keloid scars, and had been taking a collagen supplement before, and after getting his tattoo.
      That aside, however, collagen is a great supplement that more people should consider taking.

    I usually take the cling wrap off right after i get home, wash it gently, pat dry with clean paper towels, (twice a day) and add my tattoo balm, and keep doing that till the swelling goes down and it’s now so raw, after about 2 or 3 days after i wash i let it air dry for about 30, mins then i add my balm so that way the tattoo has time to breathe and start to go through the “crusty” stage while i let it air dry, and then again like i said, still adding balm until it’s mostly all healed on top then i add my unscented, sensitive skin lotion on it to keep it from scabbing and only just peeling like it should

    although iam not an expert I beleive ( at least for my body) that the washing gently+ moisturising twice a day is the most important part of the healing . the rest is great if you do it but it's not going to damage your tatoo if you are clean .
    I may be wrong but that's what works with my body.

    Hi guys, I use your balm for the healing process and I do the following: Keep the clear plastic for 2 hours, wash the tattoo area, dry it than apply Sorry Mom balm and just leave it to breathe. I do this for the next 10 days or sometimes depending on the area 11 or 12 days. After that I just use normal hydrating cream just to keep the skin from drying out. What do you think about this method? Or should I go with your film for the healing process? It would be much much easier for me to just use the film instead of the balm. Also another question: Balm or butter? Which is better for the healing process? Thanks

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 года назад +7

      Hi Vlad :) Most of the customers that we are in contact with have experienced better results by keeping the tattoo film on the first 3-4 days. Then, after that period, they start their regular aftercare routine (wash + moisturize 2-4 times a day, depending on your skin) for 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks, to keep your skin hydrated and elastic, then they use the tattoo lotion, to make sure the tattoo is properly moisturized and looks fresh. Regarding the question about the balm and the butter: although the butter has proven to be super effective in the healing process, the balm was specifically developed for that purpose. Therefore, if you need something for the healing process exclusively, we'd say you should go for the balm.
      We hope this was helpful! :)

    • @vladalexandru5861

      @@SorryMomTattoo Thanks , just what I thought and that is why I am going with your balm. After 10 days I found out that my tattoo is healed (with the exception of the knee area which is more delicate). After the days I think I will try the butter to just keep the skin elastic and from drying out. Anyways keep up the good work and the great products. Cheers

    Hello, after the 24 hour mark, is it okay to apply a small amount of A&D, then put the film over it? Or just leave it dry and apply the film? What do you recommend?

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 года назад +1

      Hello Jawknee! We here at Sorry Mom does not have an extensive knowledge about A&D so I would rather not comment on their product. I recommend that you clean your tattoo and use neutral soap if you dont have a soap specific for tattoos. Then i would apply the film :) After a couple of days i would take the film off and start the aftercare routine. Remember to moisturize your tattoo with appropriate creams. // Jacob - Team Sorry Mom

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  2 года назад

      Hello Aiden, most people overthink the first tattoo and yes its going to hurt, some places more than others :) However, eat before you go there, bring snacks/something to drink, bring something to watch on your phone or talk with the artist. I hope this was useful because in the end, its not that bad (most places) but thats it! Best regards - Jacob Team Sorry Mom

      Hello Steve, we cannot vouch for "fade the itch" here on this channel, since we do not know the product. In fact we would strongly recommend to stay away from "miracle" products, if you choose to use it however. Make sure that it has the propper approvals and that its safe to use on a tattoo. Should I apply anything like a balm or moisturizer before the film or is the film by itself fine ?

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 года назад +2

      Hi Ricco :)
      The first 24h you have the bandage on, it's best to have the film only. However, once you apply a new bandage (which you will have for 3-4 days) we recommend applying a thin layer of balm/moisturizer. This will keep the area properly moisturized during the first days of healing.

    • @SorryMomTattoo

      @@riccomunoz2501 We would definitely recommend using products specifically designed for tattoo healing, like the Sorry Mom Tattoo Balm or the Process Butter. However, if you don't have that possibility and you are in doubt about other products, you can use the film without applying any moisturizing products.

    Hello! I have a question. I’m hoping to get my first tattoo and I’m wanting it located on the back of my neck however I just wonder how it would be when it comes to taking care of it during the healing process. I work part-time in a warehouse and we move around a lot plus I tend to sweat easily, I was wanting to know if it’d still be ok for a tattoo to heal in that kind of environment/how can I manage taking care of it because I really don’t want to irritate the tattoo :(

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  3 года назад +5

      Hi there!
      There's no problem with that. What we would recommend is that you use tattoo film in the tattooed area for the first 2-5 days, so you will avoid your tattoo from rubbing off on your clothes. In case you are sweating a lot, you can change the film after every shift. The tattoo film is meant for cases exactly like yours. You can check it out in the following link: sorrymom.tattoo/tattoo-film
      We hope it helped! :)

      @SorryMomTattoo  2 года назад +2

      Hello! The clingfilm/plastic wrap is only useful for your tattoo til and from the artist. Some people use the wrap while they sleep to avoid getting the excess ink and blood on their bed but other than that, you should not use it. Unless you are talking about Tattoo film :) Jacob - Team Sorry Mom⚓

    Hi guys, I’ve had my first session for my new tattoo for about 4 weeks now (chest to three quarter sleeve) and I have been bang on my after care but I’ve noticed a fair bit of fading in a few areas and healing hasn’t been the best. I’m going to need a touch up during my next session but nervous how the artist will react thinking that I didn’t take care of it which I have is this normal would love your advice as I can’t find this anywhere. Thanks again!

    • @SorryMomTattoo
      @SorryMomTattoo  2 года назад +18

      Hello! Fading happens in new tattoos especially colors tend to need multiply sessions to stick (sometimes). By that i mean that sometime the ink just do not stick to your skin. You should NOT be nervous at all, if your artist is a professionel he/she should know that it can happen even if you take good care of it. So just tell the person that you took good care of it, if they ask. I hope this was a good enough answer. Jacob - Team Sorry Mom
