Now, I mean this in the nicest possible terms. He is a craftsman, not an artist. Those are very different things, and I believe it's a much more meaningful compliment to call this man an excellent craftsman, whereas calling him an artist feels shallow and out of place. This gentleman doesn't pursue artistic purposes, but rather honed an admirable craftsmanship. It would in fact be demeaning to call it art. Remember that "art" is not a compliment, it is a nature of work, and it is not suited to describe this craft.
The absence of music, sound effects and voice over was indeed immensely appreciated.

@@Miswired-2501 It's just that "art" and "artist" is used for anything and everything nowadays. You make something nice = art. It's not what it means. It has become a generic compliment which, because of its misuse, is pretty meaningless.

I have multiple tailored suits and after seeing these videos after my 1st one, I asked my tailor everything about them and the amount of pure custom, handcrafted, immensely precise work that goes into these masterpieces is more than most people can comprehend. I’d say it’s an art form, but I don’t even think that does it justice. My tailor mentioned to me it’s a beautiful mix of math, engineering, style, and surgery all mixed into one craft, unique in itself to anything else on the planet. The only other comparable process is the form of creating custom shoes. Apart from that, there is nothing else in the world that embodies the “piece unique” style for 1 person. These suits are truly incredible and the people who create them are equally, if not more impressive. And if you think the creation of the proportions is crazy, the sewing and stitching is jaw dropping

My father had to have a suit tailor-made in 1946 because he had lost so much weight at 6'3" that no ready-to-wear suit could be altered enough to fit him properly. He had returned home from the South Pacific after serving in the USAAF over 40 months during WWII.
A local tailor made him 2 suits that year, one winter and one summer. My father always spoke kindly of his tailor, and his name stuck with me through the years.
About a year ago I began getting my hair cut by a stylist in my neighborhood who works from her home. Her last name is the same name as that of my father's tailor. The name is an unusual one. One day I asked her if she was related to my father's tailor. Turns out he was her husband's grandfather.

Watching this video reminds me, that real handmade work is unfortunately so underrated. This is obviously the short version of a long process of the suit-production. But this gives the very impressive idea of these „little details“ that make such thing complete. And then he makes it look so easy, but be aware, this kind of work requires passion to the most little details, a lot of patience and a high level of concentration. And if you look at this, the price for a suit like this is absolutely reasonable. The best part of this in my opinion is, that the tailor produces something sustainable. Just look how he works with the materials without wasting them and: The owner of this suit will have something for a lifetime. Highest respect for this work. Thank you for sharing this video.

OMG! How is this even possible? How people sew garments together is something that has baffled me all my life. My late brother was a sketch artist and I remember, even as a young child, watching him work. He would start with a blank piece of paper and start drawing seemingly-random lines that looked like meaningless scribblings to me. Then, at the very end, when he drew the final few lines, the image just ... appeared! It's a face! Or, it's Mickey Mouse! It was all in his head and he just had to put it on paper. This video evokes the same slack-jawed reaction. I will never fathom how someone can know and do this, but I'm very glad they can!

It’s a great privilege to have an unfolded access into the tailoring work of a master tailor. Usually it costs tens of thousands for someone with that level of expertise to fit and make a bespoke suit. The suit feels like it was made in one of the prestigious Savile Row tailor shops for a British gentleman.

For some reason that part where the tailor hangs the measuring tape on his neck takes me back to when my grandma did gowns and dresses. Although they're different in some ways, my grandma displayed this same level of accuracy and sternness to their work. It was no wonder we often get scolded when we try to sneak out a pair of scissors she uses for her work given how accurate she has to be with her cuts. 😅

A couple years after he stopped making them my father would see them on the road, being used properly of course, even some years later. Sadly he passed in 2013 and that’s when everyone needed a new one as my grandmother kept getting calls asking if he could make them a new cover or reupholster a car seat for them.
