i like the contrast between Mike and Sebastian. They are both proud, but one of them uses that pride to do the best he can, the other one uses his pride to hide his shame
I was told something once as a teen. You can tell the difference between pride and proud between one thing. If two men climb Mount Everest proud man will sit down and take the view in and enjoy the small things. A person full of pride will stand tall and and want more. However there is no other mountain. Choose who you want to be. I'm just trying to be a good person so proud is where I'm leaning towards.
I love that Sebastian and Frank both seem to understand that the "canvases" are ACTUAL people. The other ones treat the people getting tattood as a piece of paper or something. Yes, a tattoo is a piece of art that an artist makes. But they make it for a PERSON who has to live with it for the rest of their lives!! Mike was delusional. "How dare you add something to MY PIECE?!" BRO ITS *HER* BODY, ITS NOT Y O U R S!! The other guy with the 100.000 dollar thing was the same. "you cost me a $100.000". The guy wanted a tattoo (which again, he'll have to live with for the rest of his life), it's not HIS fault you couldn't deliver. It's called Ink MASTER, not Ink Master in just this one style of tattoo. The "IM AN ARTIST, I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!" comment is also INSANE Julie.... Julie you had 3 people saying your tattoo's suck. If all 3 of their tattoos also actually do suck, its most likely that you're just not that good of an artist. It just surprises me how far these people have the own head up their ass😭😭
I disagree with the Kyle comment. Kyle is unstable but that dude signed up for a free tattoo that had to fall within the confines of a challenge. I have tons of tattoos, I have paid for all of them and I still compromise all the time and it is for the best. I know that if I was a canvas on this show I would accept that I may have to compromise my vision. Very rarely do canvases actually know better than the artists. Tough canvases that get good artists that end up with trash tattoos are almost always due to the canvas being unwilling to give up control and trust their artist.
no no no no no i thought it wasnt a big deal on the 100k one as well until i thought about it for literally 1 second, the short plump guy was purely in it to try and get 50k his piece that he wanted purely didnt fall in line with what the judges wanted so the customer was totally in the wrong here
I agree, Frank really did show he cared as well, he moved away to get out of his comfort zone to get better, and when he saw the man and his wife, he made sure that they BOTH were happy and not just the client, he shows that he respects the clients and their family. He asked them both for opinions and said he’d change the drawing to their liking as much as they wanted, he apologized and said he only wanted to make the client happy, not for his reputation. Serious respect for him.
Yeah, when he said "don't worry about what is gonna cover it that's my job" that was so nice, just letting her pick something to make sure she would be happy
I feel like we aren’t giving enough credit to Sebastian AND the canvas. They were both very respectful and weren’t rude. I feel as though they handled it perfectly.
I hate how some ppl go straight to arguing. Like r u not here to get ur tat fixed or to help the artist redeem themselves? U rly wanna start by arguing first? Mmkay
Or if they tried the cover up, they would negotiate with the client to find something that would incorporate the old one better. She didn’t want that and it’s a competition show so there could be no argument. And it still turned out fantastic!
I think we got used to hating Julia haha. i wonder if inkmaster was able to show who she really is and maybe spared more people from giving her a chance outside the show.
@El Martincho Pincho The girl that had Mike was very justified in her apprehension. He severely messed up and caused excessive damage by not adhering to BASIC TATTOOING PRACTICE. He then dug in deep by acting like an entitled prick, bashing her for getting tattoos done at other shops and getting his partially covered up, refused to acknowledge her issues, insulted her intelligence, etc etc.

Also the fact that he threw a fit that she had a bad experience with him and didn't want him to be very involved with a permanent piece of art on her arm
Not really. As someone who works in art industry i’d say it like that: Sometimes clients ask you to be an artist, so you go off and make your masterpiece. Or at least try creating one. Sometimes customers approach you like a service of getting an image they want. And it usually not the kind of image you’re willing to create because it’s not in your pull of elements, not in your manifest and etc. like you’re only doing black and white and they come ask you do full color. That’s not your artistic vision and you’re not comfortable doing it. Mike surely had been approached to serve. There was no Mike in that tattoo. And that’s why he said that thing. It’s not narcissistic. It’s not even selfish to ask to be approached like an artist and not like a waiter. She’s just not his target audience
keep in mind her tattoo being fucked up was barely his fault, the tattoo recovered so badly and got all blotchy because the show only provided him a singular liner needle to do the whole entire tattoo with.

Unfortunately sometimes you don’t realise you don’t vibe until it’s too late I had an artist who decided to force me to take a 30 minute break, even tho I told him my skin is reactive and swells quickly so I don’t do breaks, all bc he got mad his shopmates were eating lunch without him and wanted to go eat and watch a movie. Same tattoo: decided he was going to change the colour palette without asking me, and when I wanted things edited while there was still time to do so he said no. Just see how this heals and if you still don’t like it come back within 60 days and I’ll touch it up for free. The lining healed blotchy and I had blowouts and you can see scratch marks all through the ink bc they didn’t fully saturate and when they tried to go back over things it was too late bc my arm swelled up and stopped taking ink. It’s just an overall bad tattoo and not what I asked for even tho the original stencil was exactly what we talked about. “Creative vision” has no place in tattoos if you can’t be bothered to communicate your vision ahead of time

It's called Ink MASTER, not Ink Master in just this one style of tattoo. The "IM AN ARTIST, I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!" comment is also INSANE

Tough canvases that get good artists that end up with trash tattoos are almost always due to the canvas being unwilling to give up control and trust their artist.
no no no no no i thought it wasnt a big deal on the 100k one as well until i thought about it for literally 1 second, the short plump guy was purely in it to try and get 50k his piece that he wanted purely didnt fall in line with what the judges wanted so the customer was totally in the wrong here

the captain jack sparrow of artist acts cooky is cooky could use some work on his sociol empathy skills BUT entertaining
Not really. As someone who works in art industry i’d say it like that:
Sometimes clients ask you to be an artist, so you go off and make your masterpiece.

The lining healed blotchy and I had blowouts and you can see scratch marks all through the ink bc they didn’t fully saturate and when they tried to go back over things it was too late bc my arm swelled up and stopped taking ink.

I agree about the part that deals with his tattoo fading. But generally speaking, if I had to pay someone that much money to tattoo them, I’d be pissed off as well. You literally have 50,000 dollars to go somewhere else at that point
